Aah, as usual ripping apart my allowance + trust in one go XD

But I suppose it would be worth it. I haven't played many games in the Nintendo consoles anyway.

I am biased for such a question. Although I really liked AC:NL, it was only the first AC game I payed and I still prefer Pokemon games to it. It is my true calling. =p I haven't played enough of X&Y to say if it is better or worse than other Pokemon games, but it's certainly a fun game imo.

    So... get both. =p

If I had a choice between say, buying a new game like Animal Crossing and Pokémon X which would you recommend? (Consider that I'm an equal fan of both)

This would really help me with my problem of knowing if X is worth the hassle.

    Just a bit. ;p

And no. Seems to be a big gap between 1st and 2nd gym, but it's not noticeably harder. Just a lot of side stuff to do as well and not too much time on my part.

It can take a bit of time
    you think so?
But this doesn't mean the game's harder than the older ones, does it?

It can take a bit of time, but it doesn't require fiddling with rng and event times and staring at clocks. =p

And I am! Not playing very fast, still on one gym badge in fact. But oh well, at least when I do play it I am enjoying it.

That's cool, and like you said shiny hunting is more rational. Speaking of which, are you really enjoying VI Gen so far? *tries to peek at 3DS*

They'll sparkle in their 2nd gen graphics.

Only a limited amount, never tried it and don't intend to. I have a lot of shiny pokes from trades and poke radar (and that's in 6th gen too, so yay!). RNG meanwhile requires external programs and is tedious, so not for me. I prefer using the in-game method intended by the developers anyway.

*Slaps face really hard* Dammit. Now what will my shiny collection in Gold do... WHAT -_-

Oh well, I guess I'll have to learn RNG sooner or later. Do you know anything about it?

Bulbapedia is wrong there then (and not the first time, it is a wiki after all =p). Colo and XD can only connect with 3rd gen games via GBA and special gcn/gba cables. 2nd gen is completely cut off from newer gens.

No wait, I thought we could through Colosseum and XD. That's what Bulbapedia says, anyway.

Wooooah slow down there. You can't transfer between gen 2 to 3. D= (They change the game mechanics a fair bit between those gens and that with different hardware jumps for games meant they just went without the transfer option). It sucks. =(

And yes, a lot of good games on 3DS. I still need to try some of those myself. D=

Thanks for that. I was, in fact, buying them solely for Pokémon Gaming, but in that regard I think I'll buy a 3DS XL and save up for Wii U. It's just that I've never had the experience of playing XD and Colosseum outside the emulators, and I've got a few Pokémon in Gold waiting to be transferred to GBA and from there onto BW.

Yeah, it's mostly for collecting because I'm not the kind of "active gamer", you may say. I prefer to take my time through the games and not hurry off to the newly released ones. Once again thanks for that.

(those other games on 3DS seem lucrative choices, though)

Perhaps. Miror B would be fun to interview... but then I'm biased. ;p

I have played XD, and played Colosseum a number of times!

Anyways, gamecube is outdated now, but it's a neat system to have if you're into collecting and all. However you need memory cards for it and GCN games/controllers too, and one of those may not be too easy to buy. But if you find it cheap and have things to play on it (I know other games also worth playing on it), it's a good choice. Mind you, a Wii can play GCN games too and they seem to be going cheaply and are more readily available too (still need the other stuff though for it).

The 3DS is a good choice, especially now because it has so many games. Not just Pokemon - Fire Emblem, Luigi's Mansion, Animal Crossing, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Kid Icarus... one can go on. 3DS XL is larger - touch more bulky but better battery life and isn't much more expensive than a regular 3ds (if not the same price, guess it depends where you live). The Wii U meanwhile is pricier and still lacking games, although it's starting to get better in that regard. I'd wait until there's a bundle that appeals to you though with the Wii U. If you have friends to play with and enough controllers to go around (and say Nintendoland is a good game with the Wii U gamepad + at least another person with a regular Wii controller of some sort), it's great fun. Pity it doesn't play GCN games...
