June 13th, 2009 7:06 PMArtemisUnless the Elite Arc has a lot of basic fillers, which it shouldn't. However a return to Johto and new contests for Dawn will promote the new HG/SS games and add a great series for the return to Johto.
Lol, yes this is where the anime becomes confusing! -
June 13th, 2009 6:39 PMClover CatMm, I suppose. But I do think he'll have to go back to the BF before 5th gen, since I doubt the challenge against the Elite Four would last 100 episodes. But yeah, reusing Monferno during his challenge against the BF would seem logical. Actually, maybe he can use this period to evolve some other pokemon he has, like Bayleef and Buizel.
Oh, okay. Except maybe Paul. XD The whole goal of trying to become a 'pokemon master' is kind of strange to me. What exactly IS a pokemon master? They never define it in the anime, despite the emphasis on this little mantra. Maybe being Champion of Sinnoh would help in this goal, but I really don't think it would help him become 'the ultimate pokemon master'. Yeah, there have been so many hints, it just goes back to the whole 'defeating the League and challenging the Elite Four' topic. -
June 13th, 2009 6:30 PMArtemisI think using it against Team Galactic and Volkner seems very probably and possible. Though, before his journey to the new generation, it is more than likely he'll travel back to an old region for a the Battle Frontier or continue in Sinnoh to challenge the Elite if he wins the League. With this beings said, he can keep Monferno with him and during that time lapse it could evolve again.
When I say before, I meant a tougher battle overall against anyone else. Or at least it should be that way seeing as this is the Elite Four of Sinnoh. Yeah, Ash becoming a Champion now will like end it all, because he'd be trying to achieve a goal where he is counted as Champion in one region. However, I doubt he'll win against her. Though, the anime is calling for a battle against Cynthia and Ash sometime. -
June 13th, 2009 6:22 PMClover CatI'd like to see Monferno evolve, but since it's taken this long for Chimchar to evolve, the time difference between the two evolutions wouldn't be very reasonable, unless Ash explicitly uses Monferno for the rest of the season, against Volkner and maybe against TG. Lol, that it would, especially since we've seen what he's done in the movies. XD
What do you mean 'before'? Ash hasn't faced the Elite Four before, unless you count Agatha, and he lost anyway. Again, Cynthia's Garchomp totally owned Paul, what chance would Ash stand against that? XP And yeah, like I said, that would kill the anime. Unless they come up with Ash saying something like 'I want to train even harder to become an even better trainer!' which would be stupid. Ash, if you're a champion, I don't think there's anything better then that. XD -
June 13th, 2009 6:11 PMArtemisActually, I want Monferno to evolve again later down the line, because Ash is in need of a new Fire Power House rather than having to rely on Charizard all the time. I doubt Ash will go into depression, it just would seem to be too much after Ash has been into a lot more difficult situations.
If Ash wins, no doubt they'll allow him to reach to Cynthia. Of course, I'm sure they will make the Elite a lot tougher of a challenge for Ash than before. However, I doubt Ash will win against someone like Cynthia. It just wouldn't work as that will make Ash a champion? XD -
June 13th, 2009 6:05 PMClover CatAh, okay, for a second I thought the second part had been released.^^; I've already seen part one on youtube. Chimchar evolving will be cool, but I hate Monferno. Infernape looks so much more awesome. XD Unfortunately I can't see Monferno evolving at this point. I guess so, but it would be sort of repetitive. Ah well, I agree with you, as long as he wins against Paul at the League I'll be sastisfied, even if he loses this battle. ^^ If he does lose, though, I hope they don't make him go through a state of mental depression like they did with Dawn...>.>
Yes, I agree. They never put much reference to the Elite Four in previous seasons, so why do it now? Because of the possibility that he might win the League. There's no way he can beat Cynthia, though, since that would totally kill the anime. I'm not sure how he would fair against Lucian, but I really think that since Flint and Ash are similar in personality (if the game is anything to go by), Ash'll at least make it to him, if he does win the League. -
June 13th, 2009 5:38 PMArtemisThe episode is a two parter, last Thursday they aired part one [View Pics Here] I do happen to know that in the preview Chimchar will be evolving, which is exciting. Tradition would be nice though, but I'd hate to see Ash kind of lose again. However, a nice satifying victory against Paul will please me enough.
