October 8th, 2017 1:48 AMweedle_mchairybugI'm waiting until the Dub releases the episode to watch them (and even there, only online, and I'm making those episodes an exception to my current Disney boycott. Let's just say Disney made a BIG mistake regarding Star vs. the Forces of Evil and the Live Action Remake of Beauty and the Beast, the latter regarding LeFou.).
And yeah, here's hoping as well, especially if they actually HAVE Misty keep her goal for keeps, no longer HAVE to return to the gym thanks to her sisters. Honestly, AG ruined the gym leader profession by making them wimps, and DP and BW weren't much better (the former only regained their competence by making Ash and Pikachu look bad, and the latter's even worse due to a mixture of AG's fault of having them lose like JJM, and making Ash look retarded and weak a'la DP regarding the latter category). Good thing they brought in the Mega Gyarados bit.
Another good thing about those two episodes is that they now have Ash back on track to focusing on his goal. Honestly, the whole school plotline was a mistake, forcing him out of his dream of becoming a Pokémon Master. -
October 8th, 2017 12:26 AMDBZ fanSorry, i had trouble logging in pokecommunity lately. Something with my account and computer, as well being very busy in last few months. But yea i know, those were wonderful news and glimpse of hope for there still being chance that pokemon anime start heading in bright and correct direction. Not forgetting its roots, past and older fans.
I already watched episodes enjoying in Misty and Brock as characters remembering how great anime used to be when Misty was around. Fact that she has mega evolution also says a lot of how much she improved in meantime, indicating she was on her own journey. Being in Kalos in order to even find out about mega evolution and acquire key and mega stone.
Implying her dream of becoming water master haven't been completely forgotten since with mega evolving Gyarados she made one stepo forward, pretty big step in coming closer toward that dream.
Hopefully promise of Misty and Brock traveling to Alola wont be forgotten with this Kanto arc no being last we saw from them. Because their comeback was too short not giving enough time to learn much about what has been happening with them. Have them battle and be of help to story more as well expand on their interactions and mix of personalities with other characters. But Ash as well with Misty and Ash back and forth chemistry briefly shown in those 2 episodes showing how their spark and fire is still in there enriching on atmosphere of this show helping Ash feel, more faithful to himself and his goals. -
August 28th, 2017 1:37 AMweedle_mchairybugGood news, old friend! Misty and Brock are coming back, at least for Episodes 42 and 43 of Sun and Moon. And since it was announced at Telubi-Kun (something that didn't happen any of the other times any of the old characters returned, not even with Misty and Brock's cameo in the flashbacks relating to Charizard), and showed actual scans focusing in on their return, we definitely know their return will be very big news indeed. They're going for an extracurriculum class that involves going to Kanto, and Ash will fight them. If what I suspect is correct, that may even mean Misty will return to the main cast, or at the very least pursue her Water Pokémon Master goal again after this. Hope you can read this message.

April 12th, 2017 3:11 AMweedle_mchairybugI know a few people on Deviantart who are Misty fans, some I even knew back when the Bring Misty Back Club was still in existence here (I blame myself for it going defunct, because at the time it got shut down, I was undergoing a multi-month break from it to test whether I became like Cybercubed or not at the advice of my parents).
Yeah, it's very shocking they would do that. I mean, I know several people hated Misty from my time there (I even got banned from that site once when trying to defend her when one of the mods there used flame bait and he got away with it simply because he was a mod), but to think they'd celebrate when the show literally destroyed its own canon far more than a Metal Gear game? I must admit, I'm disturbed. Even if I were someone who disliked Misty intensely, I would NEVER cheer the writers on for destroying their own canon even if it meant removing Misty, especially regarding an anniversary retelling of Ash's first journey in a manner akin to Dragon Ball: The Path to Power.
And technically, it's three random new characters, don't forget that they replaced Gary as well (and that's arguably even WORSE than replacing Brock and Misty there). -
April 11th, 2017 11:01 PMDBZ fanHi there. i accepted your friend request.
