This week was an episode that got rewritten into something meaningful for Misty to do, and recasts Chigusa as a serious threat to Misty, and makes her appearance meaningful rather than a one shot COTD. Misty does learn that the road to Pokethlon glory isn't always easy.

After taking Team Rocket out, a dojo seemed like a perfect setting for a Stamina Pokethlon, with its sumo-like event and the brick break event, so I had Misty compete in that type. She will get redemption and a chance to be in her element next time, when she tries a true water Pokethlon on a lake, and makes good on her promise to put braggy competitors in their place.

It was surprisingly a lot of fun to write the near comical ways for Chigusa to beat Misty, only to get bested by the Tauros trainer from the beginning of the episode, making his appearance a bit more meaningful (although I believe he helped defeat Team Rocket in the original episode.)

As a general rule, the evil team does not interrupt any form of competition in the remix, unlike the real show. The only exceptions are if the original scene was too funny not to cut out, although depending on where it is, it may be rewritten to suit another evil team, since Team Rocket effectively disappears after Moonlight Silver.
