Hunny, I tend to have the same issue, so I completely understand. I procrastinate responding to my messages but I am trying to devote time to answering them.

That sounds marvelous! As you most likely already know from my forum, we put up our Christmas tree and decorated the entirety of our house nearly a month ago! It's so lovely to sit by the Christmas tree and read a novel with the twinkling lights in the background. Last night, my mother and I watched our favourite Christmas movie, The Family Stone! It is comedic at times but it truly is a touching movie that certainly brings a sense of joy and melancholy at the same time. It is the perfect movie for this time of year.

Admittedly, I have only gone shopping for my mother and sister so far. Unfortunately, I was scheduled to work Black Friday and I only had a minimal amount of time to shop before I started my shift. I picked up perfume and a gingerbread scented candle for my mother and I got my mother Michelle Obama's memoir, Becoming. I still have some shopping to do for friends and such. I want to get my mother an eyeshadow palette , I just can't decide on which one. But yes, do tell me what gifts you've purchased for your loved ones, I'd be delighted to hear.

My birthday is December 9th, so exactly a week from today. I'll be considered an adult, which is slightly unnerving, but I am ecstatic nonetheless.

Also, thanks! I am always changing my profile, I can never stick with the same design for too long. I decided to hold off on the Christmas theme until the 1st of December which was immensely difficult. Honestly, you can expect my profile to retain its holiday theme until well after New Years.

I look forward to hearing back from you, Sam! Take care.

    Your friend, Lina.

It sure is the start of a wonderful time of year! Bless you!

Its been awhile since I've replied. I've let me profile messages and inbox turn into a sort of overgrown garden. I am sorry, it seems whenever you pay me a visit things have been disorganized. But I am so very excited too.

I've got the Christmas spirit. At home we are lighting candles daily, serving punch and hot cider, and I learned how to make gingerbread. Mother has fresh frankincense and myrhh burning. There's peppermint candy all about, the winter plants have come into bloom now and I'll buy a cinnamon broom soon. In good time we will drag our the reindeer on the lawn and the lights. I saw the Nutcracker movie on Black Friday, which I liked a lot. Also on Christmas Eve my whole family is getting together to see a play of A Christmas Carol in the community, and then have dinner. I will be seeing aunts, uncles cousins. I'm just getting started. There's a bunch of goodies I haven't even mentioned yet.

I've not only started my Christmas shopping, I have finished it! Black Friday is where its at if you want to save money! I have everybody's present, I just need to get giftwrapping and cards. Want to gossip about what we've picked out for our loved ones?

I still owe you a response to an earlier profile message. I'll write it later just so this one doesn't get too long, but I won't forget. Thanks sp much for your message, and spreading some Christmas cheer.

It is neat finding out that you are a December baby. When is your birthday hun? *wink, hint*

    With love,

P.S Your profile's looking cute with Christmas colors, and a bright, snazzy new avvie.

Happy December, Sam! It is the beginning of a wonderful season, one full of joy! Of course, I am a tad bias, being that I am a December baby as well as an avid Christmas lover.

Have you started Christmas shopping? It's something I need to seriously think about.

Anyways, I sincerely hope that everything is well with you.

    Yours truly, Lina.

Thank you so much! Feel free to call me Lina if you want. :)

Have you mustered the courage to paint your precious Phillip yet? I think acrylic paint would look lovely.

You do not need to offer any sort of apology for the Halloween club. It was still enjoyable for me personally. Besides, we all have lives offline and we can get busy sometimes, it's ok. I completely understand, I've been terribly occupied myself. Anyway, I think a Christmas/holiday themed club is brilliant! It would certainly be a hit, I'd imagine. Many people, such as myself, take holidays very seriously!

Your mom sounds so incredibly talented! It's sweet how you idolized her. When I was younger I looked up to my mother too. I saw her immense resilence and grace and was amazed by it. Mothers are phenomenal. And Florence, wow! What a mesmerizing city indeed. I've always dreamed of travelling to Italy and enjoying the culture, the stunining architecture, and the food! Ah, I adore pasta! Have you ever traveled to Italy? Also, where is the one destination that you want to visit?

I think I may finally know what I want to be in the future, a Nurse researcher! It's a combination of different professions that I enjoy so I think I'd be perfect for me. As long as I keep my grades where they currently sit, I'll be all set.

