    He he, the only stupid question is the one that you don't ask. Well hardware is physical material. For example, your keyboard, mouse, monitor, and computer are hardware, whereas software are the applications that your computer runs, so for example, software is Internet Explorer, Outlook Express, Microsoft Word, etc.

    So it is pretty much as the name states. Hardware is something that you can touch, and Software is something that you use and can't touch. I hope I didn't confuse you. He he.

    12th year~ And you are really asking the wrong person... I mean I'm really trying to get into a prestige culinary institute, I'm not sure if the rules for there really apply to all colleges. ^^;

    Software Design is short for Software Design and Development which is programming, creating and designing software for computers. Anyway how about you, your 17 correct? So would that make you in year 11? And how do schools in America work, is College the equivalent to University and TAFE here in Australia?

    Well, I'm hoping to get into a private university specializing in Software Design that doesn't require an ATAR, which is a score that you get based on the results of the HSC, but if I don't get into the private university, I'll be going to one that requires an ATAR of 68, which is relatively low, but it's still stressful because everything hangs on these exams.

    Yep, these tests determine how easily you can get into TAFE and University, or if you can get in at all.

    The HSC stands for Higher School Certificate, which is year 11 and 12 in Australia. I just finished year 12, and only have the exams left.
