If you want to know the real me, just turn the page in my dirt road diary.
It’s right there for you to see, every kiss, every beer, every cotton field memory.
Tan legs & some Dixie Land delight, ridin’ round, windows down on a summer night.
I was there, and that was me. It's right here in my dirt road diary.

I screwed up my new year's resolution already oops

Posted January 4th, 2017 at 8:08 PM by Meganium

I wanted to do a blog-a-day thing but apparently I'm too lazy to write what the hell I did the past four days. Lol

SO, as per usual, 2016 summary even though it's lengthy.
So 2016 started off pretty depressing. A lot of celebrity deaths as well as wonderful personalities passing away. It was pretty overwhelming. It started off with David Bowie and it ended the year with both Carrie Fisher and her mother Debbie Reynolds. Like most people who thought 2016 was the worst year for them, on my end it was also the worst year. Probably since 2014 when my grandmother passed away in February and all the family drama that went along with it…prompting my decision to move out. My resolution for that year was to improve myself, and boy I tried. I wanted to improve my communication with my boyfriend, Roy, as well as with my family and friends, both here in Texas and in California. However, while I was experiencing a high of happiness, by March things slowly began to go downhill. My mom and I had a huge fight over money, and we did not talk for pretty much half of the year. Roy and I started bickering at each other, to the point that we won't even talk for days if not, weeks. We even reached the point that our relationship was ending. Our arguments became loud and severe (and sometimes for stupid reasons). I transitioned to a new (and way better) job that paid a lot more than my supervisory job. It was awesome, but by April my schoolwork was beginning to become affected by it. I wasn't turning in assignments, my quizzes were getting lower scores, and I was flunking on a class that I barely had time to attend, all because of this IT job that was super demanding. I had to take matters into my own hands by begging my boss to give me some days off to catch up on my schoolwork. She immediately refused. What's ironic is that I actually applied for this job AT MY UNIVERSITY. They probably thought I was actually done with my university work (and I still think they do lol). But the pay was worth it and that was covering all of my expenses (rent, books, bills, etc). The new job was starting to affect my energy, my mood, my relationships with both Roy and my family, and it was cutting into my free time. Roy and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary on May 10th, and on that same day I had to pull a 12 hour shift at work. We had to reschedule our dinner date until after a few days when I had actual time off. But my time off was EXTREMELY short during the month of May. Our arguments became constant in June, even constant during our time at COMiCPALOOZA (where the only good thing I can get out of 2016 is when I met Kel Mitchell) as well as one of our trips to Austin. That was really alarming. I was fired from my job in mid-June, which cuts me off from all of my finances and puts me at risk of not paying my rent on time. Pokemon GO came out at the beginning of July, and I was super excited to finally get out and explore Houston the way I never explored it before. My anxiety went out of control when I noticed Roy was lacking communication and I assumed he needed the space of his own. That threw me off, and our arguments started to get worse to the point that I refused to talk to him for at least a week. We finally met up at Hermann Park, where Houston's biggest Pokemon GO event took place and the power of the game brought our relationship back to life. While one thing in my life was getting better, other stuff was getting worse. My landlord found out I lost my job, and she wanted me to vacate the property. Sooooo I was at risk of being homeless for the rest of my life. Some light broke out when Roy and his mom helped me out, by moving in with them for the time being. The urge to get back on my feet was super strong, and I had never felt so depressed, scared, and awful. It was a huge turning point in my life. I was mentally unstable for the first month, because of trying to get used to this thing called "companion" life. My freedom was now limited, and I had to care for two people now, instead of just myself. By September, things got better as I snatched a job nearby, which will help me earn some quick money. October got really busy for me though. There was Austin City Limits, the Texas Renaissance Festival, and Nightmare Nights, which I didn't get to go due to my new job. I already chose the former two, which were really fun. I quickly got acquainted with my new tech job, and things were getting better once the year came to an end. Roy and I still hit a few bumps here and there, especially that one time when I had to sleep in a different room for a couple of nights as well as spending the night at a friend's house…because I refused to be in the same room as him at the time. My 26th birthday was extravagant, my childhood dream came true. I got Hot Wheels and Roy took me to an authentic Italian restaurant. Finally, I end 2016 as a college graduate, and excited to start off 2017 at the right foot, and I'm sure I will!

Well 2017. I am so glad you are here. I really wanted to start it off at the right foot, because 2016 sucked balls. There's a lot that I want to do for this year and this year alone. It's gonna be for the best of me, as well as the best for my family and for my boyfriend. I'm gonna do a thread about it soon at the New Leaf section, but I'm gonna summarize what I really want to do this year.
- Improve yourself. It's like 2016 but you REALLY need to work harder on that.
- Be financially aware. Save money.
- Be more communicative. Don't stay quiet when you have muk going on in your mind.
- TALK TO YOUR BOYFRIEND DAMN IT. This is why you're still together!
- Finish A+ certification. Earn more money
- Get a cool job that pays more. Earn more money.
- Drink coffee with no cream or sugar
- Blog once a day. Oh right that one's down the tubes lol.

December was hell, really. I guess it was because of Christmas and New Years. I was able to gather enough finances to fly out to California as well as gather nice presents for both sides of the family, as well as a few friends and the boyfriend. But then again, I also thank the extra workload I got from work! That really paid everything off.

Hopefully tomorrow I can get started on the first five days of the 365 blog thing. I also want to get that thread squared away as well. Hope everyone is well, by the way! I promise I will be active as soon as I can. January shouldn't be too bad though. Hopefully when all things go well, I may start my A+ class in a couple of weeks. Sweeeeeeeet.