My favourite Peanut character is Linus. He's so adorable and endearing, I love his childish demeanor and his tranquil nature.

Anyways, I apologize again for my belated response. I sincerely hope you're doing well and I look forward to hearing back from you, Sam!!

Dear MysticalNinetales--I LOVE to say that name by the way,

I've been stalling for time when it comes to painting Olivia's face, thinking I might switch to acrylic paint or pastel. My confidence waxes and wanes. I could be described in the same terms as Phillip from the Lion in Winter.

Henry: What kind of courage have you got, boy?
Phillip: The tidal comes and goes.

It's marvelous to hear that you are an Agatha Christie fan! I rode out of town to see a brilliant production of And Then There Were None this October, everyone was really good in their role.

I should have known that you would be quite the scholar, after all you are the founder of our Book Club. Which reminds me, I really need to get to work fixing up the poetry club.

Also on the subject of the Halloween Club. I'm so sorry that there has been so much delay with events. I spoke to management, trying to get the bottom of what was going on, and was told that there were technical difficulties, and because she wanted to see more participation and under the circumstances with her own schedule being very tight she had to take a rain check. I am waiting to update the thread until I know for certain what the plan is, but I am in talks with our Fairy friend right now about a possible makeup day with a new event of some kind, so I am very hopeful right now. When it comes to the next Holiday I want to pull out all of the stops.

You are making me blush with that marvelously detail-oriented comment, but thank you!

I think we are probably in the same boat as artists. Don't mistake me for Leonardo Da Vinci. I love surrounding myself with art and learning about it, but my hand is a bit heavy too. Now my mom and her sisters, they had the touch. My mum worked as sculptor, painter, photographer, animator and knows some glassmaking techniques. She used to live in Florence, city of the Renaissance masters. She was my role model as a kid.

I couldn't agree more with you about how riveting it can be to get into the head of what someone thinks and feels through psychology. My favorite part of writing is usually character and I often look at the people and situations that I am reading or writing about as if I were mini counselor. I try to think very hard about how a character would react based on the sum of their experiences. Also psychology is helpful for me to understand myself.

You are going to be learning and doing something that excites you, and also something that can heal and save lives!

I haven't watched the Great Pumpkin King in a long time, but I remember it being a nice one. I ought to raid my local library to see if there is a copy I can rent. I love chilling in the cafe, browsing books, eating ginger molasses cookies and finding a DVD.

Any favorite Peanut characters? Mine is Snoopy.

Sorry for my late reply! I've been so incredibly bust these last few days that I've barely had an opportunity to sit down! Anyways, I do hope that you weekend has been splendid.

Have you began painting your precious doll? I hope all goes well. Have faith in yourself. You seem marvelously detail oriented and you should do a fantastic job! I am not much of an artist myself. I tend to have quite the heavy hand while painting. I suppose makeup is the only form of art that I excel at.

Thank you for the kind word! Psychology is an absolutely an enthralling subject indeed! The human brain is certain among the most complex things in our universe! I think that being able to understand how people think and feel from a biological and psychological perspective is riveting! And, of course, being able to help people establish a healthy state of mind is something that i want to be able to do.

Yes, the Charlie Brown movie is the one with the infamous Great Pumpkin. Ah, such a classic!

Agatha Christie is among my favourite authors! Her writing enamors me! She can craft an engrossing thriller novel like no other!

You can expect me to be a little more active in the Halloween club now that my busy week is coming to a close. :)

Aren't they the gentlest giants? I see them as kinda like the Dragonites of the real world. I could post a pic of my snowy white pile of fluff here...should I?

Oh thank you! I definitely feel what I am most at home doing is creating. Whether is shopping for unusual clothing or accessories and putting together an ensemble, making a relaxing playlist to listen to, citting flowers or even cooking can become art. It all requires a little experimentation.

I am nuts about a certain Korean doll called a Pullip. Though every pullip doll uses the same face plate, the way you paint the face gives each doll a dramatically different look and personality. I'm building my own Pullip doll Olivia who is inspired by an Italian Rennaisance noblewoman. I have collected everything else she needs, a beautiful wig, dress, eyechips, all left for me now is to paint her face. I'm nervous! *gulp* I've been stalling buying my can of sealant because it is an intimidating project.

