How many volumes are they up to anyway? Or episodes idk. I don't remember anything past Anita(?)'s initial involvement.

I lost it at that scene. The best thing about the game is seeing what each option takes you, but I did not expect that.
And that scene is even funnier once you beat the game...but I won't spoil. :P

There was finally a big case a year ago since god knows how long, and right now they're finally getting somewhere with a certain character. One thing that annoys me about DC is that they introduce a character that is apparently mysterious but it could take years to finally know about it. >_>

"Had he misunderstood life so gravely?" lmfao that was amazing

Very much so! I don't really mind that Conan drags a bit because it's all kind of case-by-case. Well, until the 20s iirc when they start actually delving into the thing that happened.

haha, me neither, but 999 is so well done that I actually did not mind that at all. I say give it a try sometime, and if you do, use a spoiler-free walkthrough. Trust me on that one.
By the way, it's not gross in an explicit sense. It's very suggestive, but there's rarely any scenery where they explicitly show you something. (Really, the worst is an image of a hallway splashed with blood) They're not afraid to tell you the details of certain deaths and all that, though. lol The worst thing about it is how tense it is, really. Some of the things some characters will do or some things that'll happen is extremely disheartening, but it's soo worth it.
Oh and there's nothing sexual haha, should have clarified that. There's one hilarious scene, but it's subtle and it's most the main character getting the wrong idea.
    Basically
    Spoiler:
One of the characters asks the protagonist what it feels like to be "wet". She meant wet from water because they were about to go down an elevator when theres a high risk of being submerged into the ocean since they were in a sinking submarine, but the guy gets the wrong idea and explains how some guys gotta do it. here's the scene in question

I love it, too! It drags tho and it doesn't show any signs of ending soon, but whatever. One of the reasons I loved Investigations so much is that it's basically Ace Attorney mixed with Conan. You know in case 2 when Edgeworth was trying to find out how the victim was killed then that rich guy slips and falls by accident and Edgeworth gets that "aha! that's it!" moment? That was such a DC scene.

nooo i never want that im an innocent child
(not rlly i just dont like gross things)

eeee I love Case Closed <3 I should go back to reading it someday. My school library had volumes 1-19 or something for some reason and it was the best thing to read while the librarian wasn't making me work (or when I was ditching class ahahahaha)

There's nothing suggestive or scary, so don't worry. It's mature in the way that it's believable and deals with real life problems in a sense.

If you want scary, gross, blood and all that, go with 999. It's crazy extreme but still well done.

I can't really think of anything that matches Ace Attorney's insanity and mystery though. It's really unique in that sense. The only thing I can think of outside of video games is Detective Conan/Case Closed, but that's an anime lol.

Is it mature in themes? Is it scary or gross at all? I really like AA's insanity, but I also like the build of a proper mystery type of thing.

I like it more than Ace Attorney when it comes to visual novels, but they're pretty incomparable. Hotel Dusk is much more slow paced, mature and realistic, and instead of multiple cases it's one big day broken down into 10 chapters where you figure out other characters' secretive problems and help them solve it while trying to go somewhere with your own problem in the progress. It's such a laid back game and perfect to play if you wanna sit down and relax, in contrast to AA being a total roller coaster of twists and zaniness.

Plus, Kyle Hyde is such a lovable dick. <3 One of my favorite video game characters.

Yeah it's much more of a story. I like that a lot actually. Since I like reading mysteries and whatever and figuring out the plot before it tells me. :P

I've seen Hotel Dusk things around a bit... it looks interesting. Maybe I'll do that.

To be fair AA isn't really that much of a game. Well, compared to other games.

Hmm, actually, I think better and more similar games (or rather visual novels) on the DS would be Hotel Dusk (noir setting detective story) and 999 (DEATH GAME)

I'm actually not that much of a games person. I'm honestly surprised I got as invested in AA as I did haha.

I love seeing people's reaction to the reveal. I know one thread in another forum where people were freaking out and breaking down everytime they reach that point.

Well you should! But I'm not gonna force you. I noticed a lot of Persona fans seem to love Ace Attorney as well, but I can't really say the same with Metal Gear Solid.

It's really the only case in the series that made me very tense and I literally shivered. Simon's mood matrix, Athena "fixing" her mom, the whole aura around the "Phantom", black psyche lock, the Phantom's theme.

Or maybe I was just tense and shivering because I was sick. :P

And yeah, my favorite is this one:

Actually I like this one a lot too:

You should check her Metal Gear Solid and Persona comics too...unless you havent played them and dont want to get spoiled.
