I like your perspective on things, it's a bit more realistic than mine. I'm of the mind that what I think will push into what happens - if in my mind public school is not an option my actions will shape around private school and it being the only educational contender lol

I definitely want to settle down at some point too but my last love has caused like 90% of this mess of mine to start with

I think the main area where public school fails is accommodating the two extreme ends of the student spectrum: the students with excessive difficulties in school and those who are gifted. There's also a lack of understanding and accommodation for students with mental health issues or other disabilities.

I won't be having children until after I finish my own studies, have a house, and own a car. I also plan to have a "nest egg" of sorts in order to make sure that if anything were to happen or if we were to need materials of various kinds / emergency repairs, etc. that that would be there and wouldn't affect my child in any negative way. My entire family has had kids before twenty and they're a huge mess. I don't want to stroll down that road :pink_no:

I should be married at that point, too. It's not a requirement, but it does create some kind of "This is real and serious" sentiment that would at least make me feel more comfortable knowing there's a support system in place. Making that kind of commitment should typically mean the person's sticking around, too. "In it to win it" mentality, if you want :pink_nod:

If I win a million dollars, I'll send 'em to private school, though :pink_tongue: but I don't expect to win a million dollars.

I think I will be a protective enough parent to have enough stability to have it over them being brainwashed, no offence.

I think the school system is exceptionally stupid here. I would still call most public schools brainwashing facilities the same, unless you go to a military high school... then you have a power curve for faculty because $$$ and it's basically like free private school due to federal funding, good quality everything

Private education is incredibly expensive, though :pink_tongue: I think the public school system isn't the greatest, but a lot of it can be accounted for at home. It's not terrible, but there are some glaring flaws that make it less than appropriate for the gifted students that do attend their institutes.

Heh. It sure sounds a lot better than public education. The lesson I've learnt from this is my children will never be going into public education at all. Not if I can help it.

The Student Federation Association thing does an awful job with complaints, though. We pay to have them there and they just pick their noses half the time. Our benefits package is awful, too: doesn't cover physio, doesn't cover orthotics, doesn't cover dental. The things they do cover are never 100%, only partials. It sucks lol

Universities are a business, but their model is to appease the most people, not the best students they have. They do everything they can to try and get the people who appear to be good students only to leave them flailing after-the-fact lol

Well at least college has a more logical means to the ends than high school... and since you're a paying customer you have a bit of say in what you see, which is nice.

That's scary... I'm thankful it's not that bad for me. But you'd think twice of me at a glance. I'm always wide-eyed, and always shaking. It's Tourrette's.

I've known someone with night terrors from being in the Middle-East. He'd start screaming uncontrollably, sweat profusely and lose grasp on reality. Sometimes he'd think he was still in the Middle-East. He says the things he saw - people, especially children, brutally killed and body parts, etc. - will never disappear from his mind. It's awful :pink_no:

I finished the in-class work in 5min and no one else has even touched it :pink_no:

the theme is specifically based around Suicide is Painless, which is the theme for the old timey Army TV show M*A*S*H*. That acronym stands for Mobile Army Surgical Hospital if I'm remembering right, so the theme song is actually incredibly appropriate. So much of the aftermath of war is worse than dying.

    As am I, the same.

Right now though I'm a little more depressed than bored... thinking back to ROTC and being reminded of my anxiety through a panic attack pushed me to put together a suicide theme, not that I'm suicidal or anything. I've been pondering so much about the scars of war which got me thinking of it, and whether the instructors would've had a soft spot for my shakiness and blank expressions and attacks, since I'd be acting so much like a soldier with PTSD

idk. I know it's just a spell though and I'll be back to the normal me shortly, mark my words. :p
