May 10th, 2016 4:51 AMFamiliaWerneckHey MrDS, can you help me with something "simple"?
-
September 6th, 2015 8:09 PMFamiliaWerneckOh, I get it now. I'll try that and see if it works.
Thanks man. -
September 6th, 2015 5:49 PMMrDollSteakYeah honestly I'm not really sure. But yeah Hydro Pump uses the A5 27 particle. So at some point in 1CE9EE there will be a set of bytes that are 02 XX XX 31 08. Just go to the pointer 31XXXX (I don't remember the exact number) and see if that also says A5 27 A5 27.

September 6th, 2015 5:10 AMFamiliaWerneckMy god, you are awesome. I'll check the thread again.
You have never found that bug before?
Also, I didn't get your instructions to use the old Hydro Pump animation.
I checked at 0x1CE9EE and 00 A5 27 is there. But I didn't get the part where I go to the offset in bold 02 XX XX 31 08 nor what I have to do in order to use the old Hydro Pump's animation after I go over there...
Sorry asking again, but SphericalIce couldn't help either, so... -
September 5th, 2015 6:36 PMMrDollSteakGo to the thread! It's fixed.
-
September 5th, 2015 5:18 PMMrDollSteakNevermind I see it now! Let me start debugging.
-
September 5th, 2015 5:18 PMMrDollSteakSo the issue is with retrieving pokemon?
-
September 5th, 2015 6:36 AMFamiliaWerneckhttp://www.filedropper.com/pokmonds5
You can find there my game, with your Rombase and 5 simple alterations (some fixes to your Rombase, infinite TMs, deletable HMs, Pokémon XP when catching a wild and some effectiveness testing).
Also, the .sav file, a save game when I was just about of picking an egg and my two Pokémon that were in the Day-Care, and another where I pick the egg and hatched it for some tests, but didn't retrieve my Pokémon so the game wouldn't glitch on me. -
September 4th, 2015 5:58 PMMrDollSteakCould you send me a save file with the day care bug? I suspect it might be something to do with the Egg Move Table.
-
September 4th, 2015 5:57 PMMrDollSteakWell I don't know what the Day Care issue is at all, I've been trying to fix it for ages, so really no idea at all.
Gray Squares is a typical issue for incorrectly loaded particles, its probably in one of the loaders. Go to the offset pointed to in bold: 02 XX XX 31 08. There are a few of them around the animation. It should have the number of the particle that is pointed to right at the beginning of 1CE9EE in 00 XX 27. -
September 4th, 2015 1:47 PMFamiliaWerneckSup man!
I'm sorry to come and talk to you here, but I think it's easier than the chat for "away communication".
Anyways, I was trying to fix the Day-Care glitch and I was getting FBI's help. Problem is he fixed the Cerulean Day-Care problem, and I'm looking at the Four Island Day-Care.
The Four Island Day-Care is also broke, and I'm not being able to fix it. I tried FBI's way, getting a clean Rom script for both the old lady and the old man, but that didn't work. I checked the bytes via HxD and they look the same for hundreds and hundreds of bytes. Don't know what the problem is, nor how to fix it. Also, I fastly tried debugging it, but as my skills at it are nearly 0, I didn't get much far.
Also, FBI told me to pass this to you, and he said "yip yip".
In a similar problem, I was trying to get Hydro Pump's original animation to use in another move. In your Rombase, Hydro Pump's animation is at 0x912210. In a clean Rom, it's at 0x1CE9EE.
I went to G3T and simply repointed "Animation Offset" to 0x1CE9EE. While the movement of the particles seemed alright, instead of water, the game displayed "gray square things".
Once again, I opened both a clean Rom and your Rombase with HxD, went to 0x1CE9EE and everything in both Roms seemed perfectly the same. That said, I don't know why Hydro Pump's old animation couldn't be used by just repointing the "Animation Offset" to its previous location.
Can you help with these two problems? -
July 30th, 2015 1:22 AMFamiliaWerneckWooow! Great time. Ok man, thanks!
-
July 29th, 2015 5:05 PMMrDollSteakUm usually about 5-10 minutes?
-
July 28th, 2015 3:42 AMFamiliaWerneckHey MrDS. I was just wondering, how much time did you spend on each icon on average?
I know they might vary a lot, but just so I know I'm taking too long or not... -
July 25th, 2015 5:16 PMFamiliaWerneckOk ok then. I think I'll try some, maybe post them for some feedback, but I'll stick to yours, probably.
Thank you a looooot, by the way.
