Yes, indeed. I've read transcripts of some of his speeches and interviews... I wish to meet him before his time is up.

He's a pretty great person from what I can tell, very witty and funny in person too (I saw him very briefly at a book signing before I knew who he was) and people like that deserve nice long lives.

It is very sad, yes. He is very optimistic, though.

I haven't read Unseen Academicals, but I have read Monstrous Regiment and I think Nation was at least as good as that.

It's a shame, really, since you can see he's gotten better over time, but there probably won't be many more books.

I enjoyed Nation as well, but it didn't appeal to me as much as the later Discworld novels. Pratchett has started to deviate from the older characters' stories a bit, but still has some of them help the story along a bit. I quite liked Unseen Academicals and Monstrous Regiment because there were very few previously used characters appearing in them, but I still have a fondness for the older story arcs.

I might. I think I was just burnt out on Discworld and the same characters popping up. I remember now that I read Nation not long ago and really enjoyed it.

I think you should~ I really liked Making Money. It is one of my favorites. Along with Night Watch.

I don't really remember. Maybe a year or two ago? Whenever Making Money came out. Still haven't finished it.

Yes, but not as much as I used to be after reading most of his books and burning out.
