Do you have an AIM or MSN address you could PM to me? I'd like to talk about this some more :)

I've never been to Israel (and don't plan to in the near future), and I already have family members in Egypt who will be more than happy to accomodate me for the duration of my stay. But, like I said, it's a money thing. I need to get enough money in order to get the plane ticket over there.

It should be a smooth process if you 1) Don't have an Israeli Visa stamp on your passport 2) Already have family you can arrange to meet you/provide temporary living quarters.

I'll look into it, if I can get to Egypt, firstly. I still need to rake some funds together before I actually go, though.

The American University at Cario is the one that I am looking at myself. They have full university accreditation in the US and in England, and the staff that I've talked to so far are VERY helpful. Beginner arabic classes are taught in English, and from there on they only teach in Arabic. They teach MSA and the Egyptian variety, btw.

Actually, I'm thinking of going to Egypt and staying there for a while to learn Arabic, since it would help a lot when learning the language. It wouldn't be hard to settle in, though, since I have family living there already, and I could live with them.

Don't be bummed out, Arabic is an extremely hard language to learn for English speakers. I learned Hebrew from my time I spent in Israel, so why don't you consider going to Egypt and going to university there to learn Arabic? I can name a few great universities for you that would probably suit you.

I want to learn the Egyptian dialect as well, since most of the Arab world can understand it. Right now, though, I can't really speak Arabic at all, even the Standard Arabic. D:

Not very much, and even then only Modern Standard Arabic. Although I'd like to learn the Egyptian variety solely.

Oh? I am too! Though I've been studying it for so long, I can't actually understand it really well. :(
    Can you speak Arabic?

I noticed that you're using the Qur'an as your signature. Not to be nosy or anything, but is there any specific reason why you chose it?
