August 4th, 2014 3:08 AMIncinermynI take it you already knew about the difficulty of DKC Returns then? If not, it's fine. It's a really rough game, but part of the reason I keep finding myself dying was because I was taking the extra time to find little stuff within levels. I'm shocked by how much stuff they put into it. It's just like how the originals were. So many good memories... XD

August 3rd, 2014 5:27 AMIncinermynAlas, I haven't finished it. I /did/ get all the way up to chapter seven/eight before I pushed it off to the side and stopped writing. All the chapters were kind of long, though. I plan to get back to it someday, but I've been too busy for it in recent months.
Mmm, a lot of kids games use animal characters to begin with and they're still as popular as ever. I'm sure you've heard of Donkey Kong Country. I've spent so many hours on all of those games that it's not even funny. I'm still working on DKC Returns, which is easily the hardest game in the series. I actually just beat my second play-through and I'm trying to complete the Image Gallery and get a 100% clear on it (in truth, I've beaten everything BUT the final post-game level). -
August 2nd, 2014 6:49 PMfor him.Oh Biohazard! I remember that fan fiction pretty well. I loved it. Did you ever finish it by the way?
I felt like the human turned pokemon thing was more of a way to get the player more invested in the story. In a way, they were just trying to make an avatar that players could easily relate to, and it just so happened to be make the avatar a former human. (If that makes any sense?) -
July 30th, 2014 4:18 AMIncinermynI enjoyed them all, but I felt like the Explorers series was actually a little less dark than the Rescue Team games. I mean, humans were basically extinct in the Rescue Team games, as opposed to just not present in Explorers. Also, for a long part of the game, the player character is afraid to reveal that he's human to anyone but his/her friend that he/she was originally human and, when it comes out, it results in him/her being exiled and pursued like a monster. There were a lot of parts where the character almost dies too. So, that was a pretty dire scenario, despite being a kids' game.
My main thing would be more of a case sort of like EO, wherein everything's built upon the ruins of modern civilization and human activities in the past suddenly come back at Pokémon in the future. Ideally, I don't think there should've even been a human-turned-Pokémon character, simply because the games are set in a world that exists after people or where humans never existed altogether (simply as myths, like in PMD-GtI). But then, I'm just rattling off a bunch of my own ideas at this point... That's actually the basis for my fanfic Biohazard. -
July 29th, 2014 7:52 PMfor him.It seemed fine to me. Well either way, PMD Explorers of Time, Darkness, and Sky were dark, but still released on the DS at an E rating so.....
-
July 29th, 2014 6:32 PMIncinermynI have to agree with you there. Well, to an extent. What I would like is a PMD game that's post-apocalyptic, kind of like the first two. But that may be a little too dark for kids.

July 29th, 2014 5:32 PMfor him.I found the plot to be a bit lack luster when compared to the other games. I think I just expected a lot more.
-
July 29th, 2014 4:36 PMIncinermynActually, it was a lot of fun, but the exploration parts were actually kind of restrictive. I think they could've done without the one mission cap on rescues.

July 29th, 2014 4:30 PMfor him.Gates of Infinity didn't look all that fun to be honest.
-
July 29th, 2014 12:38 PMIncinermynOh, god, I was so addicted to that game. I played it for almost three months straight after I got it and cleared virtually everything, except Destiny Tower. So close to a full completion of the game... I just couldn't pull it off...
I've been meaning to do a 100% complete of PMD: Gates to Infinity too, but I got lazy... I even sprung for the DLC a little at a time just so I had everything. -
July 29th, 2014 11:58 AMfor him.I loved PMD Sky! :D XD There was so much to do, especially in the post game. I am so glad they expanded that.
-
July 29th, 2014 11:26 AMIncinermynOh, I've been fine. Since I put EO away, I've been trying to reacquaint myself with some older addictions, namely Super Mario Bros. 3 for 3DS Virtual Console and PMD: Explorers of Sky. I used to put tons of hours on the latter in particular. I was totally obsessed with the game a few years ago, and I'm feeling myself getting totally enthralled with it again.

July 29th, 2014 10:22 AMfor him.I just came back from vacation. ;D XD How about you? And goodness that sounds like a game I would cry over.
-
July 21st, 2014 2:09 PMIncinermynWell, I've had my fill of EO4. The post-game Superbosses really hit hard, even when I switched to "easy" mode.
So, how have you been lately?
