Yeah New Snap isn't for everyone, it's a slow game which can bore some people. Personally I liked the original a lot so I was super happy to have this one! Nothing will top the original though, as gorgeous as this one looks. too much nostalgia there <3

Lurantis was pretty tough from what I remember!! I picked Popplio so of course it wouldn't be easy ahah. glad you managed to win :3

awww it sucks when you don't like a game much, I'm sorry T_T But managing to beat it anyway is a big feat, good on you! Now you can easily say you played through it all and still didn't like it lol. Some games get better later but I guess that wasn't one of them. I was the same with Hometown Story, think I got it as a gift from someone? Maybe? But it was just...such a bad game. T__T

I can understand. That's why I've been hurrying to finish FF8. I likely won't want to play it anymore when the legends game releases. I haven't played New Pokemon Snap much either. I was desperate for a speed up button, unless maybe I missed something because I don't think it had one. I quit about halfway through.

I finished the grass trial this morning (on my first try). I guess I'll box butterfree soon. It's sad, but these early bug types do tend to struggle the more you hold onto them. I caught a fletchinder. It was difficult. The ally totem pokemon knew rock blast. Lurantis had power herb solar blade + synthesis. I got lucky with confuse ray.

Not sure. I didn't play FF14, or FF15. I played FF13 because it was raining and I was bored. I ended up beating the entire game. Then I tried 6 (it was good). 7 was okay, the remake was much better. I like 8 more than 7, but less than 6. SNES graphics are pretty looking. They remind me of indie games.

I really didn't have fun playing 10. I've probably mentioned that already. Then forced myself to finish because I used a $50 birthday gift card.

I'll start with 11 I think, appreciate the suggestions :D But first I need to go through some other things like the extra New Snap courses that were added a few months ago and Legends since that's coming soon.. oof

Bagon is such a pain to level, omg! That's why I didn't use it or anything similar either, just wasn't up for how slow it would be to get it evolved. I guess a pseudo legendary is a good reward for struggling to evolve it in most of the game, lol. How far in are you now?

Ooh yeah I never got into FF much either, except a very small range of games. So I can't comment much on FF8.. are you interested in that new one coming later on, FF16 I think? The director for the game is the producer for FFXIV, which is one of my favorite games of all time, so I'm curious to see how it'll go. If it's good may have to pick it up too!!

Oh. I wasn't actually meaning to convince, more so was just talking about it. That's nice though. I would definitely play 11 first. If you liked 11, 8 is the most similar. 7 is one of the lengthiest RPG's of all time. It's on 3DS, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you like the series. It's $39.99 and can start to feel like a commitment.

I just started the grass trial. I have a Brionne, Misdreavus, Mudbray, and a Butterfree. It's not a great team for this. None of the volcano fire types interested me. I thought about picking up bagon, but not in the mood to go through 50 levels this time. I'll get some sort of alolan form. I already used alolan muk last time.

I've never heard of wicked. Not surprising because I haven't read many books. I'm reading a horror novel by Stephen King. I was worried about my comprehension not being up to par, because it's been so long since I've read a novel. It's been perfectly fine.

Have never played sudoku either. I still play chess online most days, sometimes i just solve chess puzzles. Nothing to do with trying to improve memory, mostly it's fun and keeps me entertained. I'm almost finished with Final Fantasy 8. I might complete it tonight. It's okay. I like it more than most of them. Having been born in the 2000's, I don't have nostalgic feelings for many 'classic' titles. I still love trying them. Pokemon Red/Blue were so charming. The pokemon felt and looked much more like real world animals.

I'm planning to buy a DQ game when I go through my backlog, you've convinced me!! I know I'm going to love it ;w; Seems like it's up right up my alley!

And awesome. It makes me happy seeing people love Alola, it's a very mixed region/set of games for some people since we didn't have the traditional gyms + badges, but I loved that. It felt so unique because it made some major things different, and the cities/towns were super unique too. I'm very tempted to replay it sometime also. Miss it lots.