What I think I do best though is write. I hope that I will have the determination, discipline and skill to become an author one day.

I think it is absolutely great that you want to become a psychiatrist or nurse. You are frankly brilliant and I think you would excell being so mature, smart and knowledgeable. You also can help people, which is what you love to do, maybe even save a life. I have always been fascinated by character studies and getting a peek into the psychology of a character.

At the same time makeup artistry is also a beautiful way to express yourself. It requires its own kind of discipline according to my friend Lil who is a makeup artist. So much detail goes into a work of art. But its so glamorous and exciting too.

Maybe you will take classes in both, and see how it goes? I don't see why you couldn't be a freelance makeup artist too! You could use the money to help pay for medical school or your own private practice.

Hooray for Scooby Doo! Now you must tell me about this Peanuts Halloween special, because that sure got my interest! Is this the Great Pumpkin King or is there another that I must check off my list? I like the peanuts too.

Oh my goodness, your pumpkin vanished? This is such a wonderful mystery. The forever young, dreamy part of me hopes deep down it was transformed into a carriage.

I feel similarly to you. Gore doesn't amuse me. I like mystery and suspense, things that go bump in the night, ghost stories, Agatha Christie stories, maybe an old Alfred Hitchcock movie. I like the atmosphere or just going all out with imagination, witches, monsters and ghosts. It sounds like your house is just the place I would want to visit.

It is splendid to have you in the Halloween club now to make mischief with us!

Great Pyrenees are adorable! My cousin has one named Luca and he is the sweetest, most loving canine ever! Such a stunning breed. Anyways, I do suppose I should join the kennel club.

A stage makeup class does sound riveting, indeed! You certainly strike me as an individual with immense creativity! I bet your transformations are alluring. Personally, I've always had such a love for makeup and I've even considered becoming a makeup artist in the future. (However, I do plan on either becoming a psychiatric nurse or a clinical psychologist. Perhaps I could be a freelance makeup artist on the side?)

There isn't anything wrong with doing Halloween activities in the comfort of your own home! I do plan on binging every single Scooby-Doo move that I own as well viewing The Charlie Brown Halloween Special (A favourite of mine!) Eating candy corn, sipping pumpkin spice lattes, munching on Pilsbury pumpkin cookies and indulging in other Halloween delicacies is also something that I look forward to as well. I must admit that I haven't carved a jack-o-lantern in yearsss! Although, last year we had an ordinary, rather bland pumpkin on our front porch. (I might add that last year I had a party at my house a few weeks before Halloween and the following morning I noticed that the pumpkin had vanished. What happened to it remains a mystery. Of course, it can be assumed that it was stolen by a drunken teenager, but perhaps it was looted by an unruly spirit? Who knows.)

My humble abode is famous for consecutively being the most decorative house on the block. My mother simple adores decor! (She re-decorates the entire house for each season/holiday!) Although we aren't ones to go all out and make our horse appear gory or anything of that nature. I'm not overly enthralled by anything horror-related.

A dog-lover did you say? Well that is great to know! I don't understand how anyone could not love a dog. They are so smart, friendly and save lives, and beautiful. You have picked a great choice of breed in a husky I might add! They are some of the most handsome and capable dogs around!

I have a Great Pyrenees at home, and people mistake him for a husky sometimes, but they are wonderful dogs too. They like to look after small things like kids and other pets. I guess I will see you inHo-oh's dog kennel club then? I think a lot of folks feel the same way about playing with dogs and puppiesall day being pretty much heaven. I went to look for another part-time job this one at a dog daycare, and they had 3,000 applications in one week just to walk our furry friends.

Lemme add you to my friend list right now. Why dd I wait so long to add such a cool, smart lady? Its long overdue!

Wow, here you are doing all these cool things, and I don't have anything nearly as fun planned. Becoming a butterfly sounds beautiful. I did something a little similar while taking a stage makeup class as an elective. My face was painted teal as part of my blue morpho butterfly look. In that class I became in addition to a butterfly an old lady, a clown, various other animals, a rag doll, the painter Frida Kahlo and the beautiful Chinese-American film actress of the silent era Anna May awong. Now if only I could sew...

