    Second review has this:
    First of all, some extraordinarily gratuitous events that needed to be cut, such as Krillin gathering up the gang again to train, have been left out and improved the series. Some cuts, however, have changed the story in an irrevocable manner. None of these are exactly necessary to the plot's core, which is fighting anyway, but they are all central to the development of the story and how the characters call out to us.

    - Vegeta and Nappa's apparent saving of and then ruthless destruction of Arlia is left out entirely.
    - Goku being captured by and tormented by Princess Snake is entirely left out (a hilarious episode before, I think).
    - Goku battling the red and blue demons and taking their fruit, gaining massive strength, are completely left out, so Goku has no apparent power jump just from reaching Kai's planet, changing how important Kai is to him.

    Again, none of these episodes being cut is necessarily awful nor great, but they all matter to how we felt about the characters and the story in the original, I think.

    Furthermore, I think that what we have seen from the Nappa versus everyone fighting so far shows us that the fighting will feel enjoyable, and probably not be condensed quite as much (although I could be wrong). The pacing of that felt really proper to me, so I think we can really look forward to future fights being fleshed out better than in the original.

    "Ok, so the story in dragonball has never been really complex or deep, but it's still fun to watch.
    In my opinion, the biggest improovement Kai has over DBZ is that all the anoying fillers are gone and now the story goes, mostly, acording to the manga. No more eternal power charging, no more eternal "he is so strong" internal monologues a no more feeling that nothing really happened in the last 10 chapters. Yeah there are some fun filler missing, like when goku and picolo go to the driving school, but in the end what is gained with the exclusion of the filler is far more than what is lost.
    I've read here that the story got cut out, that's not true, they just cut out all the filler that made the original Dragonball anime a pain to whatch for the poeple that have read the original manga."

    Wait, so is Kai just a reboot of Dragonball Z without most of the fillers?

    I've only seen a few episodes of Kai myself, though. But yeah, the fixed pacing was really really visible in the first few episodes. :D

    If the rumors about the anime are true, the description is just the tip of the iceberg haha. It apparently has a lot of stuff that you'd never think a mecha anime like it would have. Just like how Madoka Magica started looking like a normal magical girl anime and ended up being something that's a deconstruct of the genre and a slightly dark anime. :p

    And ahaha, I can relate. Why not watch Dragon Ball Kai, though? It is a remake of the Z series with fixed pacing issues (no more 10+ episodes for Goku to land on earth to battle Vegeta). Might have a little censorship, though, but I think it'll save you a lot of time. I'm sure you won't miss anything - it just cuts out a lot of padding that was originally there in the anime for it to not catch up to the manga. :p

    I just read the description of the anime, sounds intense! I'll have to look it up sometime, although I've already in the middle of a few animes already. I had decided to watch the Dragonball series because I missed it in my childhood so I'm in the middle of Dragon Ball Z....waaaaay too many episodes though /:

    I started watching Noragami too. :D I've seen two episodes. Want to see next but my sis forbid me from watching any more. She wants us to watch it together. Or she'll cry. :p So yeah ;____;

    And I honestly don't know yet. It is called one of the milestones in anime, one of the classics, one of the gamechangers, one of the biggest mind****s and plenty of other names. I've seen only 3 episodes out of 26 + some movies so I'm finding out myself if it is actually any good or just overblown. :p

    I've never heard of that anime before, is it any good?
