March 12th, 2011 3:03 PMPokepal17So is your hack a mystery dungeon kind of thing with a personality quiz and such?
lol I haven't been able to motivate myself to stop hacking. I got up, had breakfast today, and immediately went to the computer, resulting in a severely upset stomach. -
March 12th, 2011 2:54 PMcolcolstylesNot bad. I finished the personality quiz, follow me script, and the routine which changes the player's OW based on the result of the personality quiz. Now I just have to... start making the hack. What's funny is that making the hack (as opposed to the infrastructure, which is what I've been doing) is generally considered the "fun part" of hacking but, for some reason, I haven't been able to motivate myself to get started. :(

March 12th, 2011 2:46 PMPokepal17Thanks. :)
So anyway, how's your hack going? -
March 12th, 2011 2:38 PMcolcolstylesWell, the good thing about CS or Physics is that there are limitless applications for an education in either so you're bound to find a job doing something you love. :)
Good luck to you too. :) -
March 12th, 2011 2:35 PMPokepal17Basically the same as you. I really want to do Computer Science, but I'm also interested in Physics now because we built a hovercraft in my Physics class the other day. :3
The only problem is that I'm not sure what career I want...
Anyway, best of luck to you. :3 -
March 12th, 2011 2:07 PMcolcolstylesI'm still unsure but at the moment, I'm planning on studying Computer Science. And if not that, then something else Math/Science oriented. How 'bout yourself?
-
March 12th, 2011 12:01 PMPokepal17I wish I could agree with you, but time's flown so quickly that it feels like I'll be choosing tomorrow.
So what do you plan to study anyway? -
March 12th, 2011 10:19 AMcolcolstylesWell, don't sweat it too much. You've still got plenty of time.
Thanks. :) These next couple of weeks are going to be stressful, though. -
March 12th, 2011 8:29 AMPokepal17At the moment, I only have one choice - University of Waterloo. It's the only university close to here, and we can't really afford to pay for accommodation so it'll probably be only just that. A lot of my friends have parents who work at UW so they get their fees cut in half, but I don't. =(
I did have McMaster as a choice, but they want people you have a 95% average, and the highest average I've ever got is 94.75% so I still have a long way to go. However, I still have my citizenship in England so I could always apply to a British university. :3
Good luck with getting into the schools you want. :3 -
March 11th, 2011 8:18 PMcolcolstylesGood luck with that. Do you have any idea where you might be applying or is it still too early?
My top choices at the moment are MIT, Carnegie Mellon, and either UC San Diego or UC Berkeley. I don't really know where I want to go yet. I'm going to wait until I hear from everywhere that I applied to first. Then I'll visit all the schools that I get accepted to in order to find the one that's the best fit. -
March 11th, 2011 7:16 PMPokepal17I'm gonna be in the same position as you next year, having to pick a university and all that.
So what colleges do you think you may go to? -
March 11th, 2011 7:03 PMcolcolstylesThat's a spot-on description of my hacking life for the past two years.
School isn't great. Everything is boring and I can't find the motivation to do any work, especially so now because college decisions are beginning to be released. -
March 11th, 2011 5:35 PMPokepal17Tell me about it. First semester, I had all the time in the world, but I didn't want to hack. Second semester, I want to hack, but I've got enough homework to last me a lifetime...
So how's school going for you? -
March 11th, 2011 9:40 AMcolcolstylesIt can get kinda stressful at times but I don't mind. The thing that really bugs me is that I just don't have as much time to do my own hacking now.

March 10th, 2011 2:48 PMPokepal17I feel great sympathy for you; modding must be awfully hard, especially with a lot hackers these days lacking common sense.
