Yes, I heard about the Japanese declining population. I was searching for this article to show you the reason: http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-24614830 . It because of their manga and anime. Some Japanese lose themselves in such unreal worlds.

The Japanese won't have to worry about the kids anymore, because I hear their population is decreasing due to an aging population and little desire to have children, which could put them on the endangered species list.

In Japan, kids don't want the adults.
In US, adults don't want the kids.
In both cases, I guess kids are not interested in Pokémon...... looking for other games.

Replying to your post about Pokémon not being cool to new kids, here in the U.S., the new kids are only interested in M-rated shooters like Call of Duty and Battlefield, and they ruin the fun of the games' targeted audience.
