July 13th, 2010 9:10 AMShrike FlamestarHey, Astinus, I realized that editing in revised chapters to an old thread wasn't such a good idea especially when the new revision is a rather big overhaul. As such, can you close this old thread please?

October 5th, 2009 11:52 AMAstinus>_> Oops. I'll have to send you a friends request before you can contact me over on SPPf in any way, either VM or PM.
And I'll just change my settings, because I'm not active enough over there to even warrant VMs/PMs. -
October 4th, 2009 4:29 PMShrike FlamestarPff, now I don't even know if I want to post it. Would risk stirring it up again perhaps, and all I really was going to respond to is his stem cell thing and the post he linked me to. Which was complete bullcrap, the guy who posted that stuff has no idea what he's talking about. Energy isn't composed of particles, nor does it have mass or volume. That sort of goes against what energy is.
Also, since I can't reply to your VM on Serebii, do you want the PMs there? -
October 4th, 2009 11:58 AMAstinusSorry. After I closed the Lounge, I realized that I was way too tired from work to make any actual decision involving anything, so I went to bed.
Lounge is open now. Go have fun. :D -
October 3rd, 2009 10:16 PMShrike FlamestarAstiiiiiiiiii... I have this post sitting here ready to go and it's not even a long one but you're being mean to me. :(
-
October 3rd, 2009 10:02 PMShrike FlamestarBut...but...I'm in the middle of writing my final final post! :O And it'll be a short one, just responding to like...two things he said. :(

October 2nd, 2009 11:51 PMShrike FlamestarYour avatar is so awesome I am beyond words.
Well, not for long. I seem to have lots of words tonight, first finishing chapter 5, then making all those really really really long posts X_x
I'm glad of that too, since when I get around to reading TRINITY, I automatically stick a certain science fiction book character into any role where the name "Andy" is used. It's sad and hilarious at the same time.I had a feeling you'd say that. Don't know why, it's not like you're completely obsessive about him and not afraid of showing it. Also, bah, you'll never read TRINITY. Admit it. <_<
Also, I read your other post. I just didn't have time to respond to anything in it before I had to hop out the door to work. But I did read it, since you were talking about TFC, which I am currently reading the new version of! (Chapter Five is currently my first tab open on Firefox. I'm reading it over at SPPf, btw.)Ooh, so maybe I should take back what I just said. :D So, you think it's better so far? I find it hard to imagine how anyone couldn't think it's better. I can barely bring myself to read the old versions but I sort of have to in order to have a rewrite that's at least marginally true to the original (plus, I don't want to have to replan the entire story).
(Though don't ask me to point out examples, since I haven't looked at Pokemon canon, except for the brief glance at a moveset, in over a year.)Heh, I barely keep up with canon myself in terms of the anime at least. I do know that Dawn recently acquired a newly hatched Cyndaquil, however. One may thing I would be happy at this, joyous even that my favorite line is back in the anime.
I'm not. I am angry about it. Ash already has a Cyndaquil. A perfectly fine one. One that should have so much experience by now that it should at least have evolved to the lovely perfection that is Quilava, or even the badass that is Typhlosion. But no. It just sits at Oak's and rots away, probably wondering what it did wrong while sitting in the corner with the rest of Ash's Pokemon as they pass around a razor blade and slit their wrists in sorrow. As an author, one of the things I've learned is to keep things simple, especially when you have some rather complex concepts such as Source Energy. So why introduce a new character that's exactly the same as ONE THAT ALREADY EXISTS!
There's then also the fact that Dawn completely killed Piplup by commercializing it just as much as Pikachu. If that happens to Cyndaquil I swear to god I am going to kill someone.
Oi. I'm not even sure why I'm going on about this. I have my own beliefs as to how intelligent Pokemon are.Yep, so do I, and it just happens to be one of those things I get extremely defensive about. -_-
Really all I wanted to say was yay for name changes and that I do read your posts! D:If only more people did and weren't daunted by their length... ;_; I seriously wonder if that's why I'm not the most popular author here, simply because my posts and chapters tend to be so long that the casual reader who considers just ten pages as long for a chapter is put off by my, say, twenty page long chapters, and then my rants on how complex the inner workings of the most significant concept in TFC is. <_< -
October 2nd, 2009 10:52 PMAstinusBe glad I changed Kyle's name from what it used to be: Andy.I'm glad of that too, since when I get around to reading TRINITY, I automatically stick a certain science fiction book character into any role where the name "Andy" is used. It's sad and hilarious at the same time.
Also, I read your other post. I just didn't have time to respond to anything in it before I had to hop out the door to work. But I did read it, since you were talking about TFC, which I am currently reading the new version of! (Chapter Five is currently my first tab open on Firefox. I'm reading it over at SPPf, btw.)
And I read your recent post, btw. Completely agree with the whole "why make Pokemon not have character" part of it. I mean, it's been shown that Pokemon feel quite a bit of human emotions, and that they understand more than what animals in the real world can understand. (Though don't ask me to point out examples, since I haven't looked at Pokemon canon, except for the brief glance at a moveset, in over a year.)
And yeah, the games don't really give much in terms of how to think of Pokemon. Especially the mainstream games. When you toss in Mystery Dungeon, it seems like Pokemon are as intelligent as humans, pretty much like humans-in-Pokesuits. Or in Ranger, where the Pokemon join the human for a brief period of time to help out one another.
So, I guess what I'm going for is that Pokemon aren't brainwashed to help humans by the badges. (Rangers don't have badges. Games show that only traded Pokemon really care how many badges you have before they "respect" you. And what about those trainers who don't get badges but still get Pokemon? Like A.J. from the early days of the anime? He didn't have any badges at all, yet his Pokemon all still respected him just through training.) And I'm also saying that Pokemon are quite intelligent. I mean, Dragonite is said to have the intelligence of a human. To say that a Dragonite is not as intelligent as a human goes against canon.
Oi. I'm not even sure why I'm going on about this. I have my own beliefs as to how intelligent Pokemon are.
Really all I wanted to say was yay for name changes and that I do read your posts! D: -
August 27th, 2009 6:46 PMAstinusDon't worry about it, Shrike. It's all good now.

