Ah, thanks for the input. I'll have to check and see which Unown it is. :-]

I do have a laptop but never think to use it during a storm. Guess You could say I save it for emergencies. One year we got hit by three hurricanes in a row and lost power for a week each time. Even the cell phones were down.

Is that you singing on the video on your page, or is she a popular singer there? I like the video, in any case.

    I don't remember that gym. :\

Yeah, there were shiny pokemon in gold/silver rumored to be 10% stronger then nonshiny pokemon. I've never found out myself about this, though.

Hah, that's a problem I guess. You can just buy yourself laptop, though.

Hello! Sorry not to get back with you sooner. Its been very stormy here (hurricane season), and there's only one other place in the world that gets more lightning than we do. I completely unplug my computer during those times, just to be safe.

I don't remember if that was a poison gym or not, but it was in Ecruteak (Silver), where the Kimono Girls perform. Those girls were as tough to battle as they were graceful on stage lol.

Thanks for the lead on the anime scene. :-] Will check out those episodes and movies, and share them with the grandkids.

Do you happen to know if they had shiny pokemon in the Silver version? In my trainer's log I mention having caught a "sparkly" Unown, so might already have a shiny, just out of pure luck.

Will talk to you later, weather permitting. Have a good day!

Was that the poison gym? That's cool. I didn't learn anything from it myself. xD

You can download Pokemon Diamond and Pearl episodes at mininova.org with a torrent program like utorrent. I don't really recommend the other seasons. The first 3 movies and 7 and 8 were good imo, you can also get those at mininova.org

The reason I kept playing pokemon is because pokemon held my best memories, happiness and dreams whenever I reflect on my past. Pokemon was the dreamworld I always had respect and love for. As for those who quit, they simply got other lives and have much better things to enjoy then pokemon, which is quite believable. :P

I know, I was all set to have three people to trade with, too! I can collect 'em all by myself in Diamond though -- have all the GBA games for dual slot and Pearl so I can trade with myself.

I agree the Japanese culture showcased in the games has been the biggest factor in changing my world view in Pokemon. I remember the Dojo in Silver, I believe, that had invisible walls. You couldn't walk straight into it, but had to change the way you thought about confronting things in life (things are NOT what they appear to be) and enter by turning to the right first. What a life-changing revelation! I've never forgotten that and apply the truth of the philosophy to real life now. Its allowed me to win challenges where other people have failed.

I hadn't heard about all the Pokemon that will be able to follow you around in the remakes -- how very cool!! :-D I've missed my Yellow Pikachu in every game I've played since. I liked checking its reaction to events; made the game very real for me.

Used to watch the first season cartoons, but haven't seen the new ones or any of the movies. Do you have a favorite to suggest? I think my granddaughters might have a movie or two I could borrow...

Funny how most people can drop the game and never give it another thought. I guess you have the heart of a trainer, or you don't. I think it might be like reading books. You can read things like you would a text book or you can read them as if you are the main character and participate in the story in your heart. Some people just can't suspend belief long enough to live the book or game.

Too bad your grandchildren don't play Pokemon anymore =[. I was thinking how cool it was to have a pokemon-playing family.

I guess Satoshi and the Japanese culture is to thanks for all it's taught you. That's quite a thing to say. :P

Have you heard that in the upcoming remakes Heart Gold and Soul Silver all 493 pokemon can follow you like pikachu did in pokemon yellow? :P It's exciting eh. I can't wait to see Manaphy and Starmie following me around.

    Do you watch the anime?

Oh I started with Pokemon Blue because of my 6th grade classmates were so big on it. I was the only who who kept playing after 1st generation of pokemon of all my old classmates though, lol.

Thanks for asking -- I retired after 30 years of working in one barbershop. Doing the same thing for so long just got old, although I do miss my customers, who had become close friends over the years. Plus, the job interfered with my Pokemon-playing lol. I'd seen the ads for Pokemon but didn't give them a thought until Yellow came out. I suddenly just had to have it -- I wanted my own Pikachu following me around, and I love creatures and liked the idea of being able to catch all these cool Pokemon who were so different. Little did I know that Pokemon is anything but a simple kid's game and that I'd be amassing and commanding what amounts to a huge force of elitely trained soldiers! I played as if it was real and got emotionally involved with my Pokemon -- you know how it is, I just got hooked. The games have taught me so much and changed the way I perceive the world. What got you into Pokemon and which version did you start with?
