April 28th, 2014 3:42 PMfenyx4Ah, no; haven't played The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker yet (except for a Wii U Wind Waker HD kiosk demonstration thing in a store), but it's nice to hear that you can fight a Poe as human Link, at least..
Oh, okay, then! XD Well, Hyrule Castle Town's citizens' reactions (at least at nighttime) seem to fit what you're going for, then; I distinctly remember some old dude within Hyrule Castle Town cowering in place as I (as Wolf Link) stood next to him. {XD} I guess you have to be more situated in the "establishment/city/town" areas of Hyrule, as not many people/humans seem to roam Hyrule Field and the like... Have you seen the reactions elicited by Wolf Link's form when you visit Ordon Village and Kakariko Village, perchance? :P
Now that I think of it, I wonder if Agitha strongly reacts to Wolf Link... -
April 26th, 2014 8:07 PMEl Héroe OscuroWell on the subject of the Poes, if you've played Wind Waker, remember when you fought the Boss Poe as Link? So I mean...I guess it's possible to hit him, as I think he's just invisible and Wolf Link allows you to see him.
And no; I'd rather just see the Hyrule citizens cower in fear by a wolf running through them, that was my intended purpose by that comment haha ~ -
April 25th, 2014 2:46 PMfenyx4No problems at all; I tend to be really late at replying to VMs myself... >.< Hmm, I can see what you mean.. Aside from bug-hunting, I think the main uses of "Wolf Link" were 'sensing' (it kind of got annoying during the times where you know that the foe is there even when Link is human, like the Poes...on that note, I don't see how Wolf Link can still "physically" attack them while human Link can't..the only difference is that Wolf Link can see what he's fighting.. >_>) and digging..
By interaction, I assume you mean like more "vocal" reactions (as in, you see/hear more of what people have to say in regards to Wolf Link, instead of just hearing generic screams as people flee/cower in fear)? (IIRC, people of Hyrule Castle Town flee in terror if you charge in there as Wolf Link, particularly at nighttime) At least the game was peppered a little with some nice "conversations" between Wolf Link and some of the other animals (the "Faron Woods bird" and the "Lake Hylia mini-game bird" come to mind, not to mention that Golden Cucco XD).
Really? Wow; nice! {:3} Agreed; great book! :) (Still have to see the movie, though.. XD) The only minor thing that bugged me was that Despereaux was (kind of) depicted as a daring (or at least willing to be daring) swordsmouse on the cover, using the threading needle as a makeshift sword. I think he prepares to use it on a foe, but said "swordfight" never pans out.. I don't know, I thought the comical idea of a timid-looking mouse using a needle as a sword was just adorable and interesting the first time I glanced at the cover.. Darn marketing tactics.. {XD} Nevertheless, it was a still a wonderful read! -
April 20th, 2014 4:05 PMEl Héroe OscuroSorry for the late reply! I think the only reason why I didn't like the wolf was because the whole aspect of the character design was one dimensional. I didn't mind hunting for the bugs the first time around, but the design of the game became repetitive with the wolf; it would have been nice if they spiced it up a little bit and they gave the wolf some new interactions with the game, like if you could actually interact with Hyrulians and see their reactions to you as a wolf.
And dude, that was an amazing book. Got it sitting on my bookshelf right in front of me haha. -
April 18th, 2014 1:08 PMfenyx4Sigh...still awaiting the day where we can directly quote VMs..Originally Posted by elheroeoscuroThe only thing I wish that they had done better with Twilight Princess was the application of the wolf. I had nothing wrong with Nintendo venturing in a new direction with this, it's fine and dandy to tread uncharted waters. The problem was that hunting bugs was not exactly on the top of my list when I thought of the things I could do as a wolf. That part of the game could have been better, in my opinion.
{XD} {XD} Sorry, but I noticed your quote on stranger/Link's userpage! As for me, the "Golden Bug-hunting" in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was fun at times, although it got agonizing when I usually had to wait until nightfall to find the ones that were a little more hidden (looking at you, Golden Bug inhabiting Gerudo Desert!). What other wolf abilities would you have liked to see? (the only one that pops up to mind is maybe Link temporarily coordinating with a rogue wolf pack or something in Hyrule or within the Peak Province...?).
Also, your username "elheroeoscuro" keeps on reminding me of the rat Chiaroscuro from The Tale of Despereaux. ^_^