I don't know how or if they will work out Jasmine in the anime, but it'll be really cool to have her seen again. Though, if Ash wins the League, I can see him making it to Cynthia, but losing. I mean this is why Cynthia is getting so much attention and references to Elite battles I would think. -
June 13th, 2009 5:18 PMClover CatYesh yesh, it's just one of the reasons why I love the manga so much more. :D The third arc completely revolved around romance, actually, so that was a nice surprise. Although it kinda got nullified in the later arcs since Ruby 'forgot' that little relationship. >( And here I thought there would actually be a canon ship in Pokemon...T^T
Waitwaitwaitwait...There are pics of the episode out!? Or are those just of the previews? Anyway, if Ash does beat Paul, wouldn't it be kinda lame if he ends up facing him again at the League, since he would have to win against him the last time they battle? Unless the writers stray from tradition...Which I would hate, since it's the one time I want them to. >.>
If they do have Ash win the League, I think he'll at least get to Flint. I can imagine a kind of rivalry going on there. ^^ So Bertha is her name? Good, I keep confusing her with Agatha...^^; And Jasmine returning will be cool. I can totally see Brock flirting with her. ;) And you're right, it would be a good chance to introduce Magnezone. They'll probably have Jasmine team up with Ash and co. in blasting TR off for some reason, which Volkner sees and agrees to Ash's challenge. But if they did it would be cliche, especially if my prediction turns out to be correct. I NEVER get my predictions right. XP -
June 13th, 2009 5:03 PMArtemisYeah, the anime doesn't too much go around the idea of romace. I guess they just never thought of any interest for implementing it. Which like you said, gives the Manga a bit more reality to it.
I hope he doesn't lose, but from current pics and previews of the second part, Chimchar finally evolves and seems to be kicking Paul's butt! Exactly, the Elite Four all appearing at certain times so far has interested a few people and wonders why they are doing it so much now and maybe it is a clue that Ash will win the League and go off to challenge the Elite and then Cynthia. Yeah, Bertha might end up being next at some point and Flint may pop up in with Volkner. However, I think Jasmine from the Johto may guest appear to showcase Megnezone in the anime. -
June 13th, 2009 4:55 PMClover CatI mean he hasn't matured romantically wise. If you hit puberty, you begin to notice the opposite sex more often, and become more romantically involved. I know he isn't nearly as much of a shounen tard as he was before, not to mention his ego's taken a few hits, so that's fine, but I just don't see how he can be this oblivious to girls. Although since Red in the manga is even more oblivious then he is (and at age 16!) I guess it's okay. Although in Red's case the hints are even more obvious then in the anime. *sigh*
Oh yeah, I forgot that Ash probably will have to face Paul at the League...But does that mean he'll lose the current battle? I hope not, I can't stand Paul...And people have said this before, but if Ash doesn't come closer to winning in this League, then what was the point of all the character development on the Elite Four? The only one that hasn't been brought up yet is Bertha ( I think that's her name. And I'm automatically counting Flint because that would be straying waaaay to far from the game if they don't include him.). -
June 13th, 2009 4:43 PMArtemisNo, there I must disagree as if you watch the anime from before and progress to what it is now, you'll see the difference in Ash. He has gradually matured, but of course they've kept some immaturity of him to keep the show going. Though, Ash may get up to either winning it or coming in close. I just wish he defeats Paul at the League, that is my biggest wish.

June 13th, 2009 4:20 PMClover CatIn the dubbed version, yeah. Also, in the dubbed version, he sounds like he's on crack, or something. At least to me. In the original version he is still voiced by the same person after the PAST TEN YEARS. I know that time flows differently in the anime, but I don't think he shouldn't age after all that time. >.> Sure, maybe he's a better trainer, but I don't think he's matured that much over the seasons. And speaking of that, if he doesn't manage to get a higher rank in the Pokemon League this year compared to his last few tries, I'm going to be really disappointed, because it pretty much proves that he HASN'T become a better trainer.
-
June 13th, 2009 4:08 PMArtemisLol, no I don't think so. Actually wait! His voice changed XD.
-
June 13th, 2009 2:09 PMClover CatIt does, and it just goes back to how much more realistic the manga is compared to the anime. I mean, has Ash even hit puberty?? @[email protected]

June 13th, 2009 1:59 PMArtemisYes, I have heard that the manga influences more romatic aspects than the anime.
