Awww, what kind of work do you do? I've had a problem getting a job, and I don't think I'd enjoy it either. My mother refuses promotions because she doesn't want to get more stressed.
Yep, got my name changed back! I've been working on my art for the AP Test and Portfolio for college. They're coming along real good, I'm happy! :) I just have to keep up with the assignments of the four art classes I have.
Ehhh, so-so. Tired, I feel like work is gonna gobble me up sometimes. I got a raise and a promotion, which is pretty cool coming from a job I didn't expect to stick with for longer than a few months. I'm still no more interested in the damn company than I was when I started, but it looks good on a resume so whatev'. Haven't had much time or inclination to post here anymore. D=
I did stalk, yes, but I didn't really see anything offensive. I assumed he edited out whatever it was he said.
And yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying. As long as you're going through the effort of making all those awesome sprites and tiles and maps and whatever, it just makes sense to give it a proper story... otherwise it just doesn't feel right, almost like a wasted effort. But then again, I'm a sucker for words; I like a good story. RPGs are my bread and butter.
Oops, forgot to reply before I went to bed. : ) That's why didn't say it out right, hoping you'd make the connection yourself.
.-. If the sprites and tiles were amazing as in they were in a totally different style and better than Nintendo's, or something like that maybe. But usually if you're creative enough to envision a beautiful world, you can create some story to go along with that world.
You didn't just stalk our conversations and see what he said? ;P
He was over reacting to a small comment you said and I didn't think that was fair at all, so of course I would voice my concern.
And yeah, story is pretty much the only thing that I really see as being important for fangames. Gameplay and gimmicks can never really reach the level of professionalism as the retail games, so why bother playing simply for that? Sure, the fangame community has alot of creative ideas, but they're never pulled off like the Big N does them. And playing games just because they've got pretty sprites/tiles is silly because... well... you could just look at screenshots. A good story pulls you forward, gives you a reward to work for.
By the way, don't worry about scolding HoF; I didn't see what he said so there was no harm done. Besides, I'm sure I deserved it. D: I'm honored you came to my defense, though.
