It was a while ago but yeah Wobbu was kinda hard to train. My team choices were driven mostly by if I hadn't really used them before, which is why I used it and didn't use Feraligatr. Not to mention I wanted to use something other than another water type.

And with that, I finished Moon last Saturday. Kukui was super tough! Easily the toughest final battle for this color I've done yet.

So I just started Soul Silver today, and let me ask you this: what are your thoughts on Wobbuffet? Did you find it really hard to use without any proper means of attack? Is it worth using? Because training in these games is crap enough, but with this thing I can only imagine how much it's likely to suck.

I am looking forward to getting to use a Jumpluff, though.

yeah, I look forward to it. I think the Gigalith I had was the in-game trade one so that helped with exp.

So, seeing as I just posted the last part of my Blue Mono-Color for Black 2 today (although I finished playing it back in March), I decided to compare teams, even though you did yours back in 2014 when I was doing mine for both X and Platinum.
    Spoiler:
    Gigalith:
    You: Level 62, 217, 244, 193, 81, 106, 51
    Me: Level 57, 178, 178, 169, 93, 94, 57

    Glaceon:
    You: Level 62, 185, 95, 161, 206, 158, 79
Me: Level 58, 165, 86, 162, 179, 130, 100 (I bred an Eevee in an egg and traded it over.)

    Eelektross:
    You: Level 62, 209, 200, 120, 153, 146, 61
    Me: Level 58, 182, 158, 106, 144, 113, 85

Pokémon only you had on your final team:
    Azumarill: Level 62, 221, 112, 130, 68, 115, 99
    Swoobat: Level 62, 187, 74, 88, 161, 82, 174
    Cobalion: Level 62, 221, 176, 189, 121, 112, 163

    Pokémon only I used:
    Samurott: Level 59, 201, 155, 114, 141, 89, 102
    Lucario: Level 58, 171, 162, 110, 148, 101, 112
    Tangrowth: Level 58, 201, 138, 147, 143, 90, 71

I also had a Swoobat that I used, but I abandoned it right before Victory Road, because as much as I wanted to bring it, I didn't because I knew that she'd be deadweight against the league. That aside, as you can see, my team was quite a bit lower leveled than yours, and I kept the starter and even used Lucario, even though I didn't think the latter would be on my final team. And I did not use any items in a single battle throughout.

And with Moon nearing completion for me (just arrived on Poni Island today), I'll just have Blue (or Leaf Green) and Soul Silver after that then I might be the second to get one in all seven generations.

Well both Luxio and Prinplup were pretty high (~L25), since I didn't have to us all that exp on Gyarados, so that helped a lot.

Hey, quick question for you - when you did your Platinum Blue Mono-Color last year, you said you lost to Gardenia once. How did you beat her? Because she took me several tries, and that was with a Gyarados... I didn't want to over-level, so I even had to use Revival Herbs to stand any chance, it was the first battle in a Mono-Color where I caved and used items. Yet I managed to beat Cynthia without much trouble at all - my team was half the same as yours, and I had Gyarados, Glaceon and Heracross instead of Azelf, Rampardos and Lucario.

Kricketune actually isn't too bad if you are patient enough to level Kricketot to L16 for Bug Bite, which does normal effectiveness against Roark's Pokémon, and since it's a high enough level, his defense is good enough, although it might take a couple tries. I ended up boxing it later in the game though. As for HeartGold, I used the Slugma egg from Primo, who is easy to level up in Sprout Tower.

So i'm thinking of turning my Y Red Mono-Color into an Ultimate. But here's a question for you: when you did Platinum and Heart Gold, how did you beat the first Gyms? Because Platinum only gets Kricketune, who's weak to Rock, and unless i'm missing something all HGSS gets are the version exclusive bugs, and those don't bode well against Flying-types.

So how'd you deal with them? I'd appreciate some tips for if I decide to go for it... Thanks!

Well I beat the game an hour ago :D I think you'll like what you see when I post the final update later today once i'm not as tired. Since, again, I wasn't using any healing items in battle, the final battle was REALLY intense, had so much luck on my side and still came down to the wire.

yeah I hadn't really addressed Kalos at all yet - those two things are broken on X/Y so everyone is banning those from challenges. Figured it was time to mention it as least. Still not requiring Kalos for Ultimates though since only carts are playable and you're the only one doing it lol.

Thanks! Yeah, as I may have said, I got it installed on my 3DS earlier in the year while they were in stock. I first heard of it when Marriland started using it in his newer series.

Hopefully i'll have it finished soon, just finished the big Team Flare event and now I have just Wulfric and the league left. Posted the update, as you've probably seen.

edit: Also noticed you banned Exp. Share and Amie just like Necrum did in the Monotype thread, which is good for me because I haven't touched either of them once. Leaves me a bit underleveled at points, although that makes it more interesting.

Thanks! I take it you'll get to them eventually, given how many Pokémon there are in them. I used the 3DS Capture device for my screenshots.