January 2nd, 2009 10:22 PMShrike FlamestarSomewhat more coherent now I've decided that I was pretty much acting irrational through the whole thing too and just like yesterday, let my personal feelings get the better of me. Well, this time it was something personal, at least. Sorry about spam-venting on your page; I've deleted it now as it really wasn't something I should have said here.
...I will say again how LOL worthy it is though that he seriously thinks swearing shouldn't be used in contest entries as it's "unprofessional." He takes them way too seriously or something.
I'll also say again that I don't think I'll be entering a contest again anytime soon... Whereas I was more neutral on the ideas of contests and awards yesterday, I think I've realized that, no, they're really not such a great idea. -
January 1st, 2009 4:48 PMAstinusHe better not bring it up elsewhere. But I'll keep a watch on things to make sure that the wanky drama doesn't go elsewhere.
-
January 1st, 2009 4:44 PMShrike FlamestarWell, I guess that works too. Wonder if he'll actually stop though or bring it up someplace else...
-
January 1st, 2009 4:43 PMShrike FlamestarSOMEONE KILL THE BASTARD! If he won't accept a peaceful surrender, I say we burn him at the stake!
-
January 1st, 2009 4:30 PMShrike FlamestarAugh, thread lock, plz? That guy's so hardheaded I don't know why I keep replying... It's my weakness, I just can't back down from stuff... -_-

June 14th, 2008 11:42 PMShrike FlamestarThought you might be interested to know that I am taking a move towards getting Dimi out of power. I have done some research of recent drama and compiled a short document highlighting how he has failed in his job as an admin recently and ignored all the drama that has been occurring without even so much as talking to those involved. He hasn't even taken any action against GardevoirGirl, who has been making personal attacks against Buizel. Obviously I kind of like that since I don't like Buizel, but it is still wrong of her the same and she should still be reprimanded.
Once I've got this all together I plan to publish the document publicly and then talk to FyreFlareon about him perhaps becoming a replacement admin. :)
It's time for change in ATP and for me to step up and address the pressing issues of recent weeks... Don't you wish you were there amid all this fun drama? :D
...I feel like I'm impeaching him. I guess I sort of am. But he deserves it. :O
