That's actually quite funny. You would think they would pick suitable vehicles after getting stuck. Are alcohol and cigarettes banned completely or only after 9pm? America won't even wear masks because people are politicizing it, saying it's taking away "freedom". So yeah imagine a national curfew. My memory is somewhat ok, there was a teacher who gave us study packets which were the actual tests. So I would just memorize the entire packet and ace the tests.

I agree, and I don't understand the decision to rush school reopenings now when the vaccine will be fully distributed soon. But it's okay, she wasn't bothered. She simply called them idiotic.

We had to do the same thing, but I lucked out and met a person who would end up being my friend for an entire year. My general anxiety picked up again which sucks. It's making it slightly tough to sit here and write out replies to my profile. But I try to power through.

They patrol places like the beach apparently... and then proceed to get their cars stuck in the sand since they're using vehicles not meant for that lmao. We have a curfew right now so everyone has to be home by 9pm, and alcohol and cigarettes are both banned from being sold/purchased. but yeah... americans like their 'freedom' and I don't imagine a lot of them would take things well. though iirc, NYC (where I'm from) had curfews before? geez my memory is bad

Sadly some of our family is anti-vax and it's really upsetting. She posted the happy news about receiving the vaccine and they started giving her a hard time.
god that sucks. I wish people would keep that to themselves. It makes me even madder when they don't vaccinate their kids... please keep your kids out of it, they need this for themselves and to prevent others at school from getting infected by them >_>

I never enjoy the first day when everybody is unfamiliar. gives me a knot in my stomach.
OMG same. I dreaded the first day like you have no idea, mostly because I knew 50% of the time the prof would be like 'we're gonna go around the room so everyone can introduce themselves' and it absolutely makes my anxiety explode

This is about to sound culturally ignorant, but how does lock down enforcement work over there? Do they have armed men patrolling the streets? Or is it just the occasional police officer. I don't think we ever had a curfew. If that means you have to be inside at a certain time, I can't imagine how the reaction would be in the U.S if they enforced curfew. Most places simply close earlier.

She's been vaccinated and had little side effects. She has to get the second dose now. (She revives that at the start of February). Sadly some of our family is anti-vax and it's really upsetting. She posted the happy news about receiving the vaccine and they started giving her a hard time.

Oh thanks for reminding me. I'm probably just going to binge an entire season at this point. Classes also start tomorrow. Weird because it's just a zoom call, but i'm equally nervous. I never enjoy the first day when everybody is unfamiliar. gives me a knot in my stomach.

it's not great :X cases are rising here and we're in lockdown again atm, curfew and everything. beaches are force closed too and parks should be, but people don't seem to be enforcing that lol. I got a notification to my phone from the COVID app here that said I was in close contact with someone that tested positive on December 30th, but we assume it's probably someone who passed by outside while we were indoors having dinner. bf didn't get the same message and he was the one who signed us into the restaurant with his contact info for contact tracing, so it couldn't have been that. we felt fine too

and ooh, hope she got her vaccine!! has she felt any side effects from it?

yeah we usually stay up to midnight anyway so it was the same this year, but went to bed not too long after lol. did you ever get to Korra :O

I would probably find it tough being away from my family for that long. But I'm sure you do okay. How is the covid situation there? So nice to hear you get to enjoy such a long visit. My mother is in the healthcare field so will be vaccinated tomorrow.

It's at home psychology classes. Our campus is closed so it's done over zoom. Thanks for dealing with those accounts. The first one I had remembered, the second I completely didn't know existed until I tried another old email. Funny to think about that I joined years before becoming a regular user, as you mentioned many do.

Did you stay up until midnight this year? I probably wouldn't go to one either. Crowds cause me anxiety, but it has nothing to do with the noise. I'm going back into Korra tomorrow so that should be fun. I read about some of the characters who reappear. I'm so glad about Iroh. I wouldn't want to think about anything happening to him.

