Hello!

This is a start of a series I tend to keep up as long as I possibly can, where I'll post something each day which has struck for whatever reason. Maybe it's a song I listened to which particularly hit me in the feels; maybe it's a person I saw who really piqued my interest; perhaps an event which really boiled my blood. Or it may just be my favourite thing from a topic/idea/subject I was thinking about that day.

Whatever it be, I intend to document it here and even potentially get the views of people here on the same thing. It's always great to see the opinions/views of others; as once said by Samuel Johnson:

So I'll start off with the thing that has got me wanting to do this for a while: music. Music is something extremely special in my life; it has helped with the lows and makes the highs some pretty damn good ones. Every opportunity I can I will be out on a gig somewhere or partying at a festival.

There is one song in particular which I keep finding myself listening to over and over again. That song is "Be the Young" by the Florida-based band Yellowcard.

Spoiler:

"...but there's a place that we can find, where this pain is useless and we'll forever be the young..."

I don't know what it is about this song but it really just strikes me in the feels over and over. The actual melodies and use of instruments themselves is just something else; the theme of the lyrics themselves is really intriguing.

The song sounds very sombre (which compared to a lot of other songs on the album and songs from albums just before/after this is a rather interesting change) and hinting towards a more negative bunch of emotions. However as it progresses, to me it seems to pick up. I get the feeling it is talking about the potential hardships of growing up and the issues you face getting there, however as long as you stick it out it's going to be OK, you'll get through this and come out better at the other end.

It's also a great song for snapping me back to reality and planting my feet firmly back on the ground, especially at this current point in time where things are at a low and not going overly great currently.

So that is it for today! Let's see what tomorrow has to offer.

Until then, laters!
