I'm a modest person, but I'm not being overly modest, I think.

Thanks, but no, I don't have any plans for doing it other than for fun. There's still a big gap between what I can do and even some of the people here at PC.

It's a good start. Sorry, I'd say more but it's past midnight here and I should be sleeping. But anywawy, why not try some simple coloring. Pick a couple of not-too-dark, not-too-light colors for each part and fill those in. Then add a lighter version of each color for a highlight and a darker version of each color for shaded parts.

Don't be afraid to show whatever you come up with. But if I'm going to give any advice I'd say that when you feel like you've completed a sprite - as in done all the line work and color and shading and stuff - that you save it and then take a look at it the next day. Give yourself some time after working on it to get some perspective and you might find some way to make it better that you didn't see while you were working on it. But always keep a copy of the finished sprite and save any changes you make as a separate file just in case you don't end up liking the changes you made.

I don't think there's any secret besides practice. Personally, I'm always looking back on things I made months before and seeing things I didn't see before, little things that I feel I could do better on so I change and update them. The avatar I'm using right now started off its life as a much lesser sprite. I don't think I still have the original, but this is how it looked after I'd changed it a little and you can see how it looks now.

Thanks. And I do sort of know you inasmuch as I've seen some of your posts.

I have had a thread or two in the past, but I haven't updated the last one in months. I have some older stuff sitting around in an album though.
