January 28th, 2015 2:43 PMSpinosaurusI made a Wario help thread on smashboards just a few days. I think it'd be a good idea post there so you can get help from others and not just me?

January 28th, 2015 8:08 AMGreenFlameHey! I've been using Wario more recently, because he's really fun with his aerials and mobility. I came to ask if you have any advice for playing him, because there's no helpful guides on Smashboards.
How should I generally play him? What should I be doing a lot and what are good situational strategies? -
December 16th, 2014 5:20 PMSpinosaurusIn the chat? Mostly Europe and US, but I've faced US people there without much lag. Shooould be OK, I suppose, worth the try. In the forum? Yeah.
Nearly all of them play on the Wii U now though, but I guess you could ask. -
December 16th, 2014 5:16 PMGreenFlameWould there be people from Australia on NeoGAF?
-
December 16th, 2014 4:54 PMSpinosaurusI hang out on NeoGAF, pretty easy to organize 2v2s there, especially in the IRC chat. (Which you can join if you want, btw, nice people there that play all the time!)
Doc's problem are two: Mobility and recovery. If they were decent at least I'd think he'd be really solid. He's just a shell of his former Melee self, though. -
December 16th, 2014 4:46 PMGreenFlameI'd actually like to try Wario/Wario, but whenever I try and organise some 2v2s with people (usually through Smashboards) with my friend as my partner it never gets responded to. Even if I look for just 1v1s. Even if I do get a response, it's probably people in the US (or with a bad connection) and then there's ping.
I still don't think Doc's got much over Luigi, unfortunately. I hope he gets some sort of buff in the future to make him a bit more solid. -
December 16th, 2014 4:26 PMSpinosaurusI guess one thing Doc has over Luigi is better air speed. Doc's damage output isn't as good as Luigi's though. I like the Doc too much to drop tho, prescribing KOs is just too fun.
Hilariously Wario/Wario is actually a real threatening team combination lmao. And it's less that they can't use him anymore and just that they'd rather switch to another character. (All newcomers now that I think about it :V) -
December 16th, 2014 4:20 PMGreenFlameHow dare you think Luigi couldn't be good?! Lol just kidding, I understand. But I actualy think he is very solid, his aerials are so good now that hitstun is back. He doesn't struggle to rack up damage at all, but finshing is a bit risky (but not really difficult). I also can't really see what Doc has better than Luigi, they both rack up damage well and finish well, but Luigi's recovery and offstage game is better as well as his zoning game. I still hope Doc can be good :).
It's sad when people switch mains because they just can't use a character anymore. But I think both Wario and Luigi are great doubles characters (maybe even on the same team lol). I don't really innovate much either, I like to watch Boss and see what moves he chooses to use at what times and why he does. -
December 16th, 2014 4:09 PMSpinosaurusI was admittedly one of the people the wrote off Luigi in this game, then I realized just how lagless he is. I struggle to think what Doc has over him, which kinda frustrates me tbh since I reaaally like Doc.
Even in Brawl Wario had few representations. I know some Brawl Wario players that switched to other characters because he just isn't as good here and isn't at all an easy transition to use since he's so different. I think he got
It actually sucks for me as a Wario player since watching high level matches helps my play. I'm the kind of guy that watches and adopts instead of one that innovates. :P I did find some cool stuff with him, mind. (DThrow combos into fair at low percents which actually follows up right after with a bite for amazing damage, and some cool bike throwing set ups that are impractical tho)
He's doing great in doubles though. Seems like he's still top in that format lol. -
December 16th, 2014 4:02 PMGreenFlameLuigi's getting a bit of attention thanks to Boss going around wrecking everyone with him. He's definitely got the tools he needs to be respectable in this game, and I'm glad he's not just some completely overlooked character now.
I hope Wario gets some representation. I actually like watching Wario matches, and I think he's got stuff going for him in the right hands. -
December 16th, 2014 3:45 PMSpinosaurusEh I honestly think ROB's in the bottom half of the roster. Still good, mind, but he doesn't have anything to really respect.
What do you think of Luigi winning two tournaments now? :P At least he's getting representations. There's barely any Wario players to put him on the radar. -
December 16th, 2014 3:43 PMGreenFlameOh, sounds like Brawl ROB was fun. At least he's still solid in this game (especially now that Meta Knight dominance is no more).
I'm in Australia.
I'm really happy with my main Luigi in this game. From Brawl he may have had an overall damage reduction, nerfed recovery, and less KO power, but it's not very bad considering his d-throw is epic now and hitstun is back (so he can really rack up damage now, mostly alleviating his nerfs). -
December 16th, 2014 3:34 PMSpinosaurusHonestly he was a lot better in Brawl because he could space so many characters and has so many cool set ups and ATs with the gyro (which are mostly gone now.) His sole problem there is Meta Knight which is why he dropped so bad as the game went on.
Yeah I'm in Europe, so that'd explain it. -
December 16th, 2014 3:21 PMGreenFlameI never really played R.O.B in Brawl, I hardly played anyone other than Luigi. What sort of shenanigans could the robot cause?
Yeah we can try again on the weekends. Maybe it'll be better, but I'm not sure because it could be because of locational distance. -
December 16th, 2014 1:57 PMSpinosaurusYeah ROB is one of my characters as well, though I honestly prefer him in Brawl than here. I miss his Brawl shenanigans. :(
Do you wanna try again durig the weekends?
