It was quite the downfall for Snivy getting evolutions that were defense-focused and bad battlers, and that's not even putting Contrary into play. If Froakie and Oshawott started off as the hated one and got the cool evolutions I could see it happening for Popplio as well, even moreso if Rowlet's evolutions let his massive fanbase down.

True true! Everyone loved good 'ol 'smugleaf' when he first came out but then they saw and tried out its evolutions which had really mediocre movesets.. and things really shifted. x'D Popplio is super cute, maybe I will pick him solely based on my feeling bad for him... <3

I do wonder if Megas will even be a thing this generation, but the new female trainer is very adorable. Likely not expecting a BW-esque Pokedex again since it appears the protagonist's mother has a pet Meowth, but we can only imagine.

Popplio getting hated so much reminded me exactly of Oshawott once being that way when the Unova starters were first revealed. Now I feel Oshawott became most popular thanks to the evolutions, whereas the initially popular one (Snivy) got a bit divided over.

Popplio is adorable though! It kind of does remind me of Oshawott, a lil silly-looking but probably will be cool when evolved.. I remember everyone didn't like Oshawott at first since it looked derpy, now it's probably the most popular one heheh.

Not mant new megas please, I'd rather they focus on new pokemon. =( I just hope we get a lot of new ones and character customization pleaaaaaase.

So, I feel you are really indecisive with this new starter trio when I recall you mainly favoured Grass with previous generations. I'm currently favouring Popplio since it's the derpy Water-type that people seem to hate, but will likely get better with the evolutions.

So, hoping for anything else new in Sun & Moon? Like new Megas or other new features?

Janna, can you close down the Water and Fairy-type clubs please? I noticed there has been a general lack of interest in clubs at the moment plus my two have gone over a month with no new members joining along with me trying to bring topics up but failed, and I was left as the only one even posting at some point so I figured close them before they rot.

I don't have the motivation to run clubs because not only are they going unnoticed in PGen, they are getting buried under other threads. I'm sad it had to come down to this, but I figured that if there's a lack of interest I might as well bow out.
