Happy birthday and all that, even though we don't talk much!

It's okay as long as you don't spell it out.

Still though, cut it out :c

You need to put "My Location" in your location field and then your theme will be complete.

    I could've sworn I responded :(

That's what I try to do with most of my maps, although it used to be out of laziness. The dense lines of trees aren't really bad when some change is made, but mountains just look…"meh", in an organized path. Grass is somewhat the same, but I like putting small empty spots and other things to make it more diverse. Oh, I see what you did there. I guess I just misread it and thought you just had something you didn't like about hte map but didn't know what it was. That really happens to me quite a few times and it's really bothersome whenever it happens.

Oh, and congrats on getting first place ^^
I didn't think for a second that you wouldn't win first place.

It was my fault, really. The way I phrased it made it seem like it was coming from one of the judges.

There's higher risk for shying away from Nintendo styled maps, but you get a much higher reward if you happen to do it right.
^ You should put that on your business cards. :D
Though there is something to be said for those maps that manage to strike a perfect balance between the two extremes. That's kinda what I was aiming for with my map (and with every map of mine, actually).
As for the rest of that paragraph, I agree with everything. That was pretty much the point I was trying to make (i.e., the lack of anything that separated his map from anybody else's). You just said it better. :P

If there were back-up judges, which I think is a good idea, then I probably would have been one of them, thus making my map invalid. I had a shot at actually hosting the event but Manipulation pulled the staff card on me. :(

I was going to delete the blog since I overreacted, but I'd like to think that I will learn my lesson by keeping it up.

Missing something. I don't know, it seemed really bland. It was a good map, but the brick road was disturbingly linear and the water was dull; it even lacked a brown boulder. You didn't really lose your touch because you showed you still know last time in the MRT. You already pointed out that the map lacked something special(in the MRT of course), and that's what I think prevented Ninja Caterpie from going on. His map was good, but it was by no means great or original. It's somewhat of a gamble personally; there's higher risk for shying away from Nintendo styled maps, but you get a much higher reward if you happen to do it right.

Back-up map reviewers, in case something comes up and one of the judges can't make the review on time.

Yeah, I think I went just a little too far with it. Oh well. I still enjoyed writing it. :)

Much like Ninja Caterpie's map, it just seemed like it was missing something. I couldn't tell you what, though. I seemed to have lost my touch for rating maps. It feels like it's been forever since I've posted in the Map Rating Thread. The new thread is really inactive. It's a shame since that thread used to be my home. :'(

    "Back-ups"? I don't follow. :\

You tried obvious too hard and almost had me thinking you were doing that on purpose, haha.

I thought the paths were a bit too big(and made the map seem empty), but I didn't exactly know how to fix them without adding a crapload of trees that would impede on the playability D:
It only took me a few hours to make it, so that basically explains it :P

I never understood what was so wrong with back-ups :(

I don't know what you're talking about. *devious*

I thought it was nice, albeit a little empty. And apparently Spherical Ice agrees. ;)
Now we just need to wait for the other judges. I heard Zeffy had exams or something and Manipulation mysteriously disappeared about four days ago. He came back today but still no update. :\

I was blatant before editing my post so there would be love torpedoes instead, but I was still worried because of my incredible paranoia.

I see what you did in my blog thar. I don't really mind it myself. I did it for little more than entertainment, and it certainly did get me excited because it was the first map I finished and liked in a long while.

Bah, you won't be infracted. Though I wouldn't be surprised if your ranking in the competition dropped. :(