Anxiety is always hard. D: It definitely holds me back from doing stuff, don't worry about it at all ><

Good for you on reading!! I'm going to be continuing the book I started (Wicked) soon too, really need to finish. Also started playing Sudoku. Trying to train my brain a little more, I feel like my memory and attention span has gotten worse over time, so it seemed like a good way to practice.

In a way, I agree. I do think the series is a higher quality than Pokemon. Even after 11 games, they seem to pour everything into them. There isn't a single 'weak' game. Dragon Quest 6 and 7 are considered the 'worst'. They aren't bad games. Just extremely long. The original DQ7 could take 150 hours for the main story. They chopped it down on the 3DS remake. There was so much random filler. I could go on and on about the series forever, so hopefully I'm not rambling too much.

I'm still playing Moon. I love the Alola region so much. I don't know why, but I enjoy these games immensely. It might, honestly, become my favorite region. The variety of pokemon is so good. I also love the cast of characters. (Hau, Lillie, Professor Kukui). It's almost becoming like a comfort game that just makes me feel better. It's my 4th time going through this region. Once on the original sun, twice ultra sun, now moon.

I bought a monopoly game on PS4 for my younger cousin with the gift. Apologies for the slow response. Needed a new laptop charger. Also might have been evident from how I was typing about the gift, but very anxious in general. Stuck with an anxiety disorder is no fun at all.

I did get 800 pages into a novel. I haven't read a book in a few years. (aside from when school forces it). I'm really enjoying it.

Sounds like Pokémon :D The formula is very similar usually, I don't mind that and am sure I'll enjoy DQ! User bobandbill wants it too apparently so when I get my digital copy I can let him play through my account too hehe ~

I'm playing BDSP more right now, haven't played Shield in a little bit. Been finishing my dex in Shining Pearl and exploring the Underground. Definitely want to go back to Shield and finish the Tundra DLC though.. I did spend money on it so it would be wasteful not to :<

also aaaa yay! That's so much, omg. I've never gotten a gift like that before for any secret santa. Hope you can find something good to use it on!!

I should mention that Dragon Quest is a very peculiar series. If you've played one, you've technically played them all. The series is built on "never changing", so they all follow the same formulas. Same battle systems, same sound effects and music. The only thing that changes are the party members and story. (and location). The games are also very lighthearted. It never goes too crazy like Final Fantasy. It's basically the complete opposite. The party members usually have very blatant tropes. (like overly manly serious guy, outspoken person), you catch my drift.

Are you still playing Sword/Shield? Since you said you miss the switch games, I might assume not. I stopped playing them as soon as I finished the story.

I got my gift from @Fairy, which was a $25 gift card for amazon. I already said thanks, as much as I could express it. It's the kindest thing somebody online as done for me.

I don't understand the hisuian stuff. I thought the region was sinnoh.

Ohh yes this one! The art style is similar to DBZ since I think the same artist works on it, I wasn't the biggest fan of it originally but grew into liking it over time. I'll definitely get it when I can!!

Popplio is so cute so I approve :3 hope you have fun with it ~ I want to replay Ultra Sun all of a sudden now. Missing Alola a lot. Galar was cool, but I really do miss the Switch games.

and omg tell me about it, I do want to hear more, but at the same time going in with almost no knowledge seems exciting. I hope the fanbase reacts well to it and it's well enough received that we can get more. I would love a Legends game set in old time Johto or Unova.. <3

Everybody seems to have a different reaction. Along with the fever, she says it's caused exhaustion and throat soreness. I was going to give her a barrel DIY on Animal Crossing, but it can be rough finding specific recipes.

11 is the newest Dragon Quest. The series is extremely popular in Japan, arguably more than Pokemon. It's pretty niche everywhere else. Dragon Quest 3 is being remade in 3D for the Switch in an art style similar to Octopath Traveler. Here's an intro video for 11 so you know what it looks like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XoyYtqi5u54

I haven't been playing too many video games recently. Mostly reading, playing chess, and catching up on marvel. My aunt actually got me the original pokemon moon, which is even cooler. I don't remember the story at all. I started with Popplio.

