July 17th, 2011 2:59 PMMisheard WhisperWell, it's Monday morning . . . I spent the weekend at a friend's house, so no writing there . . . I've been spending the last day or so just chilling at the Get-Together, but this afternoon I'm going to get the reviews I've promised people out of the way and then start writing. First for the Small Writing Competition at the GT8, and then Champion Game and/or convalescence+convergence.

July 17th, 2011 2:43 PMLashhSo how is your break and the writing going?
I haven't found myself near the computer in the past couple days, I'm behind haha XD -
July 14th, 2011 9:58 PMMisheard WhisperAgain, that's the ideal goal. In reality it will probably be far less, but the more I can do, the better. I can't write anything until I've finished my planning for convalescence+convergence (I promised myself that!). My plan is currently at just over 4,500 words. :/ Looks like the fic itself will be . . . substantial. *sigh*
Well, it's only personal if people know it's about you. :< -
July 14th, 2011 9:51 PMLashhDamn, that's pretty impressive. That's a hell of a lot more words than I thought, haha. Well, I'm sure you can balance studying and writing time.
New Game was the first thing I thought about when I read the prompt. Anyways, the one shot I wrote for it was based on the first month of 2011 for me, but it was wayy too personal for me to send in, haha. -
July 14th, 2011 9:41 PMMisheard WhisperAh, but you see - 1,000 words is my weekday goal. I've written 16,000 words in one day before. It's not like I'm planning to do that every day, but I'd like to do a chapter a day if possible. So on the whole, more like 49,000 words. I plan to write non-stop if at all possible, but I have studying to do too unfortunately.
Yeah, I'll enter. I'm a bit pissed off, though - New Game would have made the perfect entry, considering the theme! D: -
July 14th, 2011 8:46 PMLashhSo you have 14 days off right? So I'm gonna take a guess at 14,000+ words? Are you gonna be writing non-stop?
Sorry to be barraging you with questions, but are you entering the GT writing competition? I was thinking about entering, I actually had a one shot done today, but I honestly don't think I'm gonna enter it because of what I based it on, though. -
July 14th, 2011 6:50 PMMisheard WhisperOfficially on holiday now~! It's time to get writing! (School's been out half an hour and I'm sitting in the town library with my laptop BD). Lol, summer partying. I have two weeks, and there won't be any partying going on . . .
Why thank you. It took me a whole ten minutes, lol. -
July 14th, 2011 12:20 PMLashhI'm on summer break right now, so I have most of this month to sit and write before school starts up again, lol. But knowing me, I'm not gonna end up getting as much done as I want to, summer partying haha xP
Then I just might have to join those forums then, I'll probably get around to it like... whenever, I guess, lol. And that's a cool ass banner you have there. -
July 14th, 2011 3:33 AMMisheard WhisperIndeed, it probably will. That's the plan, anyway. I have another holiday the next two weeks (starting tomorrow afternoon) so I'll be able to get lots of writing done on both stories. :D
No, you're right; they're probably not. Hmm, Bulbagarden . . . to be entirely honest, the fanfiction section is much more active than here. They're all very friendly and welcoming, for sure (they love newcomers. I turned up, posted Crushed and got nominated for a couple of awards that same week XD) But yeah, it's much more active than here, and more accommodating than Serebii (uncouth louts, the lot of them).
EDIT: ALSO THIS -

#wastingtime #shouldbewriting -
July 14th, 2011 3:18 AMLashhI get what you say by that. I'm still having some trouble wondering how some of the main events in my fic are going to turn out, but I'll cross those bridges when I get to them. And that statement is entirely true, it will make it seem all the more exciting to write and visualize. It will probably come out better, too.
And lets face it, the staff aren't gonna comb through your entire story and bust yo' ass for a few measly foul words, right? Anyways, I'm thinking about joining Bulbagardens Forums as well. How different are they compared to these forums? -
July 14th, 2011 3:10 AMMisheard WhisperAnd on top of that, I imagine it might be harder to 'connect the dots', so to speak. Not to mention that if you don't write them until you reach them, they act as an incentive to finish it and get to them!
Yeah, well, fair enough. I know exactly how to bypass the censor, of course, but I'd only ever use it in fanfiction, where the rules are, admittedly, a little less stringently enforced. Serebii is much the same in terms of restrictions, if not worse. Would you believe, it censored 'bastard' and 'hee hee'? (though I think the latter is in relation to a notorious troll they had a while back, or so I'm led to believe.) -
July 14th, 2011 3:03 AMLashhWhile I do see how that would be a good idea, I do see how it too could be counterproductive. Like, what if something that occurs in the course of the story that's tied to the ending changes in some way, which would mean you'd have to go back and make some edits. Anyways, I have the main parts of the story and the ending battles planned out- like the main Team Rocket battles and the final League battle. I just can't wait to get to those parts of the story.
That's something I've always disliked about this community. I love everything else, but the foul language restrictions.. well, restrict you, lol. On my old account, I remember every now and then I would get mad and fly off the handle and figure out a way to bypass the censors XD -
July 14th, 2011 2:55 AMMisheard WhisperI sure don't plan to. BD *knock on wood* As for things I really want to write . . . yeah. I have good portions of the end of Champion Game planned out, and I am often tempted just to go ahead and write them, then leave them for later to actually put in. I don't know if that would be counterproductive or anything, though . . . And writing this detailed summary of c+c is continually making me go ZOMFG I HAVE TO WRITE THIS NOWWWWWWW, which is a good sign.
Yes, blood. I'm not going to be afraid to kill off characters this time around - even canon characters, which for some reason tend to be immortal gods in most fanfiction. And I might end up only posting it on Bulbagarden, because there's likely going to be a fair bit of foul language and stuff, the likes of which they have much looser restrictions on there. (ie you can post smut there if you want) But we'll see how it turns out. -
July 14th, 2011 2:49 AMLashhWell, hopefully you won't give up on either it or CG, even though it doesn't even seem like you plan to detour from the latter, haha. You know, I think we might have the same amount of determination to complete our fics- one of my main sources of inspiration is wanting to write epic Pokemon League battles. Do you ever have parts you just can't wait to write?
Anyways, that sounds like an interesting concept. And blood? I like reading bloody fics :D mature rated fics are actually sort of an inspiration for me all their own- mainly because I plan to slowly pile this influence on in my fic as the story progresses. -
July 14th, 2011 2:29 AMMisheard WhisperYeah, I've not had time to write much CG during the term, but I wrote a seven-chapter buffer in the last term break, so I had one to post just about every week. With convalescence+convergence (the new fic) I plan to write at least fifteen chapters before releasing a single one. I might not stick to that, but the higher I set my goals, the further I'll get before I give up. XP
But yeah, I've written 1,817 words of synopsis for c+c just this evening, and I am really loving the look of it. It deals almost exclusively with canon characters, which I haven't really done before. *fingers crossed* It's a bit dark, it's gritty and there will be blood. :D