Deviant art? No, I haven't signed in there. To be honest i very rarely go there, but what i noticed when going is that this is one of more lighter place for Misty fans. On other hand serebii forums anime section is packed with Misty haters. To my shock big majority was overjoyed when it was revealed how for 20th anniversary Misty and Brock were replaced with 2 random new characters. Way to disrespect 20 years of history and older loved by many characters. -
April 8th, 2017 7:31 PMweedle_mchairybugHi.
Are you a member of DeviantART?
If so, I was wondering, think you can talk to cbcanime about Misty and why she's a good character? You might not change her mind (she hates Misty as well as Serena), but it's still worth an effort. If you don't convince her, then agree to disagree with her, since I intend to respect her wishes. -
August 20th, 2016 4:48 AMweedle_mchairybugHey, DBZ Fan? Think you can go over to Bulbapedia and sort some things out. I was trying to relay what you mentioned regarding Date with Delkitty when I tried to reword something to better reflect the Japanese version, but another user insisted on removing it altogether (it dealt with the ending), and since you verified from Dogasu and Dephender the ending via the Japanese version and what it entailed, I'm probably going to need help there (besides, the user in question said I should bring you in anyways).

July 25th, 2016 7:25 AMDBZ fanThat's unfortunate. Hmm honestly I don't know who you could ask.
-
July 25th, 2016 6:44 AMweedle_mchairybugI did ask him, multiple times. He's been a no-show. That's why I turned to you.

July 25th, 2016 6:32 AMDBZ fanSorry for responding back so late, but I wasn't able to log in pokecommunity for a long time. Had issues with some computer virus(it got fixed thankfully). As for your question im afraid i don't have or know how to find this surveys either. I tried looking it up but with no successful results. Maybe you could try to ask IrregularMaverick? Since he mentioned them in first place.

July 13th, 2016 2:42 AMweedle_mchairybugHey, DBZFan?
I'm trying to find the Bandai/Cross Marketing surveys. However, typing it on Bing doesn't seem to yield any results.
If you know where to find the cross-marketing surveys, think you can post the links? I'm trying to deal with Famon who's claiming that Pokémon's still profitable despite the very low ratings, and I know IrregularMaverickZ mentioned that cross marketing survey regarding how terribly Pokémon's been doing, yet Famon's dismissing it as "opinion." -
September 19th, 2015 6:28 PMweedle_mchairybugI just read that tumblr post, and all I have to say is... ouch! Seriously, I thought AG onward had things bad, but it seems even back in Kanto, they were downright terrible. Even Jessie James and Meowth in Episode 3 come across as skilled compared to them. Blane's negative statements about Gym Leaders going by this is a massive understatement. I don't even blame Violet, Daisy, or Lily for being discouraged from running the gym considering the fact that they were literally forced by their own parents to run such a hellhole due to the parents themselves breaking under the stress. And it makes Misty's situation after Gotta Catch Ya Later even worse than I imagined, and I can fully understand why she wouldn't like running the gym, even more than before, and makes me even more disgusted with the writers as a result. Heck, because of that, I can also understand why Brock is a womanizer and in fact almost feel sorry for him now that I know his reason (even though I still don't approve). Considering the crappy family he had, namely being exposed constantly to remaining stepfathers, and his mom was forced to constantly remarry just to keep the gym active and the fathers leaving every single time, and then eventually fleeing herself due to breaking under the stress, I doubt anyone can come out of it without having a repeated desire for women.
And honestly, reading up on this, I'm wondering why Pokémon Training, or even a Pokémon Master, is even a desirable outcome? Not only does it apparently have a high mortality rate (Primeape alone is pretty much the reason why Poke Balls even exist right now), but apparently it seems to turn out deadbeats. If anything, people would be smart to NOT pursue becoming a Pokémon Master due to just how much of a low chance one can actually achieve it. Heck, that basically is the reason Ash is from a single parent household, so if anything, Ash should hate the profession for ruining his dad and grandpa's lives. -
August 11th, 2015 11:23 AMDBZ fanI know. Not to mention Brock and Gary changed their goals realizing how they want to become something else in life. But Misty never changed her goals. Even after taking over gym she still expressed desire to leave and travel not forgetting how she wanted to become water master and maybe E4 member one day. With sisters just not giving her much of choice, unless she wants to risk their hometown gettng wrecked.
