Um, interesting way of putting it. Plus it actually makes sense.

Hah, between Tropico, DKII, MCII, and TWEWY, my time is utterly consumed.

Unless the threatener is exactly the kind of person who would take your misunderstanding as an invitation to carry through with the threat.

    I wonder how stubborn.

Yeah...apparently, they submitted me to IQ tests early in my life. I guess they just wanted to find out whether I'm intelligent or not. Imagine their surprise when they found out that I'm, in fact, more intelligent than the average human. Oh, what I wouldn't give to have seen the looks on their faces...

My favorite (so far) is Dungeon Keeper 2. It's a strategy game where it's you job to build an underground hellhole, manage evil creatures, and smash everything bright and cheerful into little tiny bite-size pieces. Another is MechCommander 2. It's also a strategy game, but with giant robots. BUT, these are the BattleTech robots, whioch are five times better than almost any Japanese giant robots. Mainly because they actually stay within the realm of rationality. And it's less about resource management and more about blowing things up. Tactically, of course.

Uh huh. Solidify... So you're saying I'm like jelly crystals and my personality is water and age is the fridge? So when I was still just jelly crystals and water, I didn't mix well with other jelly crystals and water? So now I'm jelly and all my friends are jelly too, we like each other? ... Yum, jelly...

That's always a great way to pass the time.

That's always a problem. I'm very bad with subtle nuances and other things like that, so if you threatened me in a friendly way I wouldn't pick up on it. still, you can always pretend not to pick up on threats and see what that does to your, uh, supposed to be menacing figure...? Whatever. It's funny.

Oh... I can... be... stubborn... when I... wanna... be...

Hmm? Not advanced. Oh, maybe slightly advanced. Selective school. Most of the students are forced to take a selective test by their parents (including me) and the students with the higher scores which applied to a certain school they wanted to get into... get into the school. I didn't even finish the maths section of the test. I guessed a lot of the answers, too. I just had very good luck. Or bad luck if you're looking at it from my point of view. They expect you to be perfect, seriously. It's not like I ever studied before, so why should I start now?

Really? I know AOEIII isn't one of them because I saw it on sale at a gaming shop a few weeks ago or something. So what is downloadable?

Hm. Well, as people get older, they develop more. Maybe as your personality solidified, people who were similar to you in certain aspects whose personalities also solidified just....I don't know where I'm going with this.

Yes, especially when it gets a rise out of the a**holes who surround me.

Wait, returning to prior conversation: threats veiled so deftly as to be undetectable. It doesn't do any good if the threatee doesn't pick up on it.

Hmm. Well. I wonder how much longer it'll be.

Didn't you say you went to some sort of advanced school?

Basically, when a company goes belly=up, any of it's licenses that don't get picked up by another company. Eventually, the copyright on those licenses expire, and they become abandonware; they can't be legally sold, since there's no one left to turn a profit. So, the game's dedicated fans take their copies of the games, convert them into virtual images (perfectly legal now, due to the afrementioned reason), upload them to a file hosting site, and make them availiable for download. FREE download. There are a couple I play that I think are multipalyer online...

That I do. I don't think I've changed since I was in year five. What made me a loner in primary school drew friends around me in High. So strange.

Yeah, I think you told me that in one of our early conversations. I like acting like an idiot irl. It's fun. Online, it gets complicated when you act idiotic.

Uh... you used it out of context and wanted to know what was in context?

... Possibly... very... probable... in fact...

Hah. You've never met my History teacher. Or one of my Science teachers. Oh, and my Maths teacher.

Um... no. I know what abandon means, and I know what wares are, but...

Well, I was young. And stupid. Er, stupider. More stupid...ah, you get the point.

My "idiot" act has reached the point where it's entirely second nature to me now. I just instinctively act like a moron around everyone.

That works. Wait, what did I even need this for in the first place?

Really? Thinking of giving up soon?

Well, even if you are just humoring me, I appreciate it. And I happen to think that intelligent DOES equal interesting. As long as it's not to the point of vanity and condescension.

Hey, yeah, well technically no, but I played the first two. Hey, do you know what abandonware is?

Yeah, that was a doubtful plan. Still, in your shoes, I'd probably have danced with my pants on my head to get out. I don't appreciate being confined.

Well, I can never say what kind of performance I give. I'm not quite sure when I'm giving a performance.

Maybe you were looking for plain "veiled threat", not "thinly-veiled threat"?

This... really... is... getting... tiring... though...

Intelligence doesn't equal interesting. And that just means that I'm either extraordinarily naive or ready to believe in things that aren't supposed to be possible. Then again, being an alien, that shouldn't be too surprising. Still... I always wonder why my superiors chose to make me asian-looking.

Probably not. Age of Empires...III. It's a pretty easy game.

I meant irl, as well. There was a point where I thought convincing my supervisors I'm insane would, for some reason, cause them to let me go, but that didn't work.

