And it made me really happy. Thank you for the thread, love. <3;
One Piece's anime is too slow. It gets awkwardly slow after marineford. Like, ridiculously slow. Which is why I shifted to the manga after that. I'm a manga only reader now. And pretty happy with it. :p
But yeah, true that. Oda does incorporate a lot of serious themes into the story. Of course, he has to cover it up massively to not make it a tragic seinen (manga/anime for older audience) but it still does retain quite a bit of its darkness despite possessing a goofy side at all times. Which is why a lot of people, including me, can appreciate it. I mean, sure, you can enjoy it as a kiddy adventure tale. But it isn't just that. It is more. Much more. :)
Oh, and I watched Nagi no Asakura just a few days ago! Brilliant art and animation (seriously!) and the story kept me hooked. I finished it in two days haha. Thank you for the recommendation, Jo! <3
I'll be honest I remember when you told me OP covered some really hot button issues like slavery, racism, death, abuse, etc and I kinda felt like yeah sure dero o-kay. But like daaaamn dude this muk gets dark.
Well how could I not celebrate my bestie's anniversary? :)
I mean I agree but ugghhh that whole arc could have been done in 10 episodes. Don't get me wrong I loved it and I'd honestly say Marineford is one of my top five arcs so far but so little happened over the course of those 80 episodes. Though, when stuff did happen, it was incredible. And I kind of like this trend of plot essential filler.
We're a good way into the three brothers story now, and I'm glad that they finally brought up Sabo. I've been wanting to know more about him for a while now! But the more I watch it (and OP in general) the more I'm like damn this muk was on kid's TV. There is waaay too much adult content and dark themes for children.
That thread was just sweet, you know? Thank you so much for that, Jo. <3
Yeah, Whitebeard could've sunk the place down. But he didn't because he was worried about his own crew-mates. :p But even if he wasn't, just bringing hell down on earth is usually the most easy option there is as a solution to most problems in stories but plot convenience is something that prevails most of the times haha. This can just be chalked up as one of those. Not like there's a lack of those conveniently placed plot threads and events in One Piece but that still doesn't exactly detract from the amazing journey that is One Piece.
Keep watching and keep me updated. :p We'll talk as much as you want to. It'll even become easier now what with my decision to come back to PC in general - properly this time around. :3
PSSSHHHH hey we like to take our time on these things.
I... agree. I'm going to keep watching as far as I can, but I've been reading the wiki and.. sooo... yeeaaahhhhh (i'll be honest i spoiled the psyduck out of it for myself BUT I COULDN'T HELP IT SERIOUSLY). Don't get me wrong it's awesome but the show just isn't going to be able to do it justice, especially if there's existing problems with pacing and such. Good to know the manga is still going strong tho.
But yeah we're doing OP again and it's psyducking amazing so I'm just going to keep yelling about it tbh.
Although to be honest I've kind of stopped watching One Piece, lately. The anime has started sucking balls what with mukty animation quality and crappy pacing after time-skip. So I stick to the manga these days. Which has been amazing for a good while now. <3
But yeah, just watch moar and moar! Post-marineford stuff is pretty good, too. :'D
Also, listening to music on those headsets like a baws right now. Seriously, I can't ever thank you enough for them! Love them so much! <333
