March 24th, 2010 10:59 AMDreadnoughtWhen you breed a pokemon for battle. There are some pokemon that are stronger than others in certain stats. Jolteon is very good with Special Attacks and having a high Speed. So you would want to put EV's (Effort Values) into Jolteon's Special Attacks and Speed so that you can max those out. You decide how much EV's you want to put in a stat in a pokemon, you can only put a maximum of 510 EV's in a pokemon.
Go ask for more information here:

March 24th, 2010 10:55 AMrainbowYes but what is an EV spread, how do I find it out
-
March 24th, 2010 10:48 AMDreadnoughtWhen people look for pokemon to use in Wi-fi battle, they always look for pokemon with high IV's and what EV spread the pokemon has.
So when I ask you for the IV's, EV spread, and nature of a pokemon you should try and tell me the following about your pokemon:
Take this as an example:
Pokemon: Salamence
Nature: Adamant
IV's: 31/31/29/31/26/31
EV's: 252 ATK, 252 SPEED, 4 HP
You want to provide this information whenever you can. -
March 24th, 2010 10:45 AMrainbowSo the EV spread is the 3 highest? :confuzzled:

March 24th, 2010 10:43 AMDreadnoughtWhen someone asks for EV spread usually they are looking for the following:
Example:
Charizard
Sassy
252 SP.ATK, 168 SPEED, 84 HP
Moves:
You can check IV's with an IV battle (take 6 recently hatched pokemon go for a wifi battle that levels up the pokemon to 100 and enter their level 100 stats into an IV calculator) or use Action Replay to check IV's. Though sorry I am not interested in Charizard as it is not what I am looking for. Good luck with your thread. -
March 24th, 2010 10:38 AMrainbowI think the EV spread is SP.ATK
