A Music Blog (#36: Gimme your job)

This is the last entry for the challenge theme of 'VG music with string instruments'. So please throw a new challenge at me in the comments after listening to this entry! Doesn't have to be video game music either, just needs to be a theme for me to try and come up with some matching songs for.

I had a few other ideas for which song to use for this entry, but then decided to go with this one by impulse, because it's in a game I've been playing for the last week. =p In my defence, it's...

A Music Blog (#35: Praise him like you should)

Today for the theme of VG music with string instrument/s, I am going to talk about a guy responsible for the music in a few Pokemon games. Namely, Pokemon Colosseum, Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, and Pokemon Battle Revolution. Tsukasa Tawada has a few rather notable tunes in those games, and a bunch include strings too. In fact, here are a few examples of those! Each of those are worth a listen and even a feature...

However, I'm going to feature a song of his from a different and obscure...

A Music Blog (#34: I'll be here for a while)

Another entry! Once again uni sure liked to eat up my life, but now I have time for LPs and writing and even this again! :V

For this entry (continuing the songs-with-string-instruments-from-video-games theme challenge), I'm going with tunes from the rather popular game Xenoblade Chronicles. This is a JRPG for the Wii, which a lot of people never got to play, actually! But more on that in a bit. First for the video of probably the most popular song of the game... and with good reason....

Okay, another hiatus, another return! Uni sucks etc.

The next bunch of entries will be in response to the challenge offered up by Antemortem:

Anyway, think you could try out songs from video games featuring mainly if not complete string ensembles? I love strings/winds and would love for some to be highlighted.
He later said that songs with just any strings is fine too, so there it is - VG tunes featuring a string instrument for at least most of it!

On that...

A Music Blog (#32: Where's my trap card?)

As a change of pace and with a complete lack of guitar solos, this entry here is one a friend of mine requested a good while ago, so true to my word I'm featuring it months later. =p

Sadly, when I went on youtube to find this song there was a lack of any decent quality versions (and any version of all was pretty darn hard to find in the first place)! Egads! This fact simply would not have been appropriate, especially given this video game tune is a pretty catchy one in my mind and...
