August 30th, 2013 8:29 PMTrevIt's fine, you did your best. Guess it just wasn't meant to be lol. Good luck with your game! Hopefully I'll be the only person affected by this.
-
August 30th, 2013 7:59 PMKytherWell, I am not sure what else I can do. Sorry. I really have no idea
-
August 30th, 2013 6:13 PMTrevIt didn't work. I installed everything again and it's still broken.
-
August 30th, 2013 12:18 PMTrevAlright, I'll see what I can do.
-
August 29th, 2013 9:17 PMKytherCool. It has a file called RGSS102E.dll. Try replacing my one, RGSS104E.dll with that one. Not sure if it will work but, it is worth a try.
-
August 29th, 2013 6:29 PMTrevAlright. And yes, I have downloaded Essentials, the recent one.
-
August 29th, 2013 3:44 PMKytherOH! okay. Um well, then the second link would probably be the best.
But first, have you ever downloaded Essentials? -
August 29th, 2013 1:13 PMTrevI never actually bought mine lol shh will it still work on the trial version?
-
August 28th, 2013 7:11 PMKytherNOTE: If you bought it before July 1st 2010, you will need to follow both of the steps below, otherwise you should be fine.
STEP 1: Download new version
Newest version
If it is in trial version, put in your activation codes/product key and see if it works.
STEP 2: Send them an inquiry
If you are like me and bought it in before July 2010,change over of ownership or something, and the activation codes were changed to a product key, and all codes before this no longer work.
Go here > Technical support here and fill out the information and in the inquiry.
Write something similar to this:
I need to update my version, so I downloaded the update for RPG Maker XP and it was changed back to the trial mode. I was never given a product key as it was an activation code before. I am asking if you would send me a product key so I can continue using the software.
(for product key, put your activation code there)
Once you have done that, it might take them a few days to respond but if all goes well, you will get you new product key
NOTE: You should uninstall your current version and make sure you know where this version of installation is just in case it doesn't work.
OR
If you don't want to do that, I am not saying you should, but you can also download it from HERE
This isn't the official site, but I am sure it works. -
August 28th, 2013 5:19 PMTrevI have no idea where you'd post it, lol. I don't partol that section enough. So, where would I get the newer version at? Where did you download RPGXP?
-
August 28th, 2013 5:15 PMKytherHey there! Joeyhugg has gotten back to me and I believe it is the version differnce that has stopped you from being able to play the game.
Both Joeyhugg and I have the version 1.0.4.0 with the date and time modified at 21/06/2010, 12:00am.
So if you can upgrade your version to this one or higher (pretty sure this is the highest) you shouldn't have any more problems. Let me know if all works out!
P.S. Where do you think I should post this to let everyone else know about it? I was thinking just in the Games development section. -
August 24th, 2013 4:03 PMTrevAwesome, thank you!
-
August 24th, 2013 4:00 PMKytherThanks for that. It's my personality, I always want to know why things happen. And besides, you said you like this style of game and I would like for you to play it.
So far, I have found (technically a few), but one difference between your version and mine. You have file version 1.0.2.0, where I have 1.0.4.0. I will wait until I get the same answers back from Joeyhugg before any real solutions can be made. But I think it is safe to say that if he has the same version that I do, then that would probably be the problem.
Will let you know as soon as I can. -
August 24th, 2013 7:11 AMTrevLaptop, 1.0.2.0 and 8/30/2005 at 12:00 AM, Windows XP (Service Pack 2). And no, you're not annoying at all lol. If anything, most game creators don't go to such extreme lengths for someone to play their game.
-
August 23rd, 2013 9:34 PMKytherMore questions! (I really hope this isn't annoying, I just keep thinking of new ones)
Computer type (laptop or tower), File version of RMXP, data modified (both found in the details tab of properties window), compatibility settings. I may yet think of more!
