Yeah, but it seems like the mods still thought it was an argument.

Yeah, no kidding, and what's worse is that I actually DID try to keep it on topic (it talked about the flaws of SM, and I was stating what the flaws were).

And of course the mods get triggered and the thread gets closed down once again...

More proof we need to take that sort of conversation to VMs only because any thread discussing the quality of the Sun & Moon series will only descend into arguments and disrespect of others' opinions.

BTW, Hikamaru, good news: A text has been leaked that seems to imply we'll be seeing other regions in terms of "extracurricular" stuff besides Kanto. You can find it here: https://twitter.com/AshandSerena/status/905722689653956608

Sorry about that, I'll try to keep your gender in mind.

So far as the other bit, like I said, next time CidHazard does it, I'll go to his VM specifically to avoid derailing any more threads (and I also tried my hardest to keep it within topic). I hate trolls, and would loathe to become one myself. And yeah, I know what it's like to deal with bad mods, having had to deal with them on Serebii and BMGf. It's also one of the reasons I have an inherent distrust of mods/admins, to such an extent that I refuse to let myself become one.

Seriously, I'd avoid that thread like the plague now that it's become a total mess.

I don't like becoming a toxic person who derails thread topics. That's what you seem to have become, and I feel you need to change your attitude so that you don't set off the staff again. And I know what it feels like because I used to have a very bad relationship with a smod in 2012 who slapped me for the stupidest things. He literally did nothing but abuse his power, and had I not been such a wimp back then I could have easily reported him for being a bad staffer.

I managed to turn around, and I really hope you do as well. You need to save your image from being tarnished forever.

And of course Kostas is triggered... it seems like anything off-topic is a berserk button to him.

Then again, I consider PokeAni one of the biggest hellholes of the forum aka hardest sections for the mods, alongside the ROM Hacking sections. No wonder why he's had to become so stressed like this.

I disagree with him on how Sun and Moon revisiting Kanto for nostalgia purposes is necessarily a bad thing
Looks like someone got my gender confused... and it ain't the first time it happened.

Okay. I've asked CidHazard to use the VM to discuss these sorts of things.

    Seriously dude, chill.

It really annoys me when I see you causing a thread to go off-topic, and I don't want you to suffer a bad reputation like this. You don't want to be known for doing only bad things like derailing topics, that's what the VM/PM system is for.

Yeah, it's doing better than at least Volcanion. By some people's statements, it may be doing even better than the Genesect movie. I'm honestly not liking this at all, because it just seems to validate the writers outright ignoring continuity, and I hate stuff that outright ignores continuity especially when it's actually SUPPOSED to be the type of show to have that (and what's worse is that this is supposed to be Pokemon's equivalent of The Path to Power, and that movie honored its roots far better than this recent movie did). The Simpsons, I can tolerate the lack of continuity due to it being a show with negative continuity and not having any overarching goals, while with Pokemon, they clearly are giving an overarching goal with Ash and thus ignoring continuity there is inexcusable (and BTW, since you don't like franchises that ignore continuity, I suggest you not play Metal Gear, that series, especially the Kojima-made ones, is rather notorious for constantly retconning things).

I was shocked that M20 is doing better in the box office than I first thought, because like you said it was a risky move removing the original characters (instead reducing them to an end credits cameo) and replacing them with someone completely different, on top of focusing on Pokemon that were not even from Kanto.

I clearly wanted the film to flop because it could have served as a wake-up call to the writers that ignoring continuity is only going to alienate the fans.

    Don't blame you for that.

And yeah, I wasn't happy with Best Wishes at all (like I said, before Sun and Moon came along, probably the only definitely redeemable aspect to the saga is that it was the saga where Charizard made a full-fledged return to Ash's team), but even that show ultimately was better than Sun and Moon for more reasons than one, especially in terms of Ash, for all of his faults in that saga, at least still focusing on his goal.

It's a darn shame though that the writers are getting a payoff for M20, since I was hoping they'd learn it was a mistake to completely ignore continuity and old characters, especially regarding an anniversary.

Yeah, I'm definitely doubtful they are going to have an Alolan League for this saga. They would have mentioned the league by now if they were going to do it. Not to mention thanks to them having Ash retake school (as if he ever NEEDED to go to school in the first place) instead of, I don't know, having him oversee the development of the Alola league like in the games, they didn't even have him focus on his goal. Say what you will about Best Wishes, and it definitely was a horrible show (probably the only redeeming elements are Iris and the return of Charizard), but at least it actually attempted to focus on Ash's goal, something that SM clearly is going out of its way to ignore.
Taking it here since I hate going off-topic and causing triggered mods.

But yes, there is a reason why Sun & Moon overtook Best Wishes for my least favourite series. While it had awful stuff like Ash being reset, Trip being an OP rival at first that Ash couldn't conquer until the league, and the worst companions to date, it did have one positive over SM which was as you said, have Ash actually focusing on his goal.

SM has Ash showing no dedication whatsoever, only being an extremely hypo kid who overexcites at everything about Alola and focusing more on that dumb school than the actual trials. It's very clear Alola will have no league, and I can imagine all the complaints because let's admit it, when it comes to league handling in the anime no-one will like it.

I'm guessing Rowlet or Litten will become the ace. Although I'd rather it be Decidueye than Incineroar because Ash has already had two Fire-type regional aces.