Like I said, I tried convincing people I was insane to escape, but it didn't work. However, I thought I gave a rather convincing performance.

Really? There's wasn't a variation of it that means "subtle threat?"

    Uhh...I forgot.

Well, in all honesty, you're one of the more intelligent people I've had a chance to talk to. Plus you believed me, well, sort of. Which is pretty cool.

What game is that? Maybe I've played it.

Yeah, I do that a lot, too. I just get to rethink posting them when you're typing it on the net. So useful.

So useful. I've already visited the asylum. It was rather dull, and there was this one guy who wouldn't stop laughing. That got on my nerves. Of course, that was way back when I was naive enough to tell people that I came from outer space.

Uh... um... well, "thinly veiled threat" means that it's an obvious threat. I'm not coming up with a sentence that uses it, because doing that feels kinda stupid.

Wha...? Wasn't... the challenge... to tell... you... what else... we could... do... apart... from... wait and... see...?

Ah... I feel my head starting to fizz. I always felt I was rather boring. Meh.

Oh, I don't mind resource management. I actually own a very old game that requires it to some extent, and it's still fun. The game, not the management. I still play it from time to time. You get to kill people from other countries.

We'll see. I've said plenty of things that don't make sense, and I'm sure it's only a matter of time...

    Ah...the plea for insanity.

Well, how does the use of the words go, then?

Oh yeah? Then why are you still doing it?

Oh, I'm not re-watching it anymore; they've started up the new season, and I watch the newest five minute or so episode every Monday night. You can call it the highlight of my week. (Well, other than talking with you, of course...and I'm actually not joking about that.)

Tropico 2: Pirate Cove. But I doubt you'd like it; there's lots of resource management and whatnot. Unless you like that kind of thing. Oh, and if you actually want to try it, remember: Tropico 2. Tropico 1 is about a South American dictatorship.

    Yay, I'm good at this!

Of course. If I eve became a mass murderer, I'd probably plead for insanity, though. I'm sure several of my friends would support that argument.

Um... saying...? It's not exactly a saying, just... the use of the words... uh...

    Ah... challenge... I... give up...

I understand how you feel. How far have you gotten with re-watching it, anyhow?

Sounds interesting. Very interesting. What game?

    That's...right. Almost perfectly, in fact.

I'm sure several convicted mass murderers would say teh same thing. In their defense.

Wait, how does that saying go?

Well, nobody said it would be easy. Take it as a challenge.

Well, I'll probably keep making obscure references that you won't get until you do. sorry, but I can't NOT quote it, I just can't.

Man, this game is frustrating. It seems every time I tried, something went wrong. First I went broke with no way to get more money, then I got attacked early with no defenses, then everyone died of starvation...managing a pirate empire is a lot harder than I expected!

Uh, theoretically, you want to get a post up, but can't feel the creative juices flowing and therefore don't really want to write it up?

That's the perfect definition of what to do about life.

Um, "thinly veiled" means that it's obvious underneath something else, designed to enhance the threat itself. Um, "thin veils" means those bits of fabric that are pretty much see-through and mold to the shape of whatever they're thrown over? You know?

But... that's... such... a hard... request...

Yeah. I'm sure I'll think to watch it sometime. In the near future. Maybe.

No, we said that sarcasm was hard to convey over the net, not accents. Although that's true, too.

Ah, I'm not lazy. Okay, that's a lie, but I still want to post. Even if I don't want to. Does taht make sense?

So, there's really nothing I can do but turn them loose and see which way they go.

Well, there IS such a thing as threats so thinly veiled as to be undetectable; it doesn't help if the person you're trying to intimidate doesn't pick up on the threat. Fortunately, Matsu's plenty skilled already at being intimidating.

    I dunno. You tell me.

What can I say? It's the funniest show not on television.

Well, some of these pirates sound Scottish. Plus accents are really hard to convey over the computer...didn't we already say that at some point?

You don't have to if you haven't got anything. You've been trying for several days now, right?

Yeah, that's how my characters turn out. Sometimes they differ completely from their sign-up.

Who doesn't? Don't answer that; I'm sometimes hazy on threats. And slightly befuddled on pain.

Suppose...? What else... can... we do...?

And, ladies and gentlemen, more references to RvB.

Arr, me thinks you started speaking like a Scottish lad at the finish.

I'll try to scrape some sort of post together.

I'll probably keep them mostly as I originally planned, with a few minor alterations. In truth, I won't know how they'll turn out until the time actually comes.

True...although Kenji does understand threats. And pain.

    I suppose so.

Nope, that part I made up. I think. Unless I was unitentionally right, in which case I said something smart without realising it. *gasp* I had a Caboose moment!

Avast, matey. Are we be talkin' like pirates the whole time from now on? I dinae think I can do that.
