January 8th, 2012 12:25 PMEsperはん (半) gets used in some compounds like 半島 ("half island" a peninsula), but if you mean like you want to say you have half a bag of cookies or something you'd probably use はんぶん (半分). So like this sentence: 人間の半分は女です。 "Half of humanity are women."

January 8th, 2012 2:14 AMEliminator Jr.Okay, actually, I have a question right now (though it's just out of curiousity, not for what I'm learning right now aha): is はん used to mean "half" at all aside from when telling the time?

January 8th, 2012 2:10 AMEliminator Jr.No worries, and thank you! :D

January 6th, 2012 1:12 PMEsperI was just looking through my blog and noticed you replied like a month ago. Sorry I didn't see it until now. But you can totally ask me Japanese questions whenever.

October 8th, 2011 1:43 PMEliminator Jr.I would not have picked that you would have liked that in a heartbeat. Haha, well I've got no clue what LITE songs to recommend now. I don't like all their stuff, they've got a couple of weird releases as well as good ones, so I'll let you be the judge. Glad you liked it though.

October 8th, 2011 10:12 AMEsperMy turn to say thanks for posting a song. Ghost Dance. I'm going to have to look into that.

October 6th, 2011 7:37 AMEsperI'm glad you like. I was just listening to it because it's raining and it felt very appropriate.

October 5th, 2011 7:34 PMEliminator Jr.Thanks for posting about Anoice in that Culture & Media thread. I just downloaded Remmings and I'm really enjoying listening to it (at first I thought Liange would be the one song off the album I liked, but even before finishing the first untitled track I knew it wouldn't be).

September 30th, 2009 6:31 PMEsperI'd suggest checking youtube or some other place so get a feel for the sound before you buy anything. Just in case you don't like it.

September 30th, 2009 6:18 PMEliminator Jr.Okay, I'll get that one next time I go and get an album. Thanks for the advice.
-
September 30th, 2009 6:04 AMEsperReally? Takk is my favorite. If you didn't like that then maybe you'd like the untitled album that gets written as ( ) most places. It's less... intense than Takk. You could also try Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust

September 29th, 2009 11:03 PMEliminator Jr.Yeah it's a guy called Matthew Cooper. The album I've got as my avatar is almost entirely just piano instrumental. Really simple songs but they're really good as well. I haven't got any of his other albums, though I'm planning to get them sometime soon. If you ever do start to listen to Eluvium a bit more this album's definitely great to start on.
Which Sigur Ros album do you reckon I should get to start listening to them (I figure you like them because of the video)? I got Takk but didn't really like it and my friend said I should've started on a different one. -
September 29th, 2009 10:02 PMEsperI don't listen much to him/her/them (no idea who makes the music) but the artwork is memorable.

September 29th, 2009 9:48 PMEliminator Jr.Yeah, it's Accidental Memory in the Case of Death. I'm surprised somebody recognized it so quickly - I'm not being like one of those people who are like "it's only cool if nobody's heard of it", I'm just actually surprised because it doesn't have any writing on it or anything. Good spot. Do you listen to much Eluvium? I only just got into his music a couple of months ago. Really pretty stuff.
