Yeah that's another thing liberals here are better at - acknowledging we're raping out environment and we need to do something to curtail it. Most conservatives here think it's some kind of conspiracy.

Yeppppp sure as heck seems like it. I'll never vote for 'em. The oil pipeline thing was a low blow for a quick buck. A lot of endangered species in that area, and after what happened in Alberta... #shudders

I'm going into Geography, and my boyfriend has his BA in Geography with a lot of additional credits in Environmental Studies. He's pretty anti-Conservative himself. We both voted Green Party this year. Pretty much threw our votes away doing it, but maybe someday... someday people will care enough... Y'know, when we're up to our waist in non-degradable garbage and stuff.

    That's pretty icky.

Up in Canada, the Conservatives care more about money than the environment, the middle-class, etc. Always taxbreaks / tea party scandals for big corporations and more costs for the consumer. They also don't care to protect heritages i.e. French, Native, etc. because it impedes on their finances overall.

They're the ones that OK'd putting a big oil pipeline through BC where it'll eradicate basically all wildlife along it. Happened in Alberta, and now it'll repeat in BC. No one's happy about it. Luckily the Liberals were voted in this time and they can perhaps change it.

I don't think we have a party here in Canada that focuses completely on those kinds of rights. Sometimes it's tossed around, but typically we focus on creating more jobs and the environment than anything.

You hit the nail on the head. They also care more about property rights than human rights.

I don't know much about the Republican Party. I don't focus too much on politics, but I think they're the guys that are totally homophobic and want to control women's wombs / contraceptives?

If so, then I can see how they're pretty backwards for this movement.

There's no such thing as progress in this country, and the reason can be summed up with three words: the Republican party.

Yeah, I'm not saying it's possible, but it'd be a solution XD we're just too proud to actually collaborate as a species. For those applicable, they need to get over themselves because they're delaying both movements' progression. Humans can be so selfish and egotistical, and it'll be partially responsible for our downfall.

But yeah, I can see how it could've looked sarcastic, but the thumbs up was genuine :)

Oh being as brash as I am, I'm used to the scrutiny. I appreciate it.

    In this country? Unity?

A bit much to ask. Egalitarianism is where these people should be looking when they say "we just want equality for all!" but half of them couldn't pronounce it or spell it, so they stuck with feminism and the MRA.

Everyone needs to be on either one side or the other. Pretty ♥♥♥♥ing weak.

I just noticed you getting a bunch of backlash and figured I'd let you know that your opinion and answers in that thread are only misinterpreted by those who feel victimized by it, and not those who are viewing the situation objectively and logically.

Totally being serious lol You basically shortened my post (which had a lot of personal content) and rewrote it in a handful of sentences.

Both MRA and feminist movements should be combined into one single human rights movements (after all, it's about equality), but feminism does hold more relevance than the MRA since historically, women have been oppressed and men, not so much.

I'll reiterate what I said in the thread myself:

    That all aside,

the whole issue is extremely complicated and gives me a headache. Let's all just work to be better people for a better society where everyone can feel safe and homely and work for equal wages and have equal opportunities without backlash. Just make a big ol' humanitarian group and dissolve Men's Rights Movements and Feminist Movements and become a Human Rights Movements, because at the end it's equality for all even though it's a much larger issue for women's rights than for men's, but that's besides the point and by sharing ideas and collaborating, we might actually get somewhere.
