A Torchic with Flame Wheel? Light thought. Good trainer...
"Eevee, dodge the Flame Wheel, Torchic, Ember!" Eevee couldn't get out of the way fast enough, but was only slightly singed by Flame Wheel. Torchic's Ember was strong enough to cancel BubbleBeam.
"Hmmm, what a nice, lovely day..." stated Light.
"Eevee," replied his Eevee.
"Huh, oh, Torchic fell asleep. Return," called Light. Then he heard the bushes behind him shake, and out popped---a challenger.
The challenger declared, "I'm Ryan from Cerulean, and I challenge you!"
Light carefully decided what type of Pokémon Ryan was most likely to use and decided to go straight with Eevee. "O.K. Fine enough. How about just a plain one-on-one?"
"Fine by me," replied Ryan.
"Let's go! Ima battle with my Eevee, what about you?" asked Light.
"I'll show you---Gooooooo Fear!"
Out popped a Rattata from Ryan's Pokéball, and Light recognized the origin of Fear.
"Do you mean F.E.A.R. Fear, or just frightened?" asked Light, nervous.
"You'll see," was Ryan's only reply.
"Eevee, Tackle!" commanded Light.
"Fear, use endure!" called Ryan. Eevee's tackle landed head-on, but Fear stayed standing, all though easily noticed as tired already. Then Light realized what he was facing.
"O.K. You meant F.E.A.R. This is bad. Eevee--Sand Attack!" Eevee hurled a large lump of sand into Rattata's face, momentarily blinding in.
"Tackle," was all Light needed to say to end the battle.