My bf works here on a temporary work contract and I visit! So yeah I regularly come, usually for 6 months at a time (the longest a tourist visa lets me stay)

and London sounds cool to visit. Never been either :O They're getting hit hard by covid though yeah, so will probably be a while before people feel safe enough to go..
also yes psych classes seem fun too! glad you're keeping yourself busy, meanwhile I'd honestly just be lazy and sit at home lol.... we have lockdown here atm but still go for walks and stuff when we can. otherwise there isn't too much going on

And yep, feel free to link it to me! If you can let me know its email or birthday (in PM) that would be good though, just for verification it's yours o/

Since you mentioned being from new york, have you ever gone to time square to watch the new years celebration? It seems like it would be such a cool thing to do.
Seen on TV but never went. It's about a 1 hour commute there from where I am and I really don't like being out late at night, esp since I tend to sleep not long after midnight. also it's crowded and loud and introvert me doesn't like that much either D: watching is always fun tho!!

That actually sounds like an amazing experience. Do you regularly visit South Africa? I still haven't gotten out of the awkward...post high school phase. There's so much structure then your kind of just on your own in the world. I'm taking some classes at my local college for psychology. Not sure if that's the correct thing to do, but it keeps me busy. And I do enjoy it. My family has talked about going to london. Maybe after covid it could become a reality.

I bought Dragon Quest 11 for Switch and this is like a 60-80 hour game, so it'll keep me busy for a while. I mostly play single player stuff, since I prefer stuff I can finish as opposed to MMO's and online games.

Um hey could I also link you to an account I want deleted? I remembered I had one a few years ago, and never actually posted on it (aside from like twice). Now considering the "once account policy" I just feel awkward having it exist.

I'm there now yeah! after not being there for pretty much a year, covid is so mean
and I'm sure you'll get to go!! I didn't go to many places (plus I had, and still have, horrible flight anxiety) until I was in my late 20s

and yeah I understand, I have so many games to play and shows to watch. ugh but been so lazy and distracted lol

    happy new year!!!

Oh wow you actually went to south africa? I've never gotten to travel outside the country, so I hope I can do such things some day.

So I didn't get far in Korra yet. She got into that sport with her friend, and met the guy who doesn't like bending. (I guess he's the main antagonist?) He's an interesting character. I'm going to start pacing it again at two episodes per night.

And to be honest haven't started the DLC's yet. Playing too many other games. Then again they don't seem like they take too long so I might as well.

    Oh also happy new years!

yeah, korra def feels different, the environments/settings are a bit more modern too unlike the original which was clearly set in times long past.

and yes!! do try it. isle of armor is very meh but I really liked the music and content in tundra :3c

I hope you had fun with your trip. Though you might still be on it

I started trying to watch 3 TV shows, and korra sort of ended up in the back as number 3. I think I'm going to pace myself again at 2 episodes for night. There's something different about this show, and I think it's that Korra already knows all the bending stuff, while with avatar the entire point of the show was him learning.

Oh also I got the pokemon sword DLC. (well, someone purchased it for me because they wanted to complete the pokedex and needed to trade some things). So, I guess I'll be trying it soon.

no worries, glad you had a good time :D

and yeah I understand. I did like the originals more too. Korra as a saga is definitely not as good, but it does pick up more later! I liked Korra as a character herself a lot too. older zuko is good <3

Ah sorry I slowed down with the response. I spent the week with my family celebrating christmas. We had a great time.

I might even give it a second playthrough. It's a choice heavy game, so you'll end up with different outcomes depending on what you do. As I mentioned I never flew, but hopefully it went okay for you. I guess the scariest part would be taking off. Honestly I would be anxious too.

Yeah I do hope it gets better. I'm going to keep watching but I'm slightly less motivated. It's nice seeing the story of avatar continued in a way, but the characters aren't nearly as engaging. I thought about that. It looked up which characters have passed away since the other show, and poor sokka. I'm glad zuko is still around and I'm eager to see him again.
