I... I don't really watch things as they air haha. I've got a lot of shows that I enjoy and will periodically catch up on, but not many that I keep up with on a week-to-week basis. Except Doctor Who, when it's airing. And Pokémon.
-
This is why I don't watch much television. Is there anything good on nowadays? Besides AT, I mean? Like, do you have a favorite show airing right now?
-
MLP is certainly not the epitome of an interesting adult-oriented show lmao. It's really more like something that would be mildly enjoyable to watch with children. It's pretty good, but it's not the kind of thing with amazing scripting and plotlines.
-
Take on the show "My Little Pony" for example. I've never seen an episode because it looks like something my 3 year old niece and nephew would watch, but my friends keep telling me that is is for an adult audience and the dialogue is more deeply understood for ages 18 and up. The wonders of cartoons nowadays.

Mm. I feel like a lot of shows these days have taken the stance of "it doesn't matter, our viewers are kids" and overly cautious and trying to only involve what children will understand rather than challenging them to think about things or ask someone for clarification. They're tailored to a specific age range and comprehension level.
-
That was a good era for cartoons and shows though. Rugrats and Keenan & Kel were my favorites. Although mediocre, still enjoyable. Kids nowadays have The Wiggles and Dora the Explorer, not knowing the best shows before they were born.
-
I have the same reactions to a lot of shows haha. Recently I was watching Jimmy Neutron and Drake&Josh and I'm like "this is pretty mediocre tbh why do I like it still".
-
Its actually very interesting, because whenever I watch the original Power Rangers, i ask myself "why did i enjoy this cheap show?" There's so much cheesy and cliche lines and all of the above. Don't hate it, I still love it.
-
And one day he'll vaguely remember the show as being good, and sit down to watch as a teen or adult. And he'll find that it's so much more than he remembers of it~
-
Its funny cause I think about the same things. The adult mind thinks more about the details than the mind of a child. My little nephew, for example, watches it because its funny. Thats it.
-
I'm just really interested as to what's ACTUALLY going on in the damn town. And what's Stan's role in it? And what made things this way? So curious.
-
Yup. Diper's potential in the show makes it enjoyable to watch. While it is not as random wise like AT, it still has its giddy moments. That and also the fact that I want to cosplay Diper one day. :>
-
Haha I've been amazed at the intrigue present in the silly adventure-a-week style show they've made. Like it's slow-moving but it's got much more plot when pitted against AT- AT is very slice-of-really-strange-life compared to GF.
-
Right in the weak spot! Gravity Falls is probably the greatest cartoon show since Kim Possible.
-
I haven't watched either of those. :x The only other recent cartoons I've seen are Gravity Falls and Bravest Warriors.
