June 7th, 2009 3:15 PMckret2Okay, well I don't need that map for a while anyway. Just get it done when you can.

June 7th, 2009 1:54 PMThe wardenHi how are you I've not done much work on the map. I've been too busy and now I don't like the look of it and may start i t all over again lol. I hope you don't mind the lack of progress.

May 18th, 2009 1:48 AMThe wardenI started playing Toxic Purple, It's ace, it gave me some insparation for some art work, you can find it in my pictures.

April 23rd, 2009 11:52 PMThe wardenIt made enought sense to understand it. I was just intrested, altough it could be useful if I start properly on my hack, at the moment I'm just really messing around with some ideas learning how to script etc.

April 23rd, 2009 5:35 PMckret2How much do you know about the Map Header view in AdvanceMap? You make the new map, add the events you want, insert it into the game. Go to the Header view, go to Professional Header view, and then copy the map footer offset and event offset. Go to the original Pokémon Center map, copy the map footer and event offsets from there, and switch those offsets for those two maps. Now, the original Pokémon Center map looks like the new map, and the "new" map looks like the original Pokémon Center map. That'll mess up all the warps, unfortunately, so you have to fix those. So you can make a custom Pokémon Center that you're automatically teleported to when you faint, without messing up the maps of all the other Pokémon Centers.
... Sorry if that didn't make much sense. Are you planning on doing that yourself for some hack? I could give a better explanation if you want to use it. -
April 22nd, 2009 11:49 PMThe wardenGood, would I understand it?

April 22nd, 2009 12:27 PMckret2Okay, that's fine. When you're done, send me a screenshot of what you did so that when I put the map into the game, I can duplicate the custom tile without having to insert a modified tile set.
By the way, I figured out a workaround to the PokéCenter flag problem. So we're good to go there. -
April 21st, 2009 2:34 AMThe wardenI had to customize a tile inorder to do a bit of the map. It is just a V forest tree with sand in the background.

April 19th, 2009 9:12 AMckret2I've found a flag that looks like it does that: "set healingplace 0x#". I can't change yet what makes each healing place a healing place.
I think I've almost got a work-around, though. We'll see. -
April 19th, 2009 2:00 AMThe wardenYeah that is a problem, I can't script (yet) but I can program. There will be a flag that is set to tell you where to go when you faint maybe you could alter it. Otherwise you just make it so when you faint the police take you to the nearest pokemon centre and you have to fight your way out.

April 18th, 2009 2:25 PMckret2Yeah, that's what I'd been planning on doing. But the problem is, I need to make it so that you're not sent to "real" Pokémon Centers and only to Team Rocket centers when your Pokémon faint. There are map scripts that go in each Pokémon Center that tell the game which center to take the player to when he faints; so, if you walk into the Saffron Pokécenter, the next time you faint, that's where you're sent. I tried to put that map script on my "custom" Pokécenter and delete the map script in the original Pokécenter. But when I did that, walking into the custom Pokécenter tells the game that the next time your team faints, you should go to the REAL Saffron Pokécenter, not the one I made. Makes no sense. I can't figure out how to fix that. So, unless I can figure out what the problem is, it looks like I need to turn "real" Pokécenters into Rocket base rooms if I want them to act right. This is a problem, because each base has a different-looking room, but I can't do that if I have to make them all the same. Plus, if I want to leave some towns with normal Pokémon Centers (for example, in Viridian City, the Nurse Joy there obeys the local gym leader's order to heal the Pokémon of Rockets), I can't do that.

April 18th, 2009 2:06 PMThe wardenCouldn't you just make extra maps for the other Pokemon centres and forget (or other word begining with F) the standard way of doing it and edit the warp points to point to the new maps
I hope you understood that -
April 18th, 2009 2:02 PMckret2The hack's going slowly, but pretty well. Haven't run into any bugs yet, just a few inconveniences. (The most annoying is that, apparently, you can't change the map of one Pokémon Center without changing the maps of ALL of them to match. Yeesh.) I've got a few work-arounds, though, and other than that things are going pretty well. I'll just fix the Saffron and Lavender Pokémon Centers for the alpha and think of something else later.
Hope you'll have time to do the map next week. If you don't, it's a long time before I'll be scripting Johto, so it's not a problem for the time being. -
April 18th, 2009 1:44 PMThe wardenAnwsering the fan mail again I see

Hows things going in general with the hack, I noticed the alpha note thats good, I'll most likely get it and have a go.
I've not started with the forest map yet but I'm off all next week and should be able to do it then. -
April 4th, 2009 1:51 PMThe wardenYeah it's ok I just wanted to check because I didn't get a message saying it didn't send and I hadn't heard from you, but yeah thats fine.
