October 12th, 2016 9:56 AMSomewhere_Thank you for reading my story! I dont think ill rewrite it because when I finish producing something, I dont like to touch it again in general. Maybe Im just weird. However, I am interested in writing another short story with a lot of imagery.
I used to read many science fiction books. All the time. I haven't read fiction in a long time outside of what is required for school, and I have been reading nonfiction political and economic books. I have read a lot of Puritan Age literature as well. Nothing super long, just poems, journals, and excerpts from Jeremiads and stuff. Its also interesting in tandem with history, like how the Puritans broke from the Anglican Church and formed Congregational churches in New England, which not coincidently was also the center of the American Revolution. -
October 12th, 2016 9:34 AMEsperI'm not really a fan of particular genres as a whole, just some authors in them. Like, I enjoy fantasy, horror, scifi, and all that, but I can get bored with them if the particular book isn't what I'm looking for. I did just read all the Earthsea books by Ursula Le Guin, and they're some of my favorites, but I'm currently reading a book called The Birthgrave by Tanith Lee and I really don't care for it. They're both considered "classics" of sorts in the fantasy genre, but they are pretty different in style and substance.

October 11th, 2016 2:26 PMSomewhere_I know! :D
I just wanted to make it clear that Im not a racist because I detest it. Because I am defending the Alt-Right and am very familiar with it, the reader would probably think I sympathize with their beliefs, and because the Alt-Right is often seen as racist.... by extension people might think I'm racist. I said that just to make it clear to everyone reading it, not you!
So ya, want to talk about books? What are your favorite genres and authors?
you should read my short story in the writing subforum! -
October 11th, 2016 2:07 PMEsperHey, I wasn't trying to conflate you with all of that. I was just using the "you" in a rhetorical way to mean "whoever" or "anybody".

October 9th, 2016 11:07 AMSomewhere_What type of books do you enjoy reading? Music?
You should check out my new short story in the writing subforum and LegendChu's Elimination game in the pokemon general section!
I think i want to write another short story, but idk want I want to write about. But I want the story to be an argument if you know what I mean. -
October 9th, 2016 9:57 AMEsperSpare time, what's that? I just, you know, relax. Watch a movie, listen to music, read a book, really typical stuff like that because I use it to unwind.

October 8th, 2016 4:14 PMSomewhere_just got home from hanging with friends. Im pretty proud of myself. I have gone out every weekend since the end of summer. Last year i went out no more than like 4 times throughout a whole year. I'm so much happier now and less stressed as a result.
My best friend and i went to this mexican place thats like our go-to place. I know the owner and a few people that work there, so its always fun. and the food is great!
Now i gotta do homework. I have two political theory essays to write for class and 3 tests Monday. rip lol. Ill do fine except my english didnt tell us we had a test and didnt say what was on it. so rip. And i always hate bio.
But I love writing for political theory. I have some interesting essays if you are interested. I think i owe someone one actually lol. Right now I am writing which US political party I most closely identify with and the presidential candidate I support.
So what do you do in your free time? -
October 8th, 2016 8:38 AMEsperNothing today really. Just gonna be relaxed and do nothing. What about you?

May 11th, 2016 1:38 PMSomewhere_She had a kiln in her garage?! That is awesome! I bet that thing made her electric bill through the roof lol.
Ancient history is really interesting as well. And 20th century has a ton of important stuff: WWI,WWII, rise and fall of Soviet Union, decolonization, civil rights movements, EU, NATO, men on the moon, and me of course (jk). Im probably forgetting a few other stuff. There was a bunch of crap with the Cold War too.
Economically, Keynesianism was popularized and the 20th century (though more the 19th century) spelled the end of classical liberals and classical economists.
In culture, there were a bunch of cool art movements. I dont find this particularly interesting and I dont know much, but dadaism, pointillism, pop culture, postmodernism, surrealism. probably other stuff i dont know. You probably know more. xD -
May 11th, 2016 10:21 AMEsperOh really. My grandmother taught me ceramics. Basic stuff like using a potter's wheel. She had a kiln in her garage.
Not gonna lie, 18th and 19th century European history isn't my favorite area of history so I only have a rudimentary knowledge of that time. I prefer 20th century world history and ancient history myself. -
May 10th, 2016 7:35 PMSomewhere_That is super cool! I try to draw, but im not that good. However, I can do ceramics and run a ceramics club that donates to a local charity.
I am currently writing a story for english class that is pretty okay I guess. Its supposed to be modeled similar to Franz Kafka's "Metamorphosis." Like the styles he uses (ex: long sentences, use of dashes, ambiguity, etc).
I love history. its my favorite class. Its really useful when talking about politics and economics in my opinion. And philosophy. Like how the Enlightenment created the Classical Liberals and Physiocrats that lead to democracy and capitalism, and how this spelled the end of mercantilism. Im not going to lie, I am a big fan of Locke and Paine. xD Mostly the works that come from them, but I have have read a bit of Paine, but school is getting in the way. :/ Locke is great on natural rights and defining property in my opinion, but I totally disagree on him with social contract theory. Paine is great at pointing out contradictions in England's constitutional monarchy, but fails to apply these same principles to democracy (although he did write much of his work in 1776, conveniently right before the United State's great experiment with a republic). Ill have to look more into his opinion on our checks and balances system, but his pamphlets certainly influenced the colonies, so I am surprised we ended up with the checks and balances system, but at the same time not. It was the best system at the time (although Hans-Herman Hoppe has been making a great case pro-monarchy over democracy, but I haven't read his work yet).
Im going to bed now lol. idk why i wrote all of that. im weird. it probably doesnt even make sense because it lacks logical order and probably decent grammar, but whatever. -
May 10th, 2016 7:06 PMEsperNo, I'm terrible at drawing. -_- I do some simple digital stuff like this:
Otherwise I write. That's about the limit of my artistic abilites.
But yeah, history, good stuff. (b'')b I studied history in college. -
May 10th, 2016 6:45 PMSomewhere_Do you know how to draw well?
I just finished history, which covered European history from the edge of the middle ages to about 2010. And the rest are the regular english, math, chemistry, blah blah.
Ill be taken an economics course over the summer, and I study some philosophy, economics, and political ideologies on my own (mostly my political ideology, supplemented with others). -
May 10th, 2016 6:15 PMEsperUsed to watch anime, not so much now. Haven't found anything lately that interests me. So mostly it's doing art projects or reading or whatever I have time for.
Yeah, summer is coming. Beach weather for sure. What are you studying in school?
