It’s right there for you to see, every kiss, every beer, every cotton field memory.
Tan legs & some Dixie Land delight, ridin’ round, windows down on a summer night.
I was there, and that was me. It's right here in my dirt road diary.

So this past weekend...I was tired. (Day 21-22 of 365)

Posted January 23rd, 2017 at 8:36 PM by Meganium

Current mood: generous
Currently playing: Croc: Legend of the Gobbos

Meant to post this yesterday, but I was dead tired as you can tell! Day 23 will be separate.

Jan 21: Osiris
So an update on the two computers I've been working on the past few days.

So, my manager, Manager 1 (I like to refer to my managers as Manager 1, Manager 2, etc…to protect their identites online) took a good look on both computers and it looks like one of them will not be able to make it in terms of how the virus has affected the hard drive.

Some ransomware by the name of "Osiris" has pretty much eaten up (or "encrypted") the files inside this client's hard drive, and he was pissed. There was no way to fix it unless he wants to replace the hard drive. The virus pretty much killed it according to a recent scan I made. It was going to be a tough work order for me.

Jan 22: Girl time takes an alternate route...

I can definitely smell it.

Got up from bed, took a shower, told Roy's mom I would be back for dinner, and I was on the road to Houston!

And then….he calls. Roy calls me once. Then twice. I didn't want to answer, I needed space. I figured his mom would tell him by now but apparently he still wanted to talk to me. He said he would be back from his dad's place in Houston today, so I figured I would give him some "guy time" because his dad ALWAYS stress him out.

Third time Roy calls, I had to answer. I had to be honest with him. I was getting stressed. I needed this day to myself. I need to shop for his birthday, because when will be the next time I'll be able to shop? This next Sunday? Never? Besides, I have very limited time to do so! Roy insisted I should go see a movie with him, but I was not interested in the movie he wanted to see (Moana--my sisters and nieces spoiled it for me, so I didn't want to see it anymore >_>). So I felt like I blew it. I didn't want to make him feel bad that I wasn't interested. I WAS being honest. I felt really bad. It was too late for me to answer as he said he was barely entering the theatre. So I left him a message that I would treat him to dinner after he finishes with the movie.

Three hours later, after driving around and doing some shopping, Roy finally called me. He finished seeing the movie, and he wanted to see me. Told him that I would meet up at the movie theatre. Then I realized that it was in the same area that he and I had our first date at. Then I realized that I really blew it. This wasn't the first time Roy wanted to treat me to something, and I wasn't in the mood to do anything with him. I really wanted to make it up to him, by treating him to dinner at least. So we decided to go to our favorite (okay, his favorite), restaurant…Café Adobe. It was our "date night" restaurant, because they always play romantic Mexican music…which is pretty cool in a way and it sets the mood pretty well.

He didn't want me to pay for the dinner, but I insisted. It was a "thank you" dinner from myself to him. Thanking him for tolerating my mukty mood, and for the respect. We seriously needed more days like these…where we can just relax and talk about us, really. My work schedule kinda conflicts with his right now, but we always tend to find ways. That's what a relationship is about, and I'm thankful that I'm still learning.
