March 28th, 2013 12:28 PMEchidnaDon't worry man you'll get it!
Heavily guarded xD Nope nope, just at the moment all we know is that one revolves around ROM Hacking, general ROM Hacking as in not only Pokemon. The other is a Nintendo site. (: -
March 28th, 2013 10:42 AMlink12552The plan is for the engine to be made opensource after the game is released, but that, unfortunately, may never happen as I find my self having less and less time to work.
Is there anything you can tell me about these sites you're working on, or are they both heavily guarded? -
March 28th, 2013 10:04 AMEchidnaWow man that sounds amazing D: A 3-D game development engine would be huge! One question though, you planning on making it free software or paid? With all the effort you must be putting into this, my personal judgement would say go with paid but it's up to you.
It's actually a new site, of sorts. It's different than anything going around now, basically two sites that go hand in hand. We're taking this slow and precise which is why the project won't be actually worked on, as in the sites themselves, for a couple months from now. At the moment it's just brainstorming and launch talk... etc -
March 28th, 2013 8:50 AMlink12552Unfortunately the engine is not for Pokemon, as it is designed for 3D; although it could possibly be used to make a Pokemon Colosseum-esque game.
Ironically though, some of the first test-models I used were maps that were ripped from Diamond :)
Actually, I've had an idea for this game for some time now, but every time I make significant progress, something comes up that greatly impedes the effort - like Microsoft axing future support for indies on the Xbox360. The amount of work required to make EVERYTHING for a game is indeed eye opening; I have many pages of code with literary thousands of lines, and models and textures that I've spent weeks making. Despite all the work involved in a project like this, I still find it very fun.
So what kind of project - I would suppose a ROM hack - are you working on? -
March 28th, 2013 6:38 AMEchidnaYeah I'm the same between School and Work D:
A new game engine? O_O Please tell me it's Pokemon Oriented or at least compatible with the franchise D:
Been pretty good. We're working on a new project, starting slow but we have big hopes for the future. We have to see how this plays out. -
March 28th, 2013 5:35 AMlink12552I've been fine, really; just buried in school work - It's becoming very hard to find the time to work on any of my hobby projects, which is kind of disappointing.
- I'm in the process of writing a new game engine in C++ and DX11
Now, how have you been? Anything cool/amazing going on or in the works? -
March 28th, 2013 4:37 AMEchidnaYou can talk to me D:
Wait you're doing that, nvm then... How you been man? -
March 28th, 2013 4:08 AMlink12552Well then... hello!

April 7th, 2011 2:22 PMlink12552Learning to program's not easy, but it's not too difficult.
It's sort of like learning a foreign language,
Once you can wrap your head around it, everything becomes allot easier. -