Real queston is why writers portrayed Misty that way? They could made her change her dream deciding how being gym leader is enough for her. But they did opposite portraying her as sad and disappointed affirming how sisters are main reason behind staying at gym not abandoning her dreams. Thus leaving her future completely unclear and unfinished.
Only logical explanation is that writers left everything convoluted and undefined on purpose because of planning to bring her back resolving problem with gym and substitute(they even started making Daisy seem abit more comfortable with gym and battling when spending time with Misty like in Luvdisc episode). But for some reason they changed their mind forgetting to give Misty closure which is unacceptable. -
August 10th, 2015 3:15 AMweedle_mchairybugOh, okay. Though I guess Cerulean Gym must have been one of, if not THE very last gym during his run in Kanto since if Ash and Paul are anything to go by, the trainer's obligated to get eight badges in a single region to compete in the gym.
And yeah, it was definitely a huge disservice to her character, forcing her to put off her goals like that. Brock and Gary may have put off his goal of becoming a Pokémon Breeder and Pokémon Master respectively, but at least they did it entirely of their free will without any coercion. What's even worse is that shortly afterward, the writers made the Gym Leaders extremely pathetic by having them lose to the rookies on Ash's team, which also just added insult to injury. I realize Gym Leaders are never going to be as strong as Elite 4 members while they are Gym Leaders, but they certainly aren't supposed to be THAT weak (it's like JJM losing to a caterpie in the third episode, which also resulted in them gaining a rather infamous reputation of being bottom-feeding trainers not just among the fanbase, but even in-universe). -
August 10th, 2015 12:34 AMDBZ fanAbout that kid from Hoenn, Misty was already active gym leader with kid Jimmy saying how he got badge from Daisy, because Misty wasn't in gym. This indicates how either Misty went to Pallet town visiting Tracey and professor Oak. Or she went on short journey to possibly catch new pokemon or enter some tournament. In reality its unown why Misty wasn't at gym, because it was never explained. But this happened after Misty already released Togetic returuing back from Hoenn.
Ash proved that when saying to Jimmy shocked after seeing his badge how he must be very good trainer when he managed to defeat their friend Misty(before Ash find out how he got it from Daisy). Ash talks in plural showing how May and Max already met Misty becoming friends with her.
This episode proved how Misty sisters are still technically gym leaders, just passive ones(reserves). With Misty even expressing sadness and disappointment several times in chronicles and in "A Real Cleffa Hanger!" over her sisters being lazy not doing their chores and responsibilities at gym. Having to takre care of things herself preventing her from going on longer journey to advance her dreams.
Heck, even when she does temporary short travels visiting Ash at Pallet, sisters are already rushing her home not wanting to battle challengers. Daisy even treatened how she will give trainers gym leaders without battling in Misty last appearance with Misty being frustrated and saddened over sisters not understanding her own desires and needs. Talking with Max about it and delaying coming back. Being more interested in traveling with Ash and being with friends again. She even said at end of episode how she "unfortunately" have to go back to gym.
Yeah i know, writers did Misty big injustice. She clearly wants to become water pokemon master and E4 member if her idolization of E4 Lorelei was something to take in account. Taking over gym brecause of incompetent sisters who almost get it shut down.
With writers leaving Misty story completely unfinished and future uncleared of what will be of her dreams and in what direction her life will go. Indicating how they on purpose had Misty not abandon her dreams and changing goal like Gary and Brock did, portraying her as disappointed at gym taking care of it out of necessity revealing desire to leave and showing to have higher dreams she wants to achieve than being gym leader. To have easier way to justify Misty return in case they ever decide to bring her back de to not being set up and defined her future.
