    Question is: How popular, exactly? As popular as it was during the kanto days? Or even as popular when Ash was journeying through jhoto?

    Btw, tu kaafi zyaada avatar change kar raha hai aaj kal. Kya hua, bore ho jaata hai kya? :P

    The Anime is still popular amongst the 10 year olds. Why would anyone want to risk losing their target audience?

    I see. Quite a lot of things can still be said against what you told me, though. But yes, since nintendo has chosen not to be a gambler as far as the issue of pokémon anime is concerned, there's no use talking over this topic. After all, ultimately, nintendo will continue to do what it is doing no matter what people like us say. :P

    I can assure you that you're not the first one who said that. But you know, the show will always be targeted towards kids. One might say that there are many teens and adults who play Pokemon games, but the fact remains that they have been doing this ever since they were kids and just haven't given up on them. By suddenly making the show more mature or making it more sensible to the us, things wouldn't be the same. Nintendo might just lose on their future target audience.

    Keeping in mind what you said, think about this: If you introduce Pokemon to an 18 year old, will he be interested in it? No matter how much 'action', they would still rubbish it as a kids' show.

    Well, if the anime has to promote the games, then all that makes perfect sense. But wouldn't it be beneficial to the sales of the games as well if the anime becomes more action oriented? I mean, if it does, the the number of people who watch pokemon would probably increase and that would automatically help in the promotion of the games, right?

    You're still missing the point. Look at this statement:
    How do you work out an Ash with an extremely powerful Pikachu going around beating every other Pokemon out there?
    The Anime promotes the games, first off, even though the storyline isn't the same. With every new region, Ash represents the new protagonist of every region. The Anime needs to show a progression in character development and stuff, so you can't start off with a Lv.100 Pikachu battling other native Pokemon of that region, even if you say that they can be high-leveled.

    Now think about this line:
    As the story progresses further, Pikachu will be powerful again.
    Makes sense?

    Uhh, the fact that Ash will have a strong pikachu (if the level resetting thing doesn't take place every time they enter a new region) doesn't automatically imply that ash will be the strongest guy in THAT region because there might be millions of other trainers like Ash who have travelled different regions and have strong pokemon. That's all I wanted to say when I wrote that last sentence. :P

    And haha, that's right. I should have posted in that thread. Felt like replying to you though. Idk why. XD;

    1. I don't understand the last sentence. Elaborate on that. ;o;

    2. What I meant was that you could have posted that in the thread. XP

    Because I felt like saying all that. Since you said 'The answer is no' so easily. Without even thinking about the fact that there can be other strong trainers Ash can deal with. :(

    Get over it people, Ash becomes a rookie trainer again and Pikachu experiences a level reset just to make sure that the show is a fresh start for the new kids who start watching. How do you work out an Ash with an extremely powerful Pikachu going around beating every other Pokemon out there? Would be thrilling? The answer is no. As the story progresses further, Pikachu will be powerful again. n_n;
    That, although true, SUCKS big time. And you know, if they actually refrain from level resetting Pikachu every time, it wouldn't automatically mean that Ash is will kick ass of any dude/lass that comes his way. The other party can be strong too. Maybe even stronger than Ash's pikachu who didn't experience a level reset. =(

    Also, I believe pokemon has the potential to be one of the greatest anime of all time. But the fact that they choose to let a show which has so much potential stay just like it is now is totally beyond me. Why limit the target audience only to children? Or 'new kids', as you call it? Why not make it a little like other Shōnen anime? ;;

    2. Get yourself involved in the on-topic sections especially Pokemon General or Groups. Loads of easy and casual discussions around there.

    3. Wut. There isn't any point no. three.
