January 29th, 2014 10:35 PMNolafusAnd this is why I'm not big on chat rooms, because I always forget they exist. XD
Which reminds me, I should probably check facebook since I haven't done that in a month. Well, I'm about to go to bed, so I probably won't be on tonight, but I might remember in the future. -
January 29th, 2014 10:33 PMMorkulaY'know, in order for Skype to work, you actually have to sign on. :P

January 7th, 2014 8:47 AMNolafusI just see people comment on how they love to write and I'm left wondering why they don't post any of it in FF&W. I've tried getting members to post, but they always say that they will, and I never see them again...

January 7th, 2014 12:28 AMMorkulaChewing out the members...that's one way to see results, I guess. :D
Feedback threads are always really good though. You're really fighting an uphill battle with that forum - PC pretty much thrives on the Pokemon and general chat sections, and the creative discussions have always been pretty inactive and hard to get people involved. -
January 7th, 2014 12:02 AMNolafusI've ranted in a thread in FF&W before. Actually, that was the entire point of the thread. To tell people what I thought of FF&W and to see if anyone had any ideas to improve the section.

January 6th, 2014 11:58 PMMorkulaI don't mind being here for you to rant to, and I'll gladly be here to listen and help you out in any way I can, but do you really want to be doing this in public? :P

January 6th, 2014 11:47 PMNolafusIt's just hard because people don't really want to put all the effort into reading this story that might not even be good. I can't just hand select a few "elite" stories and recommend them because that would be showing favoritism and as much as I would like to, I can't read every fic that gets submitted, so I would bound miss a really good story.
I tried doing a story of the week things where a random story would get an advertisement in the forum splash, and I had members submit their story so I wouldn't be advertising an abandoned fic, but two people signed up the first week, and then the member whose story wasn't drawn was the only member who submitted their story the next week. What sucks the most is that it seemed everyone wanted to do the story of the week, but when I did it, no one was interested.
It seems to be a trend in FF&W. I come up with an idea like the recent Idea Exchange, where people post their ideas they're not writing about in an attempt to inspire other people, and I'm the only person whose submitted any ideas so far. It seems that the members are so excited for something, but the second I implement it, they couldn't care less. Everything I do for them is just tossed aside and no one seems to care.
There's only one member who is doing anything, and that's Incynermin and his haiku contest, and even that is losing popularity. I'm even running around with a link to it in my sig, but it's not working. Nothing is working. It's as if the members just expect the place to get popular all on its own.
What they don't realize is that I can't reward them every time they make a post or do something good. What they don't realize is that they have to meet me halfway. It's a team effort and I'm the only person on the field.
Sorry about the rant. I started typing and didn't stop. It just frustrates me because this was the place I discovered my love for writing, but no one cares. -
January 6th, 2014 11:18 PMMorkulaThen it's your job to encourage people to read them, lmao.
Added! -
January 6th, 2014 11:14 PMNolafusYeah, I just wish some of the other stories could get more views. There are some great stories that are being ignored and it kills me.
And I'm now known as Slayr231 on Skype. -
January 6th, 2014 11:07 PMMorkulaI would love to! I'll try to do so soon. And getting modded will tend to do that. :P
And fix that. >: -
January 6th, 2014 11:00 PMNolafusDon't feel pressured to or anything, but I wouldn't mind if you did read it. :P
I remember the day I was modded, Alien Poverty's views got bumped up by ~200. It was a little intimidating, especially when some people started calling you the god of creative writing...
Well... umm, ermm. No comment. -
January 6th, 2014 10:46 PMMorkulaAhh, I've seen that link in your sig but didn't put two and two together, haha. I shall have to read it sometime!
And you love talking but have yet to make a Skype account like you said you were going to. Does not compute. -
January 6th, 2014 10:43 PMNolafusI love talking! Although, that might be a no-brainer too. :P
Yeah, it's my first attempt at a book that actually made it past chapter two. In fact, I'm wrapping up chapter eleven and I expect it to be done within the next couple chapters. It's not outstanding or even that good, but it's a start. I hope to rewrite it someday to tie up any loose ends and hopefully get it published. Have you seen my signature? It's kind of hard to miss there. -
January 6th, 2014 10:36 PMMorkulaI didn't know you were writing a book, although it seems kind of like a no-brainer, lmao.
This just proves we need to talk more!
