Welcome to the future.

I remember back in my day when it was rare to have a phone. If you did, you were the ****. Nowadays it seems like every kid at least has an iPhone 5 and it makes my childhood sad. When I wanted to have a phone, I didn't have one until like....freshman/sophomore year of high school, at least. >:(

Also, rollerblades. They're archaic things by now, but they were pretty fun back when they were fun. I used to own fun rollerblades of my own and just skate around my neighborhood. They were big, bulky things too and kinda uncomfortable but whatever, they made skating fun!

On another note, Biking. This is debatable depending on who you speak with considering that there are electric bikes around, but I really miss going on a bike and just feeling the wind, y'know? I think biking is still a popular mode of transportation though; it sure has its advantages over cars if you don't plan on going very far distances, I guess. >.>

Also I remember having these stupidly small TVs that I had no choice but to put up with! And I'm not even talking about small flat-panel ones; I'm talking about the small, fat TVs that were so commonplace and nowadays everything is HD or 4K and it's so mindboggling. If I ever somehow have a life epiphany and have children, they're going to grow up in a world where flying cars and hoverboards and self-driving cars are a thing and never know the actual struggles of good ol' fashioned "walking miles to get to where you want".

my kid will grow up in a world where there are over 900+ pokemon and the Nintendo Z, Xbox Three, and PS6s will be the newest consoles, except this time around even fatass gaming systems will be redundant because of VIRTUAL REALITY.

my kid will grow up in a world where they will BE IN THE VIDEO GAME. something i have wanted to kill for when i was a kid.

I remember when you could still buy audio cassettes in stores. It didn't seem like it was too long ago, but the cassette kinda died out in around 2004 or so and only still exists in blank mediums to this day. I was able to get six blank cassettes a while back at 99 cents a piece, brand-new. A number of years prior, it was about $7 for a half-dozen Sony-branded blank audio cassettes.

That and those old school iMac G3s that had the colored backs that were noisy as heck and you could play stuff like Sim City and work with Office 2000 and Internet Explorer 5 when IE was actually worth using. Nowadays, the 3DS I use is more powerful than an iMac I used a decade ago, let alone the cell phone I have is more powerful than the desktop that we got brand new a decade ago that is somehow still running to this day - how, I don't know.

It's really odd when you start comparing things in terms of years or even decades and you realize just how long it's actually been and that you used that at one time thinking it was the best thing since sliced bread, and over time you just started using better and better things and didn't realize just how slow things were back in the day. It's kinda scary.

Believe it or not, I never cared much for a phone, which is why I didn't get mine 'till I was 16. Rollerblades are cool, but I never saw the big deal about phones, and to this day I don't use mine much.
