Yeah, I like crazy stuff like that, but not so crazy that nobody can relate to it at all. :x

You know Salvador Dali's work? That sort of thing.

Character art mostly, perhaps some surrealisms and abstracts. I've been trying to branch out into regular art stuff like that too.

Why would you want a cheap construction job? That's just about the worst thing you can ask for, haha. There's a fair price, but they have to remember you get what you pay for.

Which drawings do you plan on using them for?

Construction's a little worse because they're deliberately trying to get us to come down on price by whining, but when it directly interferes with the quality of my workmanship, it's hard to not snap at people... I usually don't get people that bad, but once in a while, I do have to walk off the job because they literally don't letup. The phrase "the customer is always right" does NOT apply to my trade whatsoever, and I don't think I can stress it enough sometimes. :/

I need to practice with them a bit, but I think I should be able to improve drastically using them.

As long as you're careful about that. I know you probably are, but still. People will find anything to complain about. That's one thing I've learned in my work in the customer service industry. Thankfully not everyone is like that, but it always stinks when they crop up. It ruins your entire day sometimes.

Nice! I'll look forward to seeing the progress, haha.

There are downsides to my work...namely, exhaustion, overexertion, and stress (especially when customers suddenly get it in their head that they can tell me how to do my job rather than let me work or, worse, salespeople promise things I just don't do like they say I can...suffice it to say, common sense is sorely lacking these days). Still the pay is very good when work keeps up. I can make a good week's pay in two or three days on a good sized job like the ones I've been doing lately. Just there are those cases where I have to wait to get paid on some jobs, though (namely from my commercial customers that have set payroll and bill-paying timeslots).

With the pens, yeah, I think it's just going to take some getting used to them like you said. I have seen people posting extremely detailed work done solely in those types of pens and it's REALLY high-end stuff. O.O

Oh yeah, I bet they would take a little while to get used to. It sounds like they'll be really good once you do get accustomed to them, though.

    Good for you! That's awesome.

I'm planning too... Well, I've started off with simple sketches for requests again using the India ink pens. They look good, but have a weird sketchy quality to them the way I use them... IDK, I guess I'm just too used to chisel-tipped calligraphy pens still is all...

Yeah, my work's suddenly been holding steady during a time my family is usually struggling to pay bills. It's good because I'm pulling almost a grand a week again (not always, but pretty close). But, construction-based work always pays more than your typical desk job (well, I install flooring, but it's still hard labor even for small jobs).

That stinks, so it would make sense to want to use the water proof ones. With Inktober over, now you can work on larger drawings, right?

It's a good thing you're keeping busy, but yeah that would be pretty frustrating. Hopefully you find time for everything again soon.

Yeah, some of my older pics have been completely ruined due to inexplicable water damage. Also, I noticed occasional smudging using markers to color before. These ones seem a little better suited for actual drawing, since my other ones are calligraphy pens meant for writing instead. Not that there's a huge difference...

Heh, I don't really have much of a social life honestly, but I do get a little irritated when I don't have time for anything other than work. You know, I live out in a predominantly rural area, so I've been walking out in the woods and stuff when I've gotten the chance over the past summer... I used to before when I was out camping, but haven't had the time to dedicate to walking the past year or two since my family stopped because of my late-grandma's health problems. Additionally, I've been trying to get back into gaming and writing too, along with drawing, but once again, I haven't had time for any of them really... :/ I like my work because it's extremely productive in real life, but I don't like it when everyone suddenly wants everything done in the same timeframe...

Aw, haha. Any specific reason you would want the waterproof ones over the others?

Oh, you're fine. I don't hold anything like that against people. I understand that not everyone is like me and they actually have a life outside the internet.

Yeah, I don't like just tossing things out unless they're really bad and/or completely unusable. Coincidentally, those India-ink pens work great, but I feel bad because I don't want to waste them on trivial stuff and I still want to use my calligraphy ones too (even though they're not waterproof).

Sorry for the belated response... I haven't had a lot of time for internet stuff given how much I've been working lately and having to clear out my late-grandma's house while also reorganizing my own living arrangements atm (i.e. still with my parents and not planning on moving out for the foreseeable future like how my sister up and left). I was going to become active again here too like I've been on FA, but I don't know if I'll be able to given the current trend for things...