We pre-ordered legends of arceus. It should be fun. They've said so little about it though.

    Omg all the best to her! The vaccine should make the side effects from the virus less severe, I hope she feels better soon ;o;

Thanks for the recommendation! I seriously had -no- idea there were so many DQ games. It never hit me until now. So 11 is that one that was remade in 3D and is on the Switch? Unless you meant a different one? Definitely wanted to try that one so going to put it on my list for sure now that you recommended it :O

Making a playable game is absolutely insane and cool. I definitely can't do that, it's incredible you can. Motivating me to get more into my hobbies! I've really fallen behind with art, got so incredibly art blocked and distracted by games like BDSP and Minecraft..

thank you for the donation by the way ^_^ Very nice of you! <3

I sent a small $3.50 donation. It's not much but I wanted to contribute. (like, wouldn't have even been enough to get the extra benefits). I had some money left on an old prepaid card.

In New York they typically checked ID with covid cards. In general they just wanted a photo, so you could pull up Facebook or any social media and it would pass. My sister tested positive for covid. She received every vaccine including the booster, but has a fever and sore throat. She said she was in bed with chills.

Oh. The old Dragon Quest games are rough. Dragon Quest 1 and 2 will have you grind for hours, running the map with little idea of what to do with very high encounter rates. 3 was a big improvement (not perfect). 5 was when it became modern, and has monster capture taming like Pokemon. 8 and 11 are the fan favorites and I would highly recommend 11. Most of them are on the app store. 11 is on the Switch.

It is fun logging in being excited to receive something. I'm happy with anything. I only made a game because it's fun trying to be creative with this. It was a subpar attempt, but finally I managed to make a playable game nonetheless.

I'm the youngest in my family. I guess that's interesting to mention. Sometimes I look around for 'older artifacts' they left behind if that makes sense. I found a working gameboy color with Pokemon Blue in it. The save died on me, but it was fun while it lasted.

I also found an NES they left behind with Dragon Quest 1. It sparked an interest in the series. I found an SNES with Chrono Trigger and played through that too.

Hopefully it's nothing, good luck to your fam!! And yeah I heard they do (haven't been back in a while), though I wonder how well that goes down since people buy and sell fake ones online.. oof. Would be better to just have a vaccine database where they can pull info from, that way people can't just get a fake card and pretend they're vaccinated.

And yay! hope you like them :D I heard DQ is super fun, never really played much though. But people say it's pretty darn awesome... maybe I should play some of the older games when I have time, fufu.

Hope you get your gift soon ~ still some time to go, I'm looking forward to see what you end up getting too :D

Happy late new year yes!! It was being streamed online I think, but I didn't watch it, it never appealed to me much since I've seen it often enough already aha. My mom said they limited the amount of people that could be there by a lot this year, maximum 1/4 capacity or something like that? Still, apparently it's still 15,000 people, which is soo many to be allowing during COVID... oh well

aww ;_; glad you two had fun playing! That's a pretty big age gap. I'm 14 years older than my brother too.

Thank you. New York was fun. Times Square felt like a sea of people. It was my first time ever going to New York and overall it was a nice experience. Before I left, my family had gotten sick with a strange cold. My sister is concerned and decided to get a covid test. (hasn't come back yet). I haven't been afflicted as of yet. In New York they check vaccination cards in most places.

Oh. I did get Poken Tournament and Dragon Quest 8 for my 2DS. I have no idea of anything about Poken, but Dragon Quest is my favorite franchise of all time. I bought my mother a minnie mouse pillow from the Disney Store.

It's okay. The person got my gift. I'm relieved now. I'm eager to see what I receive, even if it's something tiny. I haven't yet, but that's okay. I have hope that it'll come.

Happy Belated New Years. I don't know if the New York celebration would air in your location? I did get to play chess with my older brother. He's leaving soon (sadly) but it was very fun playing on a real board and not a computer screen. I won a game, but he's certainly the better player. He's 20 years older than me and has way more experience. It's always a bit lonely when he leaves.
