March 27th, 2010 10:52 AMIvysaur...and right now I'm going to watch Mallorca - Barça XD
Messi, Xavi and Piqué aren't playing today, this will be interesting. -
March 27th, 2010 10:36 AMDreadnoughtRCD Mallorca seems to be a good candiate and I do enjoy following their games. Palma De Mallorca also seems like an awesome place to visit;

March 27th, 2010 10:33 AMIvysaurWe used to have closer championships until 2006... then something broke and Barça & Madrid are on their way to the 100 points. But well, let's hope a small team can ever get in the fight for the top places.
And that's a really ample list of possibilities XD -
March 27th, 2010 10:21 AMDreadnoughtI wasn't being defensive, sorry if my previous VM sounded that way, I did not mean it too LOL XD. I do plan to visit Spain in the very future so of course I'll be catching matches if I can watching Barca, RM, Valencia, or Sevilla depending where I end up.

March 27th, 2010 10:17 AMIvysaurWell, there is no need to get so defensive- I was just commenting that, well, America has other mass sports, and European football is rarely followed there. It's always nice to see someone interested on it.
The vast majority of the Premier matches are fun and entertaining. If you ever come to Spain, I highly advise you to watch a match involving two of the top 8 teams, specially if one of them is in the top 4, otherwise you might find really boring craps. I can assure it, I check the commentaries about all the matches every week (journalism student here).
And well, I know hundreds of ignorant, arrogant and self-righteous Europeans :C It's a common disease everywhere. -
March 27th, 2010 7:32 AMDreadnoughtContrary to what the American stereotype is, I do love Football. I love watching La Liga, Serie A, Premier League, Champions League/Europa League and Bundesliga. I know that when I am in Europe in the future, I will be sure to go watch a match in every major Football League in Europe. Football is the best sport because you literally have no idea what the outcome is, I mean you probably remember the USA vs Spain match and how that ended.
I also like to show that not all American's are ignorant, arrogant, and self-rightous. There are American's who do know the world outside the U.S contrary to what the rest of the world believes and do enjoy studying history (Like me I enjoy reading on Military History). Every country has some bad apples and I find it stupid to judge an entire culture and country based on the actions of a few. -
March 27th, 2010 7:21 AMIvysaurHonestly... last year, the Barça fans had to be escorted out of the stadium an hour after the match had ended to prevent fights with a few angry braindead hooligans supporting Madrid. But it's just a problem of special matches between long enemies. You won't find any problems in a Valencia-Valladolid.
And it's really unusual to find an American guy so interested in football XD -
March 27th, 2010 7:11 AMDreadnoughtDamn didn't know about safety stuff like that O.o. Though it is awesome that you have been to a La Liga Match. I hope to go be in Spain in the near future and go watch some La Liga live, see El Clasico and get a ton of La Liga stuff that I can't find here in the US.
-
March 27th, 2010 7:07 AMIvysaurThe problem is, if I ever were to the match, I'd need to be in the Barça side for my own safety... and all the tickets for their zone are already saved from the guys from Barcelona, so no XD
I have been to a At. Madrid - Barça, and I sincerely find these matches more entertaining. They usually end with 7 goals between both sides.
El clásico, I usually watch it with my friends in a pub nearby, where I act as the crazy guy who doesn't support R. Madrid XD Last year, I got an extra plate of tapas when Piqué scored the 6th goal for Barça XD -
March 27th, 2010 7:01 AMDreadnoughtHey awesome to see a soccer (football fan) around here. Great to see more people who watch CL and EL (Europa League). If you live in Madrid have you ever been to El Clasico?