I've gotten soft and lazy this year though. i don't even have a costume, though I do have this old gold Venetian mask in my closet on standby in case of emergency. Unless I get an unexpected invitation to do something cool and different then I'm probably going to chill at home and do family activities this year, carve the jack-o-lantern, string up decorations and make the house look haunted, give out candy, all of us watch movies together with ghosts or witches or monsters and maybe bake some goodies like roasted pumpkin seeds or pumpkin bread., cut up cookies into spooky shapes.

Its almost here and we can't wait, so ring the bells and celebrate!

That's hilarious! People can have the most peculiar fears, that's for sure.

I will admit that I am a dog lover! I have a Husky-Pomeranian cross and she is an energetic, playful sort. Working and playing with dogs and puppies all day would truly be a dream! Oh, I would be simply delighted to have you send a friend request!

To answer your question, I have a lot of plans for this Halloween season. I'm going to two different parties on the weekend of the 27th. I also intend to go to an event held the same weekend. Essentially, this facility downtown hosts events during and around holiday seasons. It's basically a club that minors can go to. There's a gargantuan dance floor, A dj, strobe lights, it's so much fun! I attended last year dressed in somewhat of a daring angel costume and it was a splendid time indeed. This year I'm thinking of wearing a strapless black dress with a pair of butterfly wings, I'd do my makeup all glam and I'd put some glitter on my face, and I'd have a little antennae headband or something. As for the parties I'm attending, I plan on being a vampire. (I'd pair extra pale foundation with a deep rogue lip and some dark shadow, with blinding highlight of course!) And I'd wear a tattered dress or something along those lines. My friends and I were also discussing doing a group costume and going as the Scooby-Doo gang or being characters from Mean Girls for the other party! Who knows what we'll decide.

A club dedicated to the discussion of holidays sounds like a fabulous idea to me! I'd gladly join!

You are never alone, we all have our quirks. My dad is 6 ft 2 , was an athlete in his day, swears like a sailor, a real macho man...and he is scared of cats. I myself once literally jumped at the sight of a mouse. My friend Hyzenthlay loves mice though and has shared so many wonderful stories about how smart and clean and affectionate they can be that I am going to try to be braver. lf you happen to like dogs you might be able to just work with them if you ever get curious about visiting an animal shelter. At the Humane Society in my home town the cats and dogs are separate.

Working with special needs kids is already a plenty big responsibilty though. I know you are bringing happiness to a lot of lives. You are super nice.aww shucks, you are making me blush as red as a vupix now! I don't even know what to say bit thanks! Would it be okay if I sent you a friend request?

Got any special Halloween plans like a costume party, or visiting a haunted house, watching scary movies? After all you need to have some fun too! One of the things we are discussing right now in Clubhouses is potentially a new thread to celebrate the holiday season.
Hope to talk to you again soon!

Thank you! Volunteering is amazing, truly. I love it so much. You should be proud of helping out at an animal shelter. That's something I've always wanted to do. (I haven't because of my irrational and totally ridiculous fear of cats. I know, how pathetic. Hopefully I'll get over that someday!)

Anyways, I attempted to make my profile look as halloweenish as possible. It's one of my favourite holidays as well, second only to Christmas! In fact, I just adore autumn in general. Such a beautiful season.

I want to say that I am astounded by your warmheartedness. You radiate with positivity and it's honestly so refreshing. You're simply marvelous. You've said so many kind things to me, I thought I'd do the same for you, hun!

You ARE contributing in a positive way. I was really inspired by reading your thread. I enjoy helping others too, but need to get back into such activities. I have volunteered at my local animal shelters, all of my pets were rescue dogs or cats. I've been getting a little lazy lately but seeing your passion and selflessness has reminded me that there is a lot of work that can be done right now on my own community. My best friend volunteers feeding the homeless and its time I hook up with her.

I love your new avatar. You have really captured the spirit of Halloween. One of my favorite holidays. You stay awesome MysticalNinetales!! :)

Why thank you so much! I was taken totally by surprised, but am quite honored, humbled really and so happy to be helping out behind the scenes.

It has been also a pleasure getting to see more of you lately.I am happy to have you in the poetry club. You strike me as a mature, reflective and sensitive soul. If I remember correctly you also made a thread about volunteering in your community recently. It sounds like you are doing some wonderful things :)
