October 3rd, 2010 6:02 PMSammiWell, of course NU/W has more threads. :p But yeah, I never found it very hard to read. I'm a quick reader. If it took 15-20 minutes, it was because of IP checks...
I think, next time we get a NU/W mod, we need to tell them "OMG DON'T IP CHECK EVERYONE YOU WILL WASTE YOUR LIFE AWAY". I think I caught one person the few months I modded there and it wasn't a big deal.
I think the big reason I don't welcome people anymore is because I did it so much when I had NU/W that I just don't have fun doing it anymore. T_T That and I'll feel like a robot... because that's how I felt then.
I wonder how much of my postcount is thanks to my NU/W days? XD -
October 2nd, 2010 6:34 PMHiidoranWell, NU/W has more threads... but very few people post in each one. So, my typical patrol really only takes me a maximum of 15-20 minutes - and that's if I'm being completely thorough. XD
As for IP checking, I used to literally look up every new members' IP address when they joined, but the loading time that takes and the fact that my internet isn't too great here at home... I look for suspicious behavior before I investigate these days. Which... usually means I end up looking up quite a few anyway. D;
Oh, and there's no way I could ever welcome every new member again. Did that for months on end... and I... I just can't do that anymore. D: I welcome the ones that catch my attention, or need a question answered.
You should start welcoming again. ;^; -
October 2nd, 2010 6:20 PMSammiHaving modded OVP and NU/W, OVP doesn't have more content than NU/W. :( Not these days, anyway. Honestly I thought modding NU/W involved more work. More rules for people to break!Originally Posted by Hiidoran [ Original Post ]Other boards... I used to love OVP and would have taken it in a heartbeat, but there's just waaaay too much content to moderate on my own, and I'd obsessive over that kinda stuff.
...and the IP checks... and welcoming every member... yeah, maybe I overworked in NU/W, lol. -

May 8th, 2009 9:13 AMSammiNo, not these days. I used to, back when I was in school. Instead of paying 100% attention to class, I'd write. 8D Well, less in college; I learned I actually had to pay attention to those classes. Now that I'm not really leaving the house, there's no need for paper.
Yep! :D -
May 8th, 2009 8:46 AMHiidoranI take it you probably don't write it all out on paper first, huh?
At least you're being entertained. :D -
May 7th, 2009 6:17 PMSammiI have plenty of ideas. I'm more worried about getting it down.
I played video games during the storm, though. XD; -
May 5th, 2009 9:19 AMHiidoranAt least gives you a chance to work on your writing, right?
Or at least come up with ideas. -
May 1st, 2009 4:20 PMSammiYeah, I don't disconnect the computer from everything. :p Just the power plug. The hardest part about it is turning off the computer itself, really.
-
April 30th, 2009 8:45 AMHiidoranAh, well that's not as bad as what I was picturing.

April 29th, 2009 11:01 AMSammiI unplug the computer from my power strip.
