Then it's decided... GDW shall return. And with a vengeance!

No one puts any effort into there games any more. They all say "oh I can't code" - do they think I could when I started? Some of the members really get under my skin just because they are giving the game developers a bad name.

Well... none of them are as interesting, except for yours, Raptor, and... Ryen. What I mean is, Uranium is floundering, Malachite is locked, Lost World was gone a long time ago, they were all good games, and I realize that others take their place, but... the succesors... they're so boring. Has everyone forgotten the words of Dawson so quickly?

What do you mean where are all the games gone?
    I haven't noticed.
Games die off all the time and if the thread is more then a month or so old, it generally gets locked if the creator stops posting.

What... What has happened to GD? Where did all the games from, like, a month ago go? Why has it (mostly) died?

Yeah, that's no problem. Let me know how you want to conduct the interview.

Say, Neo Dragon, mind being in an interview for the fourth issue of GDW?

Yes... good. And hopefully they'll also be talking about that great old newspaper, GDW.

Anyways, I'm off to the land of the lost, or something. See you later.

    Oh, man I agree.
Like I'm the same way. I like discovering all that stuff out. There is a great sense of pride in knowing you did it yourself- with the odd tutorial lol.
On the topic of using the starterkit in the first place, I hate it lol... BUT...I'm glad people are using it. It makes the community bigger I guess. Which is a huge plus. Think about it, in a few years- these people will be talking about the good ol' days when Waudby used to steal tiles :P:P

I don't know... I still think it's a good idea. Although it does make me feel like the old way of programming (and when we all gave up, hacking) is very archaic (almost obsolete) in comparison to what they have now.

I mean, I remember when I first layed into a ROM of Fire Emblem. Nobody (except for the guys over in China, many of whom went on to get illegal careers in hacking) had done this kind of a thing in fire Emblem before: at least for the GBA. There's just something I find more satisfying about figuring it out for yourself as opposed to adding on to someone else's work.

Haha. I don't know man. The new members would boycott us (is that the way to spell that?) lol.

I think there should be a group for the old-fashioned game developers...

Saying what you want on the net....It's a double edged sword.
You should be able to look at the content you want and say what you want without feeling guilt or regret, but the rules of society still apply I guess.
You shouldn't insult anybody online, but shouldn't be afraid to post your thoughts on a message board (but then again- I guess that's why you can write blogs online- you can say what you think).
Just thinking about it now, I find it very hard to describe my feelings toward "free speech" on the internet ha.

    About removing the articles,
See, in one way of looking at you, you did the right thing. You removed anything that would seem offensive of disrespectful of Kyledove, Waudby and Moose- in turn, not making them feel hated. Which is of course, a great thing to do.

On the other hand, you shouldn't feel guilty about what you had wrote already and need to edit. The edit button should only be used if you want to add to your post, don't regret anything you have already clicked "Post" on. What you posted were your thoughts at the time.

I think those articles really added to your Issue. Rather then just reading a post of a review on a game, it felt like you were talking about the Game development community, and - well- it was like a proper news cast- keeping readers up to date with what is going on around them.

The game development section- while very competitive- has a small group or community feel to it. We kind of known each other in the sense of how we each act online and present themselves. I think your thread(s) will be popular if you talk about subjects that have popped up on our section because we can all have our say on it (provided the Mods don't close the thread lol). We can each post a view rather then "worry" about how many star rating our game thread has, ya know?

I see your point in my topic. Still, I founded the newsletter on the idea that it should be offensive to no one person. Moose didn't like my article about him, and I feel Waudby didn't either.

If my purpose is to spread the bad news, then where do I stand as a moral person. The internet is yours for the making, yes, but isn't there a line that has to be drawn?
